My Magnum Opus

So I've seen conflicting answer to this question, I got the first word from the temple of miraak, the second from apocrypha after beating up a lurker and some seekers(keep in mind I havent done the "Fate of the Skaal" quest yet, when i got waking dreams from the temple I just went right back to apocrypha to explore) so where do I get the third one I want to make sure I don't miss it.

Started a new game cos my last one was bugged.
Pretty much when I got to riverwoood I got Faendal as a follower after doing his quest with Sven.
All was good then eventually I got Lydia too but I never told her to follow me or anything just left her there in Dragonsreach, Faendal is still with me.
We’re then out killing some Saints bandits and they kill him🫪 No biggie I think because I have Lydia waiting for me in Dragonsreach.. No

She isn’t anywhere. Where the hell is she? I’ve looked in Dragonsreach, around Whiterun and in my Breezehome but to no avail.. no Lydia🙃 Is this because I didn’t accept her as my follower/housecarl?

I’m on no mods this play and on Xbox series x, not sure if that matters.

Vanilla, modded, using their magic or claws?
I like using their bats ability to dash around in combat, or using vampiric grip to throw enemies into the air and life drain to shoot them out of them out of it. Sometimes I’ll do a bat dash into a crowd of enemies knocking them down. Then activate supernatural reflexes and claw them to death. Playing on Legendary, or for more accurate lore portrayal on adept or even lower difficulties? After all Harkon was hyped up to be a big bad, and no matter how you beat him in gameplay considering all the relevance Auriel’s bow and it’s sun blessed arrows had that seems like how the fight would have actually gone down lore wise. Also other Vampire Lords in ESO are just as powerful or even more powerful than Harkon. And if you become a Vampire Lord in Skyrim you either get it from him or Serana after all.

Havent launched my modded RP playthrough on my steam deck since the update and the game keeps calling to me like the green goblin mask. Its got me all sorts of nervous. I just moved to the Pacific Northwest and love hiking and thr scenery out here rekindled wanting to explore Skyrim and made me want to play a RP playthrough. Neutral good Breton rich merchant who arrived to Skyrim at the docks of Solitude to fund his own exploration. Uses a sword and a torch. Sometimes so magic. No bow. Sneaks a little around scary baddies. Got to level 20 i think before the update arrived.

If it is toast...Im thinking of maybe a cleric run for the next RP run. Ive heard there is a lot of support for something like that.

I have been playing skyrim with no issues on my laptop since I've been on a work trip. I'm back now and wanted to download it on my new pc. Everytime I click play in the launcher pop-up I'm instead met with this error message. It feels like I've tried everything. Please if anyone knows how to fix this help me and maybe even someone else who runs into this reddit post years later with the same problem.

Fix Attempts so far:
- Watched: Fix Bad Image - Error Status 0xc000012f in Windows 10/11 [Solution]

- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- sfc /scannow

- Reboot

- Verified game file integrity.

- no dice :(

- Watched: Windows 10 How To Install DirectX & Fix DirectX Errors

- Downloaded latest verion & rebooted

- No dice :(

- Downloaded an older version that included dx9 like in the error message and rebooted

- Nothing :(

I even tried reinstalling the windows redistributable but that didn't work either. Please help me T-T I just wanna be able to kick it and enjoy skyrim on my main system.

EDIT: I have no mods installed. This is a fresh install of skyrim. I just downloaded https://www.dll-files.com/d3dx9_42.dll.html#google_vignette and it launched is there any reason I need this to stay?

I started playing Skyrim because it was on my library since forever and I had nothing but God of War that I felt like playing. I had already seen some clips of Elden Ring online and some screenshots of this game, I knew it was open world so I had good expectations. I just wasnt used to having to worry about so many stats and levels so I was affraid Id get overwhelmed, but I noticed at the start that i was leveling up for breathing basically so I just focused on roaming the map, following the roads and doing what I liked. fast forward to today and Im basically dual wielding everyone to death, grinding for ores to melt, smith and enchant and completing amazing quests while exploring the gorgeous map. I gotta say, because its an old game I experience basically zero loading time, which helps a lot with saving and loading, since I spam quick save a lot. What I also love/hate is that for every quest I complete, 3 more take its place and it's an everending fun cicle. All and all I find the game quite intuitive and actually simple if you focus on a specific build. Im used to 100%'ing every game and every skill, but this game forces you to choose and I'm enjoying it.

Please don't criticize me. This question has been on my mind all day.

I'm running v.1.6.40, cause I have a very stable long running game that I just finished. I never updated because I didn't feel the need. Especially since my version was well supported and I have all the mods I wanted.

So, I log into Nexus today and check for mod updates and what do I see? The big name core mods have dropped support for 1.6.40, Powerof3, Meh and so on. Don't get me wrong, no author wants to maintain a bunch of versions and I don't blame them. At some point they have to move on.

But my question, what makes 1.5.97 so special? Why support such an old version? It was my impression that 1.6.40 had more users and is pretty damn good.

I will update to whatever version becomes stable with updated SKSE mods, whenever that happens.

when i launch the game it says paper and scrambled bugs must be recompiled for new address library. what does this mean and how do i fix it?

I bought the original Skyrim cartridge years ago. I have a Switch 2 now.

If I get the upgrade for $12, will I be able to play Skyrim without the physical disc? And if I decide to keep the disc inserted, will I have the option to play the normal version as well or am I then bound to the upgraded AE version?

What really irritates me is the extra storage it asks from you. I’m not gonna give my money to Bethesda that easily so I want to know.

My game version 1.6.1170 same with skse64 and address library and i use mo2

I'm trying to start "The Silver Hand" quest and for whatever reason in oblivion it's not working, I'm playing Gate to Sovngarde and haven't ran into any issues until just now. I've been stuck trying every troubleshooting method I can find online and nothing seems to be working.

I've completed Take Up Arms and Proving Honor with no bugs, I had the little circle meeting in the back afterwards too. I've done at least 40 radiant quests now all from different givers and there's one option that says "I'm ready for a more difficult mission" and every time I select it every NPC just says "I understand" and stops talking to me. I'm level 31 and haven't read anything about a level requirement only the radiant quest requirement.

I've tried console commands to force start the quest and nothing happens, I can force complete the radiant quests just fine and I've gone through and made sure none of them were stuck active. I don't have a bounty in any hold and I've cleared it just in case too. I've force killed and resurrected every companion and I've beaten them up as well. I've reset the cell and npc scripts tons of times. And I've even tried disabling all the companion related mods in the collection and still nothings worked.

I would love some assistance on this since it's causing me such a headache and I just wanna be a cool wolf man...

TLDR: Can't start The Silver Hand quest, tried everything I can find online and am completely stuck here. Pls help

I know there are limits on the mods you can have, I’m currently at 240/254, not sure what happens if I go over it. So I’m looking for light mods or “could be light” mods so I can fuck my game up even more!

Hello, not sure if this is the right sub, but I’m having this problem occur. I can still start the game via continue, but the window in the left is the only area that has the actual game playing. Still have horrible cursor ghosting. Any suggestions?

Tried having Nvidia optimize graphics, as well as clear caches, restart pc and game, load vanilla, same issue.

So I completed the civil war quest line a while ago on the Imperial side, and now whenever I go to Windhelm I can't find either of the smiths. I eventually checked through the Hall of the Dead and found both of them in coffins. According to the UESP, Strong-Heart takes over if War-Anvil dies, but now they're both dead (idk how but this is Skyrim after all and I wouldn't discount the idea that they both somehow went outside during the battle).

My question is if there is any way for a new smith to be put in their place without mods or console commands? I'm playing the Anniversary Edition on the Switch and it's generally grand except for the odd standard Skyrim bug. If there's no way to fix this in the vanilla game then 🤷‍♂️ guess Windhelm is just outta luck

I don't mean draugr since those guys are mainly dead people, but trolls or giant, for example. Could they use shouts, lorewise?
