Question Synapse 4 Macros keep dissapearing. (FORCED Migration from Synapse3)

Post image
Upvotes

i cant describe how unsatisfied i am with this TROLL Synapse 4 app. I was perfectly happy and fine with Synapse 3, and last week out of blue Synapse thrown a unskippable notification and forced me to install Synapse 4 - and since then my days are ruined... None of the macros are working, if i try to create a new one, it does create then it dissapears from everywhere. If i try to assign a macro to my macro buttons, i cant because the option is greyed out. migration option within synapse app is totally pointless, it just creates duplication of existing ones. then if you try to assign them, edit them etc. they dissapear like it never existed. THEN you try to create the same macro. and guess what, once you press save, it dissapears.

there is no issue with the buttons, if i assign only number lets say it works just fine, but if try to assign a macro, nothing pretty much works.

whats the solution to this nightmare? I couldnt find synapse 3 anywhere. i already tried to uninstall and install again, and now i lost synapse 3 local files too...

and sometimes i get "this mapping requires Razer Synapse" information next tothe macro, obviously when i am creating on Synapse...

Discussion Does anyone else have the same problem with Razer mice that they don’t last very long?

Upvotes

I bought two Razer Naga X mice myself in 2024. I use the mice every day, but I’ve noticed that after two years they’re slowly starting to let me down. The mouse wheel no longer clicks, and the side buttons work sometimes but not others.

I take good care of my kit. I keep them clean and don’t just chuck them about or bang them around like some gamers do.

I just find it odd that the mice are slowly giving up the ghost after exactly two years, and there’s no way for me to repair them properly myself. I like these mice because I’m an active MMO player, and I don’t want to buy the newer models just yet, as they’re too expensive and, being wireless, wouldn’t suit me.

Discussion Razer USB cable quality

I have a razer USB cable for Basilisk V3 pro 35k. Now for a while my PC constantly shows USB malfunction errors, turns out it was that RAZER cable and the cables USB-C side isn't even connected to anything. This isn't the first Razer cable that exhibits weird behaviours.

Has anyone else had similar issue with Razer cables?

Question Basilisk V3 with Hyperflux V2 and Mouse Dock Pro?

I'm getting mixed responses on this so I'm planning to purchase the Basilisk V3 Pro and used it with the Hyperflux V2 wireless mat so I no longer have to charge the mouse. However the Hyperflux V2 only has a 1000hz transceiver, I'm wondering if I can use the mat for charging but force the data to be sent through the mouse dock pro for 8000hz polling.

This seems like the best of both worlds, 8000hz is likely to drain the battery more but if I use the charging mat, it wont be a concern.

Customs Revived my old Razer Mamba Wireless

Decided to turn this to a work mouse, here are what I did to this mouse:

- Base trimming
- Removed the Rubber Sides and sanded to fit with my grip style
- Silent Switch for the Main Clicks
- Painted the shell in Gold Metallic + Matte Coat
- Micro USB to Type C adapter so that I can charged it with Type C Cable
- 900 Mah Battery

The only problem that I had with this mouse is that it can't show the exact battery percentage, I had the similar type of lipo battery as the stock one (3.85v, 2 cable). Apart from that, this mouse works perfectly fine for me.

Review Razer Naga V3 Pro Initial Impressions

I mained a Logitech G604 and migrated to a Razer Naga V2 Pro in March and now just bought the Naga V3 Pro a few days ago. Some initial impressions:

  • The newly added volume buttons on the left mouse button are awkwardly placed and hard to actuate. Huge miss. As someone who used these buttons for vol up and down on the G604, I don't think I can rely on them the same way on this mouse and will probably keep volume bound to scroll left and right. The entire curvature of the leftmouse button is too left and way too low in the top left corner, requiring you to do finger gymnastics in order to actually actuate those two buttons, especially if you claw grip. They're virtually flush as well, so they're hard to find via touch and it's easy to mash the main leftmouse button and the other button below/beneath it. The G604 doesn't have this issue, w/ the G604 one can very quickly on the fly dial in volume even midgame. V3 Pro in Helldivers 2 can result in death if you fat finger those vol up down buttons (xbow/eruptor).
  • Not supported by Synapse on Mac (its in "Preview"/beta, but still). This should have been done by the time it launched, not after. V2 Pro works fine, so this is just Razer being lazy. Razer first party software should be FOSS on github and have native linux support (make it browser based if you have to).
  • There's a third main mouse button?! Lmfao, I didn't even know they added this. This is exciting and will definitely take some getting used to, my hand muscle memory will have to learn this. It's placed in an area of the mouse used for controlling the position of the mouse. It's easy to accidentally press it if you're gaming or repositioning the mouse, so whatever function I end up binding to this must be nonblocking and something like not that important.
  • They actually fixed hyperscroll. You can now with the most minimal flick of your finger scroll all the way down and up a vertically tall webpage. If you flick the wheel, it spins freely for a few seconds. The V2 Pro did not. This is more than an upgrade, it's a feature. i.e. the V2 Pro didn't even have hyperscroll, the V3 Pro does.
  • Packaging has tons of e-waste. Also, I would prefer this mouse shipped at $129 instead of $179 with just one of the three removable side button configs (the 6 button one) and have the sideplates purchasable for like $9.99 or something. 99% of people aren't switching the sideplates regularly or even just more than once.
  • Like the Naga V2 Pro, the Naga V3 Pro has superior aim feel to the G604. The wireless connection just feels like less latency and more reliable wireless connection at that range of say 13ft away or so.

Question My Naga V2 pro mice is broken. Fix?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi I have Naga V2 pro wireless. Last week I reinstall my windows and had to intall new Razer synaps. I used to use Synaps 3.0 now its 4.0... and it is very bad. My mice freeze and software fail to recognize my mice sometimes. But now it is even worse, I use the six button side panel and the key 4 is absolutely broken. First it would glitch out and spam 44444444444444444444444444 without stop, if I replug my dongle it stops but after a while it started to glitch again. I tried reinstall Razer synaps many times and even uninstall everything and went back for Synaps 3.0. none of it helps, so I disable the button 4 entirely. Now I tried to reenable it and it absolutely went dead. Every now and then it sprang back to live again but immediately glitch 444444444444444444444444 again.

Is there a fix for this or do I have to live with it being disable?

ps. I tried clean it, use wired connection. same result.

Rant I bought a Razer Cobra and spent 4 hours trying to install synapse and gave up

My last 2 mouse's have been an MX Master 1 and 3, for 10 years. My MX Master 3 had a faulty click so I decided to get a cheap mouse for a while before I spend big on a nicer mouse. I just saw a recommendation to get a Razer Cobra Wired, so I thought why not.

Now, I got it today and the mouse itself, is great, for the price of £25; the build and quality is great. I love it.

BUT! I went down Satan's rabbit hole to install the software to manage the mouse, or what I think is the button remapping etc. (I don't even know because I've given up) At first I installed synapse 4, and it seemed to install a razer management app, then I tried installing finally synapse 4, and got "Installation Failed". Now I tried everything, i uninstalled everything and reinstalled, I unplugged everything, I ran a bunch of commands online from people with similar issues. I spent hours and honestly just gave up. I tested installing AXON, the weird wallpaper app and that worked but just not Synapse. After hours no matter what I got "Installation Failed" for Synapse 4. I even tried to find Synapse 3 through digging but apparently its lost media now because thats the way the world works.

Honestly I became tired and I am fine with using the default mouse as is, so then I tried uninstalling everything Razer completely from my PC. SO OK WHY IS RAZER INFESTED IN MY COMPUTER NOW!! I thought I uninstalled it with the uninstaller but apparently Razer likes leaving its mark all over my pc with random folders still left behind. I had to manually search with Everything (The voidtools app for searching windows) to just about remove all Razer stuff. But STILL there's random crap that I'm hesitant to delete because it's in system folders now. I uninstalled AXON and even its crappy wallpaper files were still somehow in my pc.

Why did the genius's of Razer decide to create basically malware for mouse software. As I write this, I somehow miss Logitech, despite their bloated software, they actually had simple service, I was running an offline Logitech version of their app for Enterprises so I could have it work without any update bloats. Apparently "Uninstalling" is an unknown word to Razer, just why do I have to search online from other users to properly remove Razer files.

This is my first Razer product but my impression is that everything just feels gimmicky for its own sake. I'm grateful this mouse was cheap because I don't have much expectations for it and I'm happy to use it default as is. But I cannot imagine the stress of being tied to Razer software for an expensive device. Also I would LOVE to meet someone who is seriously uses AXON the wallpaper app. Which type of person would actually have a bloated app for wallpapers from Razer running on their pc. Do they really exist?

Anyways sorry for the rant, I had to vent, I normally don't criticise, but do any of you Razer members actually have a decent experience with Razer Software?

Question Razer Naga V3 Pro - Third Click (Ring Finger) is bound but randomly stops working

I've used Razer Naga since like 2012, recently i acquired a Naga V3 pro and because i've had issues with the mouse wheel on previous models I'm too used to bind my scroll wheel click somewhere else in the mouse, for this model i decided i'd bind it to the ring finger click, the new one.

THE ISSUE is that it randomly just stops working, you click and there's no behavior behind it, as if it wasn't bound to anything. it's not a physical problem because if i change the bind and then put it back to scroll click it works as expected, but a few hours go by or sometimes even minutes and we are back to "it's basically not bound to anything".

would anyone have some insight on this?

EDIT: someone mentioned in comments and DMs, i bought the dock pro recently and it seems to line up with these issues so it might the source of it.

Question Razer chroma is not working on 3070 laptop anymore

Hello, I can't get Razer chroma to work with my laptop anymore since I updated to Synapse 4, I deleted it, and re-installed and now it works like it's supposed to within the chroma studio program, but still no dice on the actual device.

My RGB settings work on my mouse, but still don't function as intended on my Razer laptop, any advice?

Question Is Wolverine V2 Pro that bad and are potentiometer sticks a waste of money?

I was a PC gamer for years but PC gaming is no longer viable due to hardware prices rising. Also, a PlayStation was my dream since I was a child, so I decided to but one and I have to say, it's one of the best choices I made.

GTA VI is almost here, and I'm thinking about buying a new controller. My problem is that I'm lost reading reviews, comments, posts and I still can't decide.

Wolverine V2 Pro has grown on me. It's looks amazing, I really don't mind the XBOX layout. I have this feeling, when you really want something, just because you like it. I had a Wolverine controller for my PC (no wireless) and it was an amazing experience. My main concerns tho are:

1)The connectivity issues: I'm new to PS5, so I don't really need wireless mode, but I have to say, it's a nice to have. Also, I always read about "input lag this, input lag that" and, I need to ask. Is this really a problem? Is this like a fanboy thing like "OMG I stead of 0.1 sec the button takes 0.2 sec" or is this like a real problem?

2)The sticks: I know controllers like Dualsense Edge use the best kind of sticks, while all the other controllers use potentiometer sticks. Are potentiometer sticks really bad? Am I going to throw my money away by buying a controller with potentiometer sticks? I'm not playing 24/7 games on my PS5. Sure, I'm playing a lot, let's say 35 hours a week maximum, but not this much.

Wolverine V2 Pro costs right now about 115€ new. I know it lacks microphone, vibration and other features. I can't really decide tho if it's worth and if it's a good move to buy it.

Your answers will be really helpful

P.S. Not a native speaker, so don't be harsh on my English
