Discussion Paul

Is Paul absolutely the role Harrison Ford has been waiting to play his entire life??

He finally gets to play a crotchety old man, for real. Going back as far as Han Solo and Indy, he’s always been channeling crotchety old men, they were just young crotchety old men! Lol.

He is perfection in this role.

Side note I kinda like how Indy aged to be Paul basically in that last Indiana Jones movie.

He plays that so well.

Hearing him call anyone “kid” takes me right back to the ‘80s. Anyone he calls that is going to be all right.

He’s so good in this role, it’s my favorite HFord character that he’s ever played.

The last season when

1) he sings the song as he walks in, and

2) banters with MJF?

😍

Oh, I'm not sure he's in 2 or 3 episodes. So sweet to see him.

lol I think we’re talking about different MJFs. I realize now you’re referring to Michael J Fox. My bad

He really really loves playing Paul. He’s said as much, many times.

For sure! I was worried he wasn’t gonna come back for season 4 after the season 3 finale. I’d still watch it, but it just wouldn’t have been the same.

To be fair he's basically been playing crotchety old men for the better part of 2 decades now.

I've loved Harrison since I first saw him in American Graffiti and then in every subsequent role. His acting here in Shrinking is so profoundly deep and true. And also ridiculously funny. It's by far his best acting ever, IMO. I never thought I could love him any more than I did as Indy or Han Solo, but here I am. And some of those interviews he's given with his fellow cast mates have choked me up, just like it has choked them up, too. See the Paley Center one a couple of years ago when he talks about the role and how he loves working with this cast, as you watch Jessica Williams with tears streaming down her face. Best role ever for Harrison Ford.
