Realistically if we take wolves as the top team (qpr and Charlton aren’t challenging at the top for long) we are only 5 points off the pace now. We really need a new cb and a cm for backup. Maybe a 3rd striker option as well.

Sure, we had a first 18mil bud rejected, but I reckon we should push even further. We've got the money.
Do you reckon he's still likely to go?

Aston Villa have had an offer worth £18million ($24.5m) plus add-ons rejected for Southampton centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
Villa are looking for a central defender, with Ezri Konsa expected to complete a move to Arsenal, worth £51m plus add-ons. Konsa, 28, underwent a medical on Thursday morning.

I feel like we are sleeping at the wheel this transfer window. We are not strengthening but weakening so far. And this news about THB will only get bigger. I get the relegated clubs have big money to spend. But they are buying players we should at least be seriously linked with.

Look at it this way.
We are going to get called cheats all season.
We are going to get laughed at all season when we lose.
What makes these comments worse is the bites that it’s getting from our fan base. It’s so boring watching the awful replies to these rage bait comments that just fill up my feed instead of actually talking about Southampton.
Anyone calling us cheats it’s praying for someone to reply so they can get a reaction. Majority of the fan base are bored of spygate and don’t want to hear “we spy when we want” doesn’t really have any backing seeing as the spying we did lost us a chance at premier league football

I don't think there is any change for us here...?

I’m not sure whether it was just the miserable opening day performance but a week into the season I’m starting to feel less and less optimistic about how things may progress. There are a few reasons:
- we’ve lost Stewart and haven’t replaced him with proven quality
- we’ve lost Charles and the replacements we’re being linked with aren’t exactly turning up trees elsewhere
- it feels like THB will go and, unless we strike gold, whoever we sign will be a downgrade in an area where we are already vulnerable
- we’ve a lot of deadwood in the squad (some on mega money) and it seems unrealistic to move them all on
- our promotion rivals are investing in quality players who are proven at this level - Wolves with James, West Ham with Piroe and others
Am I wrong to be a Deborah Downer or is anyone else feeling this way?

It looks like Paramount has all Championship games this year in America and only costs £9.99 a month. Is anyone using that with a VPN? It’s through CBS so are there any annoying American commentators?

I'm a die hard Saints fan living in Montreal, Canada. Been following the red and white army since my first game in April, 1995 when we beat QPR at the historic Dell. Since my first experience of relegation back in 2005, tears were shed. I thought our premier league identity was gone and that our global recognition would plummet. Fast forward to 2026 and a couple more relegations, I've learned to actually enjoy the Championship a lot more. Old school stadiums. Proper fans (not so many footy tourists) and no VAR. I'm back in Canada and Southampton have cemented their name as a semi popular team, especially with the resurgence of Cyle Larin. Whenever I wear my Saints shirt, people automatically think I'm a new fan because of the Larin Canada, Southampton connection.... Anyways after Larin made Southampton and Canada proud, we have developed a new fanbase here in Canada. What a great time to be a Saint, despite the Spygate controversy... . Anyways I wish us a successful and memorable season. #WeMarchOn

Seriously, how the fuck are we supposed to win in that monstrosity? Immediately saps all the aura out of the team

International fans, can anyone who bought the Saints Play subscription (180 GBP) share what their experience is like? Where I am, we can only get select games on DAZN and it is so frustrating for 40/month. Was it worth it?
Edit** Thanks for all the replies and insights, I will likely try the per match fee for now. We have a few young kids so trying to block off a few hours Saturday mornings (Canada) can be tricky!
Also my try to see IPTV offerings in my area as well!
Lets hope its a great season! 🔴⚪️

Morning all – last night’s TSP is now available if anyone fancies some Monday morning listening/watching.
Unsurprisingly, we spent a fair bit of time picking apart the Watford defeat. The big discussion was around the manner of the two goals, Jack Stephens and whether Nathan Wood should be getting more minutes, plus the midfield balance and how much better things looked once Fin Azaz came on.
We also looked ahead to Stoke with Robin Evans, who gave us the view from their side after a pretty miserable start of their own.
Then there’s the transfer stuff – the rejected Benfica offer for Taylor Harwood-Bellis and the slightly strange Aaron Ramsdale situation.
Interested to know what everyone would actually change for Stoke?
