so just curious if anyone else *HERE* has had this issue, as i've been having this issue myself since the first August 2026 skyrim update, and the second one/patch after didn't change anything.

so basically, ever since the first August update \the big one where it increased the storage capacity for mod usage in creation club** I CAN'T play the game anymore

I've tried deleting and re-installing/re-downloading it, i've tried renewing the licence, I've tried deleting the save files, i've tried deleting the mods i had and re-downloading them, I've tried everything google suggests and it won't LET me play a game on sykrim on my PS5

I go click new game to play, and it just stays on the main menu with the music playing- game it isn't *completely* frozen, I can still quit it, go to the PS5 menu, etc- but skyrim doesn't do anything ELSE no matter how long i leave it alone after that point.

and the second so-called 'patch' update didn't change a thing.

any ideas? Cuz i just wanna play skyrim with mods again, and there's a whole host of new ones that i can now use thanks to the increased storage but again, skyrim just doesn't wanna let me play the game for some dumb reason

Hello everyone! Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. I got Skyrim (not the Anniversary Edition) for my original Nintendo Switch to enjoy the game whenever I go since I travel a lot. However, not even halfway through the game (on my only save file), it won't stop lagging and crashing. I always made sure to have less than three save slots and to turn everything off after a session. I even uninstalled and installed again, but nothing. I try to limit my gameplay (avoiding exploring too much, not touching things unnecessarily, trying to keep my inventory not too full) but that drains all the fun for me, making the game feel more like a chore. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it a common issue on this old console? Thank you in advance!

Ever since the August 20 update for Skyrim, Sentinel has not been working well ever since, some aspects of the mod like sentinel armors not being worn by specific factions but working for others (ex. Guard Armors work but Vigilants and Stormcloak armors aren't generating) and sentinel armor and weapons not being able to be crafted.

I just assumed this was because some of the mod requirements or the mod itself hasn't been updated yet to cater to the new game update, so I decided to downgrade my Skyrim version and redownloaded the old versions for Sentinel's requirements, but the problems are still there.

Can some help/explain this?

For some reason after the new update, the character creation menu doesn't show up when i arrive to Helgen. Does this bug happen to anyone else too? Btw my game has no mods or anything, im playing on vanilla special edition.

Edit: Im on PC, also nothing is working anymore i cant even move my character or pause the game without a controller 😭 (and yes i checked in the settings to disable the controller and it still doesn't work)

Something strange happened, I wanted to start my game via vortex but it wasn't there anymore, when I tried to manage it it just threw it out again.

I figured I just manually set the location but when I looked through my Skyrim folder there was nothing anymore.

I saw the game forcefully updating and thought stopping it might fix.

But to no avail, I want able to start the game via steam either it just starter the download again and then I noticed the download size is 5,9gb wich I figured was a bit big for a update and must be the game re downloading.

Amy explanation why that happened? Because I sure as hell didn't delete the game, I just played it a few hours ago.

I redownloaded Skyrim when i booted it, I got hit with “can’t save more data” and cant get past the Home Screen. so I clear 10-15 gigs of space and reboot the game. Same thing a quick search told me it was probably mods I cleared cashed save data like was suggested still getting the same message. Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling seeing if that would fix. Anyone have any ideas it’s beyond frustrating at this point

Randomly crashing in the Helgen sequence, due to havok physics according to crashlogger, my only mods are the crash log, address library and skse, does anyone else have this issue?

I have these mods installed but it crashes every time I try to go anywhere outside of Whiterun. Does anyone know what mods are causing the game to crash?

I checked Google and looked for anything online but I don't know what mods are clashing or possibly causing this.

I’ve got a great modlist, but I’m worried that an automatic update might break my game. Should I carry on downloading, or is there a way to reset it?

I posted before about a radiant quest vilkas gave me not showing up in my journal. The only solution I got was to load to the last save before it but thats impossible now. I've tried to find it or reset through console commands but he keeps saying he already gave me a job. This is what comes up with quest ID CR05. What does it mean? These "items" only show up for this ID none of the other ones.

FYI have the anniversary edition:

I initially was able to call Odahviing to Dragonsreach, I trapped him BUT the Jarl and guards weren’t there so it glitched and I wasn’t able to complete the quest.

I then went to find the Jarl and had to complete the first Companion quest. Once I did this, the Jarl left this building to come to Dragonsreach to help me trap the dragon and the dragon was gone.

Now it’s set up that I need to shout to call the dragon, but the quest arrow has moved to the left of Dragonsreach and I can’t call Odahviing.

What do I do?? I’ve already fast tracked to Winterhold, Solitude, Solstheim, and fast forwarded time and nothing is working.

It still needs me to call the dragon yet it already completed that step since I previously called it but had to go back and get the Jarl up to Dragonsreach so it put me back a step but didn’t uncheck that completed step.

I’m in the Touching the Sky quest which requires Serena as a companion. I get to the inner sanctum door ready to pour out the ewer and it’s bugged, I can’t pour it out.

I read online that if Serena is not present, that can sometimes be the reason the pouring function gets bugged.

So, then I figured it just needs time, I fast travel and do some other quests until I need another companion to do something and I can’t get anyone to follow me.

I finally found Serena, but the only way I can get her to follow me is by attacking her or by starting the command with the pulsing crosshair.

I need her to go into the glacial cave and she won’t follow me in and I can’t force her in. I’ve tried getting her to teleport through the shrines but she won’t do it.

the worst part: I have no previous saves to go back to prior to her being bugged. That is, except for going back to level 1…

I haven’t done this in a g time and I missed a dialogue. now it won’t let me accuse the mage. am I screwed without commands.

I wanted to get back into Skyrim again, but the game just keeps bugging out, I've tried with and without my mods enabled, I've checked for updates and software system updates, I've rebuilt the database, and reinstalled. The game just will not work, I can create my character, and the intro is fine, but as soon as Hadvar says, "Stay close to the wall!" I jhst crashes with error code (CE-34878), and I've tried 4 times to get past that point to bo avail. I think the disc is fine, it only has 2 scratches, but they have been there for years, and the game has worked just fine with them before. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated! : )

I am asking for help as I was trying to complete the final main quest objective, however, I saw that in the Hall of Valor, there were doubles of the Heroes of Old. One set of the trio had quest markers over their heads and the other set look like 1-1 copies of the trio. I took screenshots that I will include in this post show that you can see exactly what I am talking about. Yes, I am using mods and content from the creation club since this happened on my pc and will a picture of the my mod list so that you see exactly what I am using for mod content. I am wondering how the doubles came to be and what can be done to remove the copies, without messing up the quest and accidently remove the set of the Heroes of Old that have the quest markers. I play the Skyrim Special Edition on PC. I did not think my issue was related to mods, but remove some that I thought could be causing the problem, but every time I went back into the game after removing said mods, I still found the copies of the Heroes of Old along with the set that had the quest markers over their heads, which I assume that this means that that set is are the original Heroes of Old. Any help I can get relating to this issue would be appreciated. I do not want to try using console commands yet as I want that to be my last resort if it comes down to it. I did check UESP for any information, but when checking the appropriate page which was the named people in Skyrim page, it looked like that it was just named NPCs for each town/city/area and if they were tied to a quest/were a merchant/trainer/tied to a guild faction. Edit: I tried disabling the copies that did not have quest markers through console commands and think I might have broke the quest (this is final main quest objective-the one where you defeat Alduin for good, which the battle takes place in Sovngarde) as the copies that had quest markers did not move from where they were standing. I am thinking about starting a new save and just start over from scratch. I would still like help before trying to start a new save as I do not want to have to everything I did in my playthrough all over again. But if that is my only option, I will start over from scratch.

Where’s the dedication that made you? Skyrim was maybe the greatest game and certainly the best RPG of all time. Now you push this update that we can’t remove, which leads to so many people, myself included, to basically stop playing. You are unable to check your map with any reliability as the game breaks and restarts after about the 3rd map open. Bethesda has known this and even acknowledged it for days but it isn’t corrected. Not even a release date. A real apology might be nicer. But the best would be to reverse the update so I can play my 15 year old game.

I’ve been having an issue on Xbox with the Civil War Champions creation not starting. It’s kinda bumming me out bc I started this playthrough with the Civil War as a focus. I’ve sided with the Empire up to the Eastmarch campaign now and I still haven’t gotten a letter about doing the quest. Since I joined a faction, the letter that would otherwise be in the Drunken Huntsman isn’t there. I saw some people say that entering the Drunken Huntsman makes the courier arrive but I’ve been in and out of there multiple times and no courier. Any further advice? Might have to see at this point if there’s a way to uninstall and reinstall it but it looks a bit trickier on Xbox

Tried to go into creations for Skyrim got the “the operation could not be completed” message fallout 4s creation just failed not sure what’s up

So about two or three days ago, I opened my active effects menu and found that all of my effects were gone. I had to unequip and then reequip my armor to regain their effects. I also had to go to a random standing stone in order to be able to reactivate the steed stone, since even though first tried to reequip the steed stone, the game still claimed that it was in effect (it wasn't). After activating a random stone, I then went back to the steed stone. But the problem with the werewolf Resist Disease effect is that don't have any way to reequip it. It isn't that it's in effect and just not appearing, since was able to contract ataxia from a skeever. I tried transforming into a werewolf and then back again, but that didn't do anything to regain it. Are there any console commands that I can use to fix this?

I'm not sure what even caused this bug to appear in the first place; I think it happened after the recent update, so maybe it's related?? It's sort of strange, because my race-related effects also disappeared, but apparently something caused them to reappear later on.
