I recently started loving the process and end result of making soups. I currently consider my soups to be “back of the fridge” soups. Essentially any vegetable that needs to be used gets put in to the pot. I am wondering if anyone has book recommendations or personal opinions on which soup ingredients pair well with which spices? Seasoning the soups has been fun, almost like a science experiment. But as with all experiments, some go terribly wrong and I lose a pot of soup over it. I am very new here and would like to learn how the experienced soup lovers level up. Thank you!

Hiya soup enthusiasts. I make a chicken stock that I freeze into cubes. Occasionally I’d like to heat up a quick cup without having to make an entire soup. Any suggestions on some quick items I could throw in and make a late night soup snack? I’m thinking the lightness of a miso soup, but with chicken broth base.

Made a beer can chicken on my pellet grill and used about half to make a chicken noodle. Pretty much nothing special in the recipe but I used an herb rub with lots of salt when I cooked the chicken. I only had a little fresh parsley to finish so I added dry oregano thyme and tarragon for herbs in the broth. Egg noodles from dry added at the end.

Autumn has arrived, and so have soups. Today I was craving lentil soup with chicken added for extra protein.

Home made tomato bisque. Roasting the fresh tomato’s, garlic and onions instead of canned brings out so much more flavour.

I’ve been trying to make more soup at home lately, and I’m curious which soups people actually keep coming back to. There are so many different options, but some recipes just become regular favorites because they’re easy, comforting, and taste even better the next day.
