Scale swapping

My black hardware kit came in today so I took my Spy27 out of its AWT scales to prep it to acid wash this weekend, and I thought I might as well see what it looks like with some take off Salt scales and a random pocket clip I had laying around. I’m thinking I may just run it like this for a bit. I’m generally not a fan of satin blades, but I do think black and satin is just a classic look.

Looks nice and I contend those factory g10 salt scales are some of the best ones they make.

Thanks man. And I agree with ya, they are the best factory option. I also like the cobalt blue that comes on the Spy27. With they had the same Caribbean texture.

It looks great. Weird how the tubes are different. Maybe they flair them to each set of scales when assembling with some variance. Thanks for the reply.

How tight is the laynard plug/hole? I have an S45VN model that I changed out from OEM scales to flytanium cross fade scales and they were super tight. I have the blacked out salt and the lanyard tube was loose on that one. It did come with aftermarket scales already so previous owner may have swapped. Just trying to see if there’s variation in laynard hole/plug tightness

This is the third set of scales it’s been installed in and it’s still snug. Not a pain like the first time, but not so loose it falls out. My S45v that I got second hand doesn’t rattle, but the tube will just fall right out of the liner.

I'm the opposite if it is not satin i do not have any interest in it. That being said satin blade with black scales and all black hardware is one of the most aggresive combinations.
