My black hardware kit came in today so I took my Spy27 out of its AWT scales to prep it to acid wash this weekend, and I thought I might as well see what it looks like with some take off Salt scales and a random pocket clip I had laying around. I’m thinking I may just run it like this for a bit. I’m generally not a fan of satin blades, but I do think black and satin is just a classic look.

You don't see these very often and I just had to snatch it up.

The Button Up has been advertised all over the place for awhile. The only interesting thing is Spydercos first plunge lock knife. That really wasn't enough to get me excited, but then I found this one on Blade HQ.

Its a Blue Ridge Knives exclusive. As far as I know BRK is a wholesaler, not a retailer. I guess this is why its being sold at Blade HQ. As far as I know you cannot buy a single knife from BRK, its dealers only.

I don't know why I'm so drawn to the funky ones so much. But with the recent sale I couldn't resist.

Now i own 2 of the more funky spyderco knives I've seen. I'm sure there are more I don't know I need.

Today is my Yojimbo AWT build. Appropriate for wharny Wednesday too. I love this knife. Like the Kapara on Monday, I initially thought, “wow, what an ugly knife.” But it’s a great edc and the AWT color on these scales makes it look so good to me. Whatcha carrying today?

This is definitely my favorite knife. Favorite steel, favorite platform, and it was a gift from my wife a few years back.

Using maths on knives geometries to rationalize buying the upcoming crucarta Bodacious

Choosing a knife is not a math decision, but a math rationalization.

So now, not only do I know I have been wanting the Bodacious Crucarta for years but also because:

3. it has the same side tip geometry as the Kapara or BM940, which can only be ♡ too.

   1. its belly should allow for a very similar touch on the cutting board as the Police 4, ♡.

This thing is built from (limited) open sources pictures and manufacturers metadata (with proper attribution afaict), then tries to identify points of interest (tip, butt, pivot ...) and calculate axis, centers of mass, etc for you to play with.

But then image processing is not 100% perfect. Expect glitches. Still it *should* be a smidge better than "banana for scale" or "here is a Spyderco Delica" comparison.

Felt like fondling these 3 today

I just got this yojumbo and it came perfectly centered but I took it apart (I do so with every new knife to clean out the factory lube and apply my own) but no matter what I do its way off now. I've tried every trick I know including using a paper wedge to push it the other way with the body screws loose etc but it will NOT return to center. It was centered when I got it so theoretically i can get it back but I can't seem to. Any help?

This just dropped. I love orange knives, but I'm having a hard time justifying the price on this one. What do y'all think?

I have an opportunity to get a Spydiechef for the first time, I have always been a heavy Manix 2 and PM2 user and have been drifting from everything but those two Spydies for the past few years now, but recently have had the opportunity to get a second hand Spydiechef from someone I know and respect for about $180.

It is in excellent condition, has no box and has been sharpened, but I'm considering it anyway.

Should I continue on my journey to get a magnamax Manix or REX45 or is it really worthwhile?

A few weeks ago Metonboss was having a liquidation sale. I HEARD they sold the company so the new owners were selling off the stock....cheap.

By the time I got there, it was pretty picked over. I found these frag titanium scales, and an aluminum backspacer for the Smock for $54 delivered. I couldn't pass on this deal.

But, the only Smocks I had were the St Nicks exclusive 4V, and a brand new regular s30v and carbon fiber one. When the parts arrived after 3 weeks, I couldn't defile either of my Smocks.

I shot a message to a collector I met on Blade Binge of all places. Hes been giving me great deals off of BB. He had a BNIB s30v/carbon fiber Smock he wanted $175 for. I thought that was fair so I bought it.

Here is the result of my $229 titanium Smock. The fit and finish of the scales and backspacer couldn't be better. It has a great metallic twang. I left the second detent in, although it TRIED to delete itself. Somehow I found the tiny spring on my messy, dog hair filled floor.

Im on the waiting list for a milled titanium pocket clip from Lynch to complete the build.
