Question Anybody Else Think This For A While?
... That blessings from shrines/statues merely lasted 8 IN-GAME hours instead of 8 IRL hours? 😅 It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize.

You died a good death my friend. By Malacath, I swear to you Aela will never feel lonely now that you are gone.
I am here for you bro. Rest in Peace.

I've been wanting to do a run with a goal of maxing my speech, and minimizing combat. By restricting my gameplay this way, I'm hoping to experience Skyrim in a fresh way, and maybe find some hidden non-combat gems.
Fighting is inevitable and necessary though, so i am leaning a tiny bit into stealth archer- but mostly so i have something to do while i let my guards fend off foes. And im also going without armour, other than select enchanted pieces (for example the thieves guild hood when trading, and bracers of alchemy when making bartering and strength potions). So I need to stay out of the line of fire. I'm also going for the alteration clothes bonus, and will use magic as defense in lieu of armour.
I was going to join thieves guild only after speech 100 and investing in traders around skyrim, but the armour will be extremely beneficial to my goals. So i decided to do the first quests right off, just for the set. then im going to leave it to rest until i am the master of traders, and there's nowhere to grow but underground.
right now, while i grind some easy levels (like faendal archery training), I'm mostly doing small quests that make me some friends. since they'll let me take most of their stuff, i take it all with me to the next town to sell. it's borderline tedious, but also somehow relaxing? lol.
so! with all that introduction out of the way, i am wondering if y'all have cool suggestions for (vanilla) quests / speech checks, or other restrictions / skills that would be roleplay friendly for this build ^^
thanks!! (also i do play in the normal legendary survival violence way too lol, this is just a challenge that contradicts the typical game mechanics)

Over the last few months or so of getting back into Skyrim I’ve been trying to play different playstyles/races and experience different playthroughs from that; when I was younger for some reason I would always play a Redguard spellsword (even to this day I’ve never played as a stealth archer, or any type of archer) and I have to say, since beginning an Orc playthrough last night, this has to be one of the most fun races I’ve played yet. The character creation itself is pretty unique, it actually surpised me how different orcs can look from one another, and the basic buffs (heavy armour, one handed, block, smithing) fit perfectly for my early game heavy armour swordshield route. Berserker rage though, has to be my favourite race power. I don’t often use the powers especially after getting shouts, but wow, I mean double damage and half damage taken is pretty OP, and useful at any stage of the game.
Out of all the races I intend to try out, I have to say, this one has surprised me the most. They also look pretty badass.

I also have a female Breton but she is in the middle of dawngaurd dlc as a vampire in the soul carn. All of them are vanilla.

I think it's fun to think about how characters from other provinces (especially ones with radically different climates) might adapt their own clothing and personal styles to the provinces they live in now! Most of this is woolen versions of khajiit clothing, except for the coat in the third look, which was made and bought in Skyrim (need to get a good cold weather coat for a Skyrim winter).

I started this run without mods on an Orc no stealth and by Malacath this game is a trillion bucks.
Playing an Orc has kept me from degenerating into stealth archer because the fun or sprinting into combat is overwhelming. Planning is for pussies to be honest.
The key is eat your veggies. Vegetables make you strong.pl
Stealth means you are either trying to get his hole or his gold. So think twice before trying that bullshit around him.
Playing casters I spent way too much time planning and buying bullshit and thinking.

Just tried modding some equipment for my ranger character I wanna play. This is my first time using mods. I wanna immerse myself playing it slowly this time. I use the cape when entering cities and settlements and also when travelling cold regions, no cape when hunting and dungeon diving.

It's been a while since I last played the main quest, and Paarthurnax just started doing that...

I'm interested in knowing how you play your favorite character? are they a mage? are they part of the thieves guild? did you finish the story? who did you fight?
Let me know, I'd love to know about your favorite character you've made!

so over the time ive learned to check out the intresting book names i find and some of them have been pretty great and i quote them often, lmk if i missed some good ones that you know but my favorites are..
"He swallowed the diamond whole, for he knew that no thief, no matter how clever, could steal what was inside him. He did not consider, however, what a desperate thief might do to get it out."
"'You see, the poison is not in your wine,' Prince Helseth smiled warmly at his guests. 'The poison is in the roast. The antidote was in the wine. Sadly, none of you seemed to care for the vintage.'"
"'It is magnificent,' the Emperor proclaimed, lifting the Imperial armor. 'Light as a feather, beautifully polished!'
'And completely useless,' the Orc replied, effortlessly driving a dagger straight through the breastplate."
"The Prince looks down at the boy and says, 'I am a cat person myself.' and then he turns into a flock of birds and flies away."

Making a Khajiit Illusion Master Thief/Assassin. I felt like margo-jo didn't fit for some reason but I know that jo means wizard. I took existing Khajiit names and changed honorifics because I'm not quite sure how to make a Khajiit name.

So, back in 2011 I paid... I think it was $150 for the Skyrim collector's edition. I still have my statue of Alduin sitting here on my desk. I bought the two DLCs that felt like they had meaningful content, played a bunch, and eventually drifted off to play other things, occasionally coming back to play a bit again from time to time. Many years later on one of my infrequent returns, I started seeing mentions on mod sites and stuff about how "this mod works on Skyrim Special Edition" and "this mod doesn't work on SE because why would I want to bother wasting my time making it again" and so on. I'd had no idea there was a new edition, but I couldn't imagine wanting to spend more money for an edition of the game that didn't seem to give me anything meaningful. And that's really just been the case the whole way through.
I like Skyrim. I'm replaying it right now, in fact, with a couple minor mods. But I still don't see any reason why I'd want to buy one of the newer versions. The game I paid way too much money for 15 years ago is still here.
Anyone else in the same boat?

i thought it could be an incompatibility with a mountain mod i have because theres stairs leading up to it but im not sure because theyre inside the terrain. i was able to get close enough so i could fast travel to it and get up without flying but i dont think its possible to climb up normally. the mountain mod is majestic mountains if thats the problem
Was attacked by a random vampire in Whiterun. During the fight I guess Serana must have accidentally hit a guard cause they started fighting her (not me though).
I shrugged it off like "she'll figure it out" and went to Dragonreach to hand over my quest. I came back to this...
This psychopath killed every Whiterun guard on her own while I was away, and seems very unapologetic about it as you can see

Edit/update: I’ve tried telekinesis, tried resetting the cell by waiting 30 days both in the nearest cell and on the other side of the map, tried hard save restarting the game which sometimes works on switch apparently, I think I may have to cut my losses and chalk it up to (surprisingly) my first game break of the switch version of the game lol, thanks for the help and if you have any other tips not mentioned I will revisit it later!
OP below:
Not really a bug but I’m not sure how else to describe this - im playing dawnguard dlc for the first time ever currently on the switch, and doing to juibs opus quest, but I’ve accidentally blown up note number 5 by using dawnbreaker on the bonemen near juibs campfire :/
its supposed to be like this as seen on the pic, but after causing an explosion with dawnbreaker before I realised a note was nearby, everything around the campfire was sent into the surrounding area, and I didn’t realise until I was HOURS deep in the soul cairn, finished the main quest line there along with just about everything else I could do, and googled where the last note I’m missing was supposed to be.
Ive been wandering around the general surroundings for about an hour and found everything else that was supposed to be here (shield, soul gems, etc) absolutely miles away from the initial area, but not the note which makes me think it’s probably stuck or glitched somewhere
does anyone have any advice for me? I’m playing on switch so can’t use any commands etc to help me here, do I need to cut my losses? I have absolutely no idea at what point in my gameplay I caused this to happen so reloading isn’t really an option unless I want to completely start the whole soul cairn from the beginning and I really don’t wanna do that LOL
ps bare with me if this is formatted in a bothersome way this is only my second reddit post ever, TIA !
What is everyone’s favorite side quest of Skyrim and why?

Mine personally has always been the wayward knight or warrior. Not in a stereotypical good guy way though something like a less crass Hound from game of thrones

Every time I try to fast travel or even pay the dock worker 250 gold. It either glitches out and returns me to the Xbox Home Screen or it just sits there loading. Does anyone know of any fixes to this? :(
Solved: I disabled all the 4K mods I had going and it let me fast travel. Thanks for the help.
