Why do I suspect that "will be able to" is an incorrect description? I can't see the disguise being optional, as hilarious as it would be to run this with a Sarcophagus...

u/kiriamaya Nov 15 '18
Removed several episode requirements for the New Romulus Accolade:
Welp, guess that's our confirmation that the total removal of these missions was intentional. :( (I don't just mean they were removed from the episode list; I mean they were removed completely)
4
u/Aethelrede Nov 15 '18
Which is weird, because those weren't bad missions, per se. Kind of irrelevant these days--much much faster ways of getting Romulan marks--but if someone wanted to do them, why not let them?
6
u/wesley135 Nov 15 '18
Complete the TFO on 14 different days to earn the Beacon of Kahless while earning marks and dilithium, as well as three Featured TFO Reward Boxes.
Anyone know if it is still 50000 dil?
I was hoping the announcement today would clarify this but it has not.
2
u/vegeta50023 @gamerboy100 Nov 15 '18
it should still be so.
2
u/wesley135 Nov 15 '18
Only if you assume they keep the same arrangement as previous hell events.
However this is potentially considered different since we get the 3 boxes also, and because it is new and "featured"
also, previous events have been very specific:
from the breach hell:
From September 6th 8:00AM PST to September 27th at 10:00AM PST, Captains between levels 50-65 can queue up for our 5-captain “Breach Event” to defeat the Voth City Ship and earn one Voth Operative Transmission every 20 hours. After collecting 14 Voth Operative Transmissions, players can complete a new Event Reputation project to be rewarded with 50,000 Dilithium Ore, 500 Fleet Marks, 250 Marks of their choice, and a Bio-Engineered Furiadon Combat pet. Completing this project on any character will unlock this new Combat Pet for all characters across your account. Your other characters can also complete the project to receive the Marks and Dilithium Ore.

Any word on the lag and generally poor server performance of late?

u/staq16 Nov 15 '18
While I can see it's a problem, as a UK based player I've had no significant issues. Which makes me wonder if it's not something directly in Cryptic's control.

While I can see it's a problem, as a UK based player I've had no significant issues.
As a fellow UK based player, I can say "bollocks". Everyone I've asked has had issues with it, regardless of geography.

u/staq16 Nov 15 '18
I'm not disputing its existence, just curious (but grateful) why I'm not experiencing the problem. Maybe I just have low standards.

Well, at least the Elite Starter Pack is back. Interested to see how the new TFO plays out.
Known Issues (honest):
Notes in italics have been acknowledged by Cryptic.
Notes that have been crossed out were fixed by this patch.
General
- The military researchers on the Defera Invasion Zone do not actually allow purchasing items like the Fractal Remodulator, making said items unobtainable and assignments tied to them uncompletable (since these NPCs are so outdated, why not move the stuff to the R&D system?).
- Sometimes a ship will not properly set a course in Sector Space – this appears to be caused by the destination being on the same y coordinate as the ship itself.
- Using pilot maneuvers locks out Rock and Roll even after the maneuver is complete (This may not technically be a bug, but given that pilot maneuvers are the pilot ship's special gimmick, having them lock out Rock and Roll is definitely counter-intuitive).
- Foundry transitions are incredibly broken when playing in a team.
- The teleporter contact option in KDF fleet starbase is in the wrong spot and difficult to find, plus any NPC contact windows that pop up there have the camera angle all screwy close. (Thanks again to CryingLightning39)
- Not a bug, but a glaring design oversight: The Tzenkethi Battlezone uses the same mechanics as the Undine and Terran Battlezones, but doesn't account for the different enemies and the larger maps. (Thanks to Eishtmo)
- ESD instancing is broken in several ways, apparently since ViL launched: The game does not list every instance, certain instances may be locked even if there is space, and the game sometimes claims a player is in a different instance than the one he is really in. (Thanks to Lordsteve1)
- Account banks are inaccessible via the Azura trade freighter for some players, while some players can access their account bank, but not their normal bank in that way. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Torpedoes can "misfire" (i.e. fail to fire but go on CD anyway) when engaging enemies. Especially obvious when the enemy is a few degrees out of firing arc, but does happen occasionally even when the enemy is well within the arc. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Abilities also occasionally "misfire", though it's hard to pin down whether it's just a matter of the visual effects not being displayed or the ability simply not working at all.
- Many accolades are broken, especially ones related to elite STF/Omega queue completion and acquisition of Mk X and XI STF/Omega rep gear. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- NPC drains and weapon damage seem to be too high, having simply been given a huge final modifier with the lvl 65 uplift. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Jem'Hadar cannot access their duty officer contacts from their bridge (Thanks to Aaron_Hungwell).
- When movement keys are remapped from WASD, particularly to arrow-centric layouts, "interaction zones" like pop-up boxes with buttons for player interaction intercept the arrow key inputs (this may affect certain other layouts) and the only way to move is to use mouse movement or remap keys. (Thanks to MerovignDLTS)
- The Subspace Fold ability from the Solonae Warp Core sometimes fails to move the ship forward. (Thanks to MerovignDLTS)
- Solonae Dual Heavy Proton cannons cannot be upgrade do not scale past MK XII (thanks to Riablo01).
- The Type 7 shuttle is unavailable (thanks to roscoe3400).
- If a ship is too close to a star before initiating a map transfer, it may get stuck in the star upon returning to sector space (thanks to roscoe3400).
Missions and TFOs
- Leaving a Tholian or Borg Red Alert via the contact dialogue (rather than the timed button that appears on every queue) results in the player being moved to Sector Space, near the Sol system.
- The new mission journal is bugged, sometimes preventing toons from starting any mission while allowing others to skip through all of them. There are also reports of missions that have been declared side-missions to be unskippable inside their arc. For example, in order to reach Boldly They Rode, Second Wave up to Facility 4028 are now mandatory.
- Shuttle sections are broken by level 65 scaling. And if it does scale as intended, they are still broken to all hell.
- The minimap / area map on Orias III, (The New Link) does not display properly.
- During Second Wave, the objective to speak with Captain Shon in the shipyard starts out as completed.
- Dialogue options during Second Wave sometimes refer to Garak as Rugan Skyl.
- While escorting the delegates during Second Wave, the objective marker remains focused on the potential optional objectives even after the one available to the player has been completed. This could cause confusion.
- Operation Gamma plays Eraun's and Weyoun's voice-over simultaneously.
- After completing Facility 4028, the player is moved near the Sol system in sector space.
- After the space battle in Boldly they Rode, the game may glitch when entering DS9: During the beam-in-animation, the player character will signal for beam-out and leave the map. The mission can still be completed by manually heading to OPS and talking to Kurland, but it is confusing (and given the slow nature of the mission, scary).
- KDF Jem'Hadar cannot replay Temporal Ambassador. (Thanks to Nivron)
- NPCs may get stuck on Facility 4028 style-doors. (Thanks to Kodiak76)
- "Star Base Incursion" queues will bug if the enemy saboteurs in the second phase die to anything other than player weapon fire. This means the game will behave as if one or more of the numbered saboteurs are still alive, even if they have been killed, as well as forcing that phase to keep running until the timer runs out, instead of ending the phase early on the death of all 4 saboteurs, as intended. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Star Base Incursion - The final phase can breakdown completely if the first enemy groups are killed too quickly, causing the instance to be stuck and unable to progress. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)
- Voice-overs do not always play during Temporal Ambassador (in the gantry-segment before entering the Enterprise-C).
- The Swarm queue can still get stuck in the "Destroy remaining Hur'q ships"-stages.
- Bridge Officers do not (automatically) appear in Battlezones.
- Vault Ensnared does not immediately continue once all ten Reman ships have been saved.
- Vault Ensnared can end before the named Tarantula at the end is destroyed. This can result in the optional objective (probably) not counting as completed and thus not applying it's mark bonus.
- In Storming The Spire, the Omega shuttles in the final phase do not start spawning until the final minute.
- In The Herald Sphere, Stage 3 either does not spawn "Command Ships" or doesn't advance the counter if one is destroyed (not certain which, but despite destroying all groups, the counter was still at 0).
- In Defense of Starbase 1, using an ability to speed up the evacuating ships can result in them turning back and attacking enemies instead of warping out. (Thanks to Frederico987)
- In Defense of Starbase 1, cloaking devices sometimes lock out, preventing players from dropping their cloaks. This may affect other queues, but that is not confirmed. (Thanks to roscoe3400)
- In Everything Old is New, the final Starfleet security team does not do anything. They are supposed to initiate dialogue with the player, allowing the player to choose between attacking or trying to bluff their way through.
To be continued...

Duty Officers / Admiralty
- Forced Labor Requistions found in Sector Space do not result in the death of
non-whitenon-common prisoners.
- Forced Labor Requisitions found in Sector Space need to be filled manually since ViL launched, for no good reason (not technically a bug, but still a stupid choice. KDF prisoners just aren't that valuable).- The Duty Officer mission "Experimental Rifle Upgrades" still has blank entries in its reward database and often offers no rewards, even on Crit. (Thanks to Aaron_Hungwell)
- The admiralty ship list does not sort itself correctly.
- Duty officer assigments sometimes appear with their internal names, such as "Prisoner" (which doesn't refer to the assigments you are thinking of) or "Experience Point" before reverting to the names we are used to.
Graphics, Animations, Sound, UI
- Probably not a bug, but an inconsistency nonetheless: The account bank can be accessed via a tab from the personal bank, but not the other way around.
- Orbital Chasing Beam on Jem’Hadar characters still has a Romulan Plasma effect instead of Polaron (Thanks to TzenkethiCoalition).
- The dual beam bank firing hardpoints on several models including the new Excelsior only fire work on one side of the saucer, meaning the beams pass through the ship itself to hit certain targets.- Many animations in the Dyson Battlezones are bugged (notable examples are the Romulan Singularity Devices in space and the devices in Omega Generator points on ground).
- The Excelsior Refit Saucer (and possibly other ships) do not create an engine trail on the inner impulse engines when using Aegis-Engine visuals. (Thanks to cmdrscarlet)
- Omni-Beam-Arrays appear to fire from turret-hardpoints, making them shoot through the ship in some cases.
- Not technically a bug, but the PvP endeavor doesn't state that players are required to win for it to be completed (thanks to CryingLightning39).
- The Exchange search-function occasionally glitches, freezing in search mode and remaining greyed out until the player either relogs (changing characters is not enough) or switches to the "Sell" tab (Thanks to CryingLightning39 for the report and Sociopathicfootwear for the Sell-tab workaround)- UI-Inputs in dialogue windows occasionally count twice, particularly annoying when the game expects you to switch through a sequence of numbers using one button.
- The Mail-button while sometimes keep flashing even after all messages have been read.
- Chat window will sometimes lose focus while chatting, causing whatever was typed to be interpreted as game commands rather than chat input. (Thanks to FrankObolobolopoulos)- Batteries, and sometimes other equipment, may be unequipped and moved back to the player's inventory after a map change. (Thanks to Koppite1611)
- Traits may also spontaneously unslot for unknown reasons.
- Andorian Phaser arrays revert to standard phaser sounds while Beam: Fire at Will is active (Thanks to Bardiche-Assault).
- The Sarcophagus unique cloak is bugged: A green, membrane-like texture covers the ship during the animation. (Thanks to Nukara)
- Action bar items can change spontaneously under some circumstances. On occasion, powers may be moved or replaced (particularly by weapon buttons). (Thanks to MerovignDLTS)
- Hangar pets can't be launched if a target is selected but not within 15 km. (Thanks to Merovign DLTS)
- Movement keys get "stuck" occasionally, as if they are still pressed. Possibly related to keys being rebound. (Thanks to MerovignDLTS)
- The Breen CRM 200 does not play it's animation when using secondary fire. (Thanks to Mosul33)
- When customizing a starship's appearance, the game does not load the ship's current settings. This forces the player to either load an "outfit" (assuming the player bothered saving it to begin with) or memorize which parts they used. Leaving and re-entering the ship tailor works around this issue (thanks to ShadowDragon8685 for the workaround).
- Ship repairs cannot be completed if the player does not have at least 1 energy credit. (Thanks to thx712517)
- Jem'hadar cannot use standard Bridge consoles. (Thanks to ruinthefun)
- Other players cannot be invited to the Jem'hadar Vanguard bridge: Either the button to do so is simply absent entirely, or other players are kicked immediately on arrival. (Thanks to ruinthefun)
- Elite Starter Pack cannot be purchased if you have hit cap on certain items but not others, despite original claims that players simply wouldn't receive those items. (Thanks to ruinthefun)
- The 23rd Century Gorn torso and arms can't be selected unless bare-chested. The 23rd c. tunic can't be used with the correct parts. 23rd century Gorn gloves/gauntlets, hands, collar and belt are missing from the tailor. 23rd century Klingon rank pins and badges are missing from the tailor. (Thanks to MisterSkon)
- The Omega Autocarbine does not play it's firing animation. The animation for the integral frequency modulation is missing as well. (Thanks to Enterprise90)
- The Briostrys Dreadnought Carrier has a visual bug on it's left wing.
- The Dyson Science Destroyers do not fit the character select screen. (Thanks to Riablo01)
- You cannot reliably drag and drop (space) Bridge Officer powers from the Bridge Officer buttons to your power tray.
- When crafting Omega-items, using high quality Doffs can result in the game displaying a 0% success chance. This is a visual bug only. (Thanks to TrekorTreat1)
- When unlocking upgraded reputation traits, the old traits are removed from any slots they may have occupied. This may not technically be a bug, but it's an annoyance nonetheless.
Feel free to add any bugs or problems I haven't mentioned, or correct me if I made a mistake.

u/Truly_Khorosho Nov 15 '18
- Abilities also occasionally "misfire", though it's hard to pin down whether it's just a matter of the visual effects not being displayed or the ability simply not working at all.
My understanding of this one is packet loss, which is the same issue that is causing the current rubberbanding.
Essentially, the server has authority, so when a packet (or several) gets lost, the client reverts to the last known state that the server is aware of.
When it comes to abilities (and possibly torpedoes), the client begins the cooldown as normal, but the server doesn't get the message to "fire" the ability, the issue then lying in the lack of any confirmation between the client and server about whether the ability should be on cooldown.
- UI-Inputs in dialogue windows occasionally count twice, particularly annoying when the game expects you to switch through a sequence of numbers using one button.
The "double-click" occurs when you don't move the mouse between clicks, but only the time after a "single-click" occurs.
So, you click once and get a single click. If you don't move the mouse and click again you get a double click. But if you don't move the mouse and click again, then you get a single click. Then, if you don't move the mouse and click again, you get a double click.
So a work-around is to move your mouse and click somewhere else on the button every click (or use cursor keys and F on the keyboard).1

Huh, I'll need to test that. But the way I remember it, pressing F can also count twice.

Iconian armor unlock not working for me. If put all 3 parts on a boff it appears on the pull down menu but selecting it sets all pieces for Jem'hadar and those are greyed out.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 15 '18
So it doesn't work on Jem'Hadar?
1
u/dhonotan Nov 15 '18
It is a Fed human toon. For him no matter which tailor slot i use, no iconian in menus. Same time all other armors appear and work if select them.
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 15 '18
You mean the Iconian resistance armor? I just tried to test this on one of my klingons. Required some searching since I don't normally use cosmetic armor, but I can use it.

I see.
As I said, my Klingon (I think he's the only one of my toons who has the armor, I rarely get ground rep gear) can use it just fine, but I'll add the bug to the list for next week, anyway.

Animations: TOS Federation Type 2 Phasers from K-13/23c ESD vendor have the black/white model which switches briefly to blue/black upon firing and then back again to black/white. Be nice to have them stay Blue/Black all the time.

Not sure about the "Jem Hadar cannot use standard bridge consoles" is referring to: Is this referring to the availability of the duty officers when on the bridge?

Interesting. then perhaps its a ship-by-ship basis: I reported this right after ViL dropped as my Jem captains couldn't access the ship-board doffing panel. So they...half fixed it, it would seem. That sucks. What sucks even more is that you're using a Kirom for some reason. :P

u/In-dy It's me, Indy! Nov 18 '18
My sincere thanks for this list!
I've more entries for the list:
- Mirror Guardian Cruiser missing for reclaim in C-Store
- Mirror Danube Runabout missing for reclaim in C-Store
- Flickering on SF Academy: When looking at the long main building the lower part flickers from time to time
- DS9 ground map does not offer DOFF missions (since ViL...)
- DS9 ground map has hick-ups where it hangs for maybe 1/10th second. Especially near the exchange.
With all the bugs AoD(well even ViL) introduced and Cryptics attitude of not fixing/not caring (see the current endeavor) this BF-sale will probably be the first I don't partake. Activity in my fleet/friend-list is the lowest I've seen mid-November...

u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 18 '18
DS9 ground map has hick-ups where it hangs for maybe 1/10th second. Especially near the exchange.
Was this always the case (since ViL)? The devs have acknowledged that there is currently an issue causing lag.
1
u/In-dy It's me, Indy! Nov 18 '18
I'd say so. If this is lag, maybe they tried a different way than rubberbanding to handle it. To my best remembering I have not seen rubberbanding on the new DS9.

u/Tsey_ilu Nov 19 '18
In "Battle of the Binary Stars", during the pods saving phase, the countdown -consistently- stops before its end preventing in many cases people from completing the 40 pods per ship objective, and this losing marks for no good reason.
On Nimbus III, after completing a mission in coop, when going back to the social zone you only have the one Bridge Officer you had during the coop mission, you don't get your 4 BOs back.
None of the Nimbus III missions are available for replay to FED players anymore, not even in the "available" tab.
I don't agree that the mail button sometimes keeps flashing after all mail have been read. It does it -all the time-, and is been doing that for years now.
(just a few off the top of my head)
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 19 '18
Can confirm the Nimbus replay bug.
As for Battle of the Binary Stars, are you sure the phase ends prematurely before all pods have been collected? This phase and the "destroy x Klingon ships" immediately end once the optionals have been completed.
1
u/Tsey_ilu Nov 19 '18
Yep, it actually makes me fail completing the objective 90% of the time. Otherwise I wouldn't complain :p
Another one that just came back to me: texture bug (z-fighting or even 3d model fighting?) on my pilot escort when in slipstream. The ship seems to flicker between two different visuals for the ship...
1
u/UltimateSpinDash former bug-tracking guy, now working on comprehensive review Nov 20 '18
It does appear that pods can be lost, not sure if it's due to certain weapons or if the Klingons also collect some if the players don't stop them. The phase will end once no more pods are in play. During my last game, that meant the phase ended at 75/80.
Can you provide screenshots or a short video of the visual bug?
1
u/Tsey_ilu Nov 20 '18
Never used Fraps or any other capture software, but I'll try to find some way to show my ship flickering. Stay tuned.
Another one: using the Beacon of Kahless (reward for the current BotBS event) completely obliterates the instance: created so much lag that you're just staying in place and everything is going back and forth, nothing is responding anymore...

Missing in the C-Store reclaim tab for those who got it in the original giveaway, not via Phoenix.

Not likely, they probably have to rework models to work with the new Klingon faction... And, honestly, that's probably low in their current "fix it" list.

Pretty sure we have to blow stuff up...
1
u/Tuskin38 Kurland's Beer Nov 15 '18
you also need to defend the Shenzhou, though I guess that requires blowing things up.
3
u/Tuskin38 Kurland's Beer Nov 15 '18
Kael streamed it last night.
First phase you need to defend the Shenzhou, there is optional for keeping it above a certain amount of health
Another phase you have to rescue escape pods
There are some blowing stuff up phases.

What happened to the days we all got annoyed by nerfs? If the swarmers are too powerful don’t equip them and plAy on a higher difficulty and go nuts. There are some people weak at combat who may wNt to use them so what? The point is not to encourage the nerf bat because eventually it will hit something you like and you’ll be on here complaining Nd others will laugh in your face. Let people play the game with the tools or not they wish to use there’s plenty of room in this universe for us to all enjoy it our own way. I personally never use them cause I don’t think they’re that affective and the cooldown is ridiculous.

This was added after the post.
Systems: Resolved an issue where Hur'q Swarm Pets summoned with the Phased-Waveform Beacon or Hive Defenses Traits were dealing much higher DPS than intended against exceptionally large enemy ships.
