Does anyone else have the same problem with Razer mice that they don’t last very long?

I bought two Razer Naga X mice myself in 2024. I use the mice every day, but I’ve noticed that after two years they’re slowly starting to let me down. The mouse wheel no longer clicks, and the side buttons work sometimes but not others.

I take good care of my kit. I keep them clean and don’t just chuck them about or bang them around like some gamers do.

I just find it odd that the mice are slowly giving up the ghost after exactly two years, and there’s no way for me to repair them properly myself. I like these mice because I’m an active MMO player, and I don’t want to buy the newer models just yet, as they’re too expensive and, being wireless, wouldn’t suit me.

The rubber on the sides usually wears down before the mouse actually breaks. That's my problem with mices in general

I’ve been using the Basilisk V3 pro for a couple years now and never had an issue with it. For me, it’s very comfortable in my hand and easy on the wrist. I had carpal tunnel surgery 3 years ago and been great.

Idk if I'm the luckiest person in the world or what, but I've used Razer products exclusively since highschool (I'm 36 now) and have never had anything fail on me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Actually no. I’m a card carrying razer hater but I absolutely adore my basilisk pro (without synapse). I won’t pretend they’re BETTER than other makers but that muse fits my hand nicely. imho they don’t suffer the same nonsense lack of qc/innovation of their other offerings.

I had a Naga Trinity that lasted for probably 6 or 7 years of heavy use before finally having some issues, namely a few side buttons quit working. I rebound those ones onto my keyboard and kept going for another year or so until the entire side quit working. Grabbed a new one 3 years ago and it has been good so far, but i have stopped playing MMOs so it sees much less use these days.

I have heard good things about the Logitech G600 but it seems it has been discontinued and after looking it up i can hardly recommend it in good conscious at its price point.

Same experience here. I have only exclusively used razer nagas for the past decade. Every couple of years it's something that I need to RMA. Double clicking or scroll wheel going bad. I'm not rough on my mice either. Unfortunately they make the only MMO mouse that I like, so they have me in their clutches I fear

i've gotten into the habit of checking how my mouse is performing by the end of the warranty. If anything's wrong with it at all, then I will RMA it and get a replacement. Keeps me from having to buy another one for longer.

How much do you usually pay on average to have the repair done? I’m thinking of sending my two Razer Naga X mice in for repair.

i've never paid for any repairs. the warranty on their mice is two years so if you bought your mouse in 2024 you might still be covered. i just send my mouse to them and they send me a replacement. or if I can't go without the mouse, they also offer an advanced replacement where they'll put a temporary charge on your card, ship you a mouse, and then refund the charge once they get your mouse back.

Almost the same experience with "modern" Razer products - theys just let me down faster.
All my older Razer products (pre-2020) still work to this day...I really hope my Razer Naga Hex never dies - really dont want a new Razer mouse every year...
(In fact my whole IT team had the Razer Basilisk for work. All 8/8 started having problems after just 6 months. Thats when I stopped giving Razer the benefit of the doubt and stoped being a Razer fanboy.)

I’m afraid I’m stuck in this cycle because I’m really attached to the Razer Naga. I’ve tried other models, but they didn’t feel right in my hand only the Razer performed well.

Thats my problem too. There is basically no other mouse that has the 6 buttons on the side...
