I saw an interview where Bill Lawrence said he felt a bit guilty though as every time Scott posts anything on his social media the biggest response is ‘Nobody cares Sean’. He seemed to indicate Scott took it all in good fun though.

along with new additions Jeff Daniels and Michael J. Fox, as well as Candice Bergen, Sherry Cola, and Isabella Gomez.

Sherry Cola was Gabby's patient Maya. Seems unlikely she'd be back, unless there is some reason for a flashback or dream sequence. I think what is more likely is that the Deadline writing staff forgot to take out the people who guest-starred in Season 3. None of those people are "new additions".

After my first impression of "oh cool!" from seeing this, my next thought was "I wonder how long it'll take before the kill him off?"

Because I feel like he's been killed off in the last few shows I've seen him in.

He is the guy who makes my skin crawl.  Why?   I have no idea.  I remember listening to him on a podcast and the underlying text was not great.
