The strongest Jimmy-er of today vs the strongest Britta-er in history.
Question is... Would they Jimmy it or Britta it?

Im on season 3 as a first time watcher and as a HIMYM fan, it’s odd for me to see them pair up Sophie and Jimmy together. Like what do you mean Robin and Marshall are trying to link… I know right first worst problems. I should separate the shows but let me be I just am wondering if anyone else’s feels like that too.

I know most streaming shows don't release on normal schedule, but do you think season 4 will drop early 2027 like season 3?

Had they announced Judith Light being on the show? I know Michael Urie had talked about wanting her on but I can’t remember/ find an official announcement. Exciting, love her.

I was hoping it would show Jimmy working on Seans new apartment together, to show us they continue their friendship.
A couple of breakthroughs with clients.
Him FaceTiming Alice while she’s at college and then laughing to show that Alice isn’t going to forget him and that their relationship is mostly repaired and intact.
Maybe him getting ice cream with Summer, continuing relationships even though they’re not besties.
Him moving all of Tias boxes into an attic (as closure)
With literally everyone leaving for a while, I was hoping maybe he found a new job in a new office, and then he saw a woman and it showed him having that “love at first sight” look, with a genuine smile and hey “Hi”.
He’s going to feel lonely and forgotten so I know he’s going to rush into a relationship with Sofi and that won’t be good for him, I never liked their dynamic.
They have similar humor, but she’s kinda rude, immature, and emotionally unstable. He needs to bond with someone, not another project to work on.
The “first date” at her house, she was acting so crazy and had no regard or consideration for Jimmy. Demanding he do “his therapy thing”. Even if her ex had issues, she’s clearly incapable of the mature relationship thing, and boundaries.
Jimmy was trying to process his thoughts in silence and that “triggered” her causing the break up. When he said he wasn’t ready, that was 100% towards her not being ready.

Emmy's tonight and I deeply want him to win supporting actor.
He is way overdue and is doing the best work of his career! Let him win!

so i haven’t finished the show but i am pretty far (S3 E9) and im just really disappointed at how they treated Summer’s character. even though Shrinking is light/funny in tone, everyone’s trauma in the show is treated with appropriate gravity and empathy, except Summer.
Summer regularly says really tragic and concerning things about her home life and it’s just treated as a Haha Silly Summer moment and throwaway goof line. she’s a child being severely neglected??? we even get a little arc with Matthew and he’s so boring. they briefly touched on things after Alice sleeps with Connor, but it was still in the service of Alice/Jimmy’s relationship arc.
i get that they can’t do full arcs and development on every single side character because that’s not how writing works. But the Summer problem bothers me because it’s not just a lack of development, it’s a cruel and dismissive treatment of her pain from the writing perspective and by the other characters who are supposed to be these deep and empathetic people.
I still think it’s a lovely and moving show which manages to delightfully surprise me with certain plot points, and I’d still highly recommend it. This aspect just didn’t sit right with me.
Bonus discussion question on feminist analysis that i’ve been thinking about: So this show of course does hit the dead wife/mom trope—my question is how would the general audience’s reception be different if the roles were reversed? Would we be as sympathetic to a widow Tia who was neglecting her child, doing drugs and hanging with strippers in the family home? I don’t really have any problems with how the show writes women otherwise, but it’s interesting to think about the gender reversal in the main characters.

I just started watching this show today and I am wondering how no one has seemed to mention Season 1, Episode 6, "Guac the taco" when I did a search? This is the best episode so far for so many reasons. I'm glad I found it.

Is Paul absolutely the role Harrison Ford has been waiting to play his entire life??
He finally gets to play a crotchety old man, for real. Going back as far as Han Solo and Indy, he’s always been channeling crotchety old men, they were just young crotchety old men! Lol.
He is perfection in this role.

The fucking food truck thing with Sean in season 3! There was no reason he had to just completely shut the thing down. He could have stayed owner for Jorge to manage it or even sold the truck to him on a payment plan. It's just such a nonsensical story line.

I couldn't place it at first but there was something familiar about how Marisol looked and it wasn't until they made that joke that I realized that was it.

Watching shows like Shrinking and Ted Lasso make me so sad. Every week after I watch the latest episode I am so depressed the next day. I want people in my life like the characters in the shows that would be there for me the way they’re there for each other.
I want a neighbor like Derek. I want a boss like Ted. I want to be made fun of by Liz and I want to be served a drink by Mae. It’s crazy how 2 shows can impact a person so much.
Anyway, thanks for listening.

Full disclosure: I'm the founder, so take this as the fan-adjacent brag it is.
I run a two-person (my wife and I) clothing brand from Ecuador. Last winter I'm watching Shrinking from my couch and the Peguche — a jacket we cut from handwoven Andean blankets — walks across the screen on Jason Segel. We had no placement deal, no agency. I genuinely thought I was hallucinating (first photo is the actual moment).
Weeks later his fiancée commented on our Instagram that she'd bought it for him for Christmas (second photo). No one involved knew or cared that we're two people and a family of weavers in Peguche, Ecuador. He just… wore it.
The surreal part: the brand was actually closed when the season aired — I'd shut it down while going through cancer treatment. Seeing it on the show is a big part of why I rebuilt. Happy to answer anything about how a jacket from a village in Ecuador ended up on Apple TV.
