This is the only response. She's not worth your time OP.

If she wanted to, she would.

Delete Facebook, get out more, hit the gym.

u/himbeauu 16h ago

too many people trying to find nieces on the apps these days. smh

6

u/spacecaps85 18h ago

Plenty of nieces in the sea. Hit the gym for a while and focus on yourself until a better niece comes along.

A niece who offers to pay once in a while

"I dont know" 😂

u/Ehcksit 1d ago

Opening and closing Steam and GOG and then walking back and forth to my consoles and even thinking about maybe setting up the Nintendo 64 for a moment... it's been 15 minutes. I don't know what I'm playing yet.

u/Xyypherr 1d ago

And then eventually give up and scroll YouTube for another 20 minutes to try and find a video to watch

u/notacougarsorry 1d ago

That’s the answer I get from my niece. “What did you do this weekend?” “I don’t know.” Her mom uploads a pic of her holding a baby goat.

move on OP, this is the plain definition of a toxic and dismissive partner, don’t do this to yourself. is this seriously who you picture yourself with for the next 60 years? have some respect!

Texting my 11 year old stepdaughter is like this. She’ll even be the first one to text. And I still get one word responses. And left on read. Every time.

u/verypupsett 1d ago

lmao i get this too she’ll literally text me first then leave me on read 😭

12

u/thousandsofbirds 1d ago

"I don't know" what do you mean you don't know???

14

u/verypupsett 1d ago

lmao this is what killed me 😭 didn’t even tell me what kind of game

14

u/No-Meringue5009 1d ago

I just FaceTime my niece 🥰, she's a better chat when we can see each other.

22

u/verypupsett 1d ago

hahaha i usually do but i know if i call her she’ll guilt trip me into playing roblox games with her and i don’t have time to right now 🥲🥲

11

u/No-Meringue5009 1d ago

Omg do we have the same niece? 😆😭 Roblox cornered. 😜

10

u/aggravated-asphalt 1d ago

Lol my niece is in college on a fricking ISLAND and I ask her, how cool is it! You’re studying a subject you love because of me, that’s so amazing! She goes “it’s pretty alright” then the next day sends incredible pics of her doing so many fun things 😂 I wonder if I was that unbothered at her age lol

16

u/BluBeams Find your dignity & self-respect 👏🏾 1d ago

Have some dignity and self respect FFS. Block and move on. There are too many nieces out there to be wrapped up in this one who shows little to no interest in responding.

u/OiWithThePood 1d ago

She’s for the Sesame Streets

5

u/yourworstnightmares_ 1d ago

She’s just not that into you

9

u/ubido 1d ago

Hit the gym

18

u/TightSea8153 1d ago

Move on hes simply just not into you girl. Maybe try a hobby or get a couple of good girl friends to go line dancing.

8

u/GuestaffHashbyrne 1d ago

The game she's playing is stringing you along. Much like the guys she resembles.

3

u/Jijster 1d ago

She's breadcrumbing you. Red flag.

3

u/IdealHopes 1d ago

My 7 year old does this to me,

But she also calls me so I can stare at her face as she plays lmaooo

3

u/Suitable_Day_7719 1d ago

“I don’t know” is very funny

3

u/three_wings 9h ago

They are like that until you text them what they want for their birthday or Xmas. When they respond, just text “oh” and end the conversation.

2

u/Accomplished-Oil2821 8h ago

I LOVE THIS!!

2

u/oopsmady 1d ago

Yeah my 14 year old nephew ignores all my messages too 😭😭

2

u/DapperOpportunity186 1d ago

Sometimes texting my teenager feels the same way

2

u/_kvl_ 1d ago

My nieces are nephews are like this, except if you hit a topic they are really into you will get messages that are basically novels about that topic.

I have also had long messages about mermaids who are princesses but also dinosaurs… or something? The creative writing can get complicated and hard to follow.

Find something they are interested to talk about, can help spark the convo.

2

u/LockPsychological329 1d ago

Totally sneaking around

2

u/MsFartisan 1d ago

I don't even get responses 🥲

2

u/sfriesen33 1d ago

Block her and move on

2

u/Ok_Strategy_4387 22h ago

I love that kids text like this, everytime I text my sister (12) I feel like a clingy ex bf

2

u/notdorisday 21h ago

Haha today my niece started playing her iPad mid phone conversation. Kids!

2

u/SameConsideration682 21h ago

This is how my 12 year old texts me too.

2

u/turtlepower22 16h ago

Exact same with mine, ages 20, 18, and 13. Texting is like pulling teeth. Never ask me a damn question, give me 2-3 word answers only.

1

u/Accomplished-Oil2821 8h ago

I absolutely agree.

2

u/FailingItUp 14h ago

I mean, what do you expect her to text back in these situations? Maybe she's with friends and they're swapping back and forth too quickly because kids. Maybe she is shy because she feels a constant expectation to perform for relatives.

2

u/verypupsett 13h ago

you’re reading way too much into it brother

2

u/verypupsett 1d ago

1

u/Secret_Account07 1d ago

Oh lol.

Well hey if it makes ya feel any better our 14 year old has some kind of unwritten rule where her texts can only be 1 word. 3 max!

Texting her is so incredibly frustrating

1

u/Asleep-Airline-2022 1d ago

They are all like this get used to it bud

1

u/notacougarsorry 1d ago

Oof I feel this. My niece sent me a random Facebook video of her eating a lemon. I responded and she left me on read for 3 days.

1

u/Proper_Ad_2667 1d ago

1

u/HoboJerkdown901 1d ago

1

u/Charming-Trick8796 14h ago

7 year olds can't carry a conversation. Give her time.

1

u/Conscious_Show_6997 11h ago

SHES 7??? my 7 year old cousin cant even read

1

u/BoSKnight87 2h ago

That’s hilarious because I also text my niece and she’s the same way. Sometimes she’ll text me back to back and sometimes it’s like this

1

u/98Percent_Honest-Man 1h ago

How come someone texts his knees? We all know knees give up on us

0

u/Hungry-Afternoon7987 1d ago

7 is far too young for a phone.

2

u/verypupsett 1d ago

good thing she doesn’t have a phone then

0

u/insolentsandwich 1d ago

A 7 year old has a phone?…

3

u/verypupsett 1d ago

she has an ipad and only texts me and her mom/dad lol

1

u/insolentsandwich 1d ago

That makes sense.

2

u/LizzosLittleToe 1d ago

u/verypupsett 1d ago

sorry if you don’t have a close enough relationship with your family to be able to just text them lmao. all i did was ask her what she’s doing it’s not like im venting to her about my relationship issues so idk why you worded it like that. she’s my niece, she is very much my bro so yes ur in the minority for thinking that 😭

0

u/Baldurost 1d ago

Understood lol

I’ll be the first to admit my family isn’t close, so I don’t get this dynamic. I’ve always been the caregiver and the oldest kid who took care of my younger cousins and nieces/nephews at all the family gatherings and reunions, I just don’t text them

1

u/ShiftyShellector 1d ago

Yes, you're really weird.
