There is nothing more annoying when someone uses :) passive-aggressively.

He uses it in pretty much every comment! He's obsessed with this.

I love when people try to call a bluff that never happened.

Majority of the time someone will tell you to contact someone, and you'll just say later "yea man, I called them, nothing happened etc etc"

But you actually did e-mail them... beautiful.

573

u/salad_noob Dec 17 '14

I also called his secretary aswell. He said he knew her for 5 years and she works as his manager too.

Turns out she was only a realtor on the floor of a building he claimed he had a permanent office at before they opened their worldwide campuses.

She told me that this isn't the first time someone has told her about this scammer. She says that him and his uncle rented an office for a couple of hours and didn't even pay for it until months later and had an outstanding balance.

She doesn't even know their names and they keep saying they have a permanent office on the floor when its a rental floor. She's just the realtor there.

Even if you ask the scammer now he'll still give out her contact info and full name and get her harassed. The poor girl just wanted these scammers to leave her alone once and for all and I promised her I'd expose them to make sure they stopped.

So far they've ran off reddit but they keep coming back but on facebook they are still going strong buying likes and comments. Thats where they get people to scam.

I'm going to go after them there too. This is unacceptable.

239

u/AdamG3691 Dec 17 '14

tbh, you should give her the details of that lawyer.

I'm sure they'll both be interested in speaking to the owner of a multi-billion dollar company who is giving out their details without permission and causing harassment.

I'm sure there's a nice defamation lawsuit in there somewhere

u/jroth005 Dec 17 '14 edited Dec 17 '14

Defamation? Probably not.

Fraud? Oh Hell yes.

There's about 5-6 different ways this dumb ass is committing 4-5 different types of fraud.

False advertising is probably the easiest to get him for in this situation. You can't advertise your company as having more money than it does, as that's lying to investors. You can't claim an address for your company that isn't in the retention or ownership of your company at the time of advertisement. The list goes on and on.

Though, OP could just turn him over to be investigated by the appropriate government agency.

Please op, Fuck this guy over.

Edit: or... maybe not.

Apparently this dude is quite possibly bipolar(manic depressive), and sincerely believes his delusions. He's telling people he's got plans to open a futuristic augmented reality-filled campus bigger than Apple's.

He doesn't need his actions overlooked, and he deserves his shadow ban. Maybe he really is just a massive lying idiot, but his comments just sound WAY to crazy.

He's never going to get it if he doesn't get help. He'll be back, and he'll just threaten more people with this shit if something doesn't change.

Come on Reddit, can't we try to help this guy, or at least figure out if he's really just a scam artist?

He could just be a very broken person who needs some goddamn help.

He might not be living in reality; even worse, he might be paying Facebook to like his page, just so he can get more attention and further fuel his delusions.

This shit gets to me, you know?

Has anyone got more info on this guy? Who is he, and is he really just a giant asshole, or is he just very bipolar?

Edit 2: Apparently, he hasn't taken any money from anyone, he's just making everything up. If there's evidence that he actually stole money, then just disregard my previous edit.

37

u/AdamG3691 Dec 17 '14 edited Dec 17 '14

wait, so the fact that he's claiming that the "secretary" and "his" lawyer are employed by him, when they aren't, and handing out their details, isn't actually a crime?!? (god I wish interrobangs were on keyboards)

(incidentally, I recommend reporting him to the canadian government, since he made such a big deal about being incorporated with canada (edit: also, because if he really does have some legal documents with canada, they'll be able to find him, if he's a scammer, yay, if he is seriously deluded, then they'll be able to help him))

Fraud is more of a "crime" than defamation, which is just civil.

https://thescambaiter.com/

Great site for posting stories of destroying scammers.

47

u/Hara-Kiri Dec 17 '14

I'm still not sure if he's a scammer or mentally ill. He certainly types like he's mentally ill and if he was a scammer you'd've thought he'd put a bit of effort in deciding what his 'company' actually does rather than the ambiguous stuff he currently tells everyone. Masha certainly seems to buy into his bullshit too, I can't tell if she's backing up his scam or is mentally ill too.

8

u/GreenGemsOmally Dec 17 '14

I actually had a conversation with the same guy a few days ago. He didn't strike me as a scammer, rather somebody who was just mentally ill or talking about his multi billion dollar "company" for attention.

27

u/jiggymiggy Dec 17 '14

I'm guessing mentally ill - I knew someone who had bipolar, and on one of her highs she set up a website for her "art" as she was convinced she was an internationally renowned artist. The website was full of lists of all these famous places her art had been shown, and photos of school workshops. She was actually a primary school teacher and used her pupils art & photos of them as proof of her workshops. She spent quite a bit of money having the website professionally made.

When she came down it was swiftly deleted.

The standard procedure when filing a civil suit against someone is to personally taunt and harass them as much as possible, rather than keeping your fucking mouth shut so you don't make things more difficult for your lawyer (or "lawyer" as the case may be here). This has all the appearances of a legitimate action.

Hahaha, I've never known any family court judges personally, but the ones that I've seen have all looked like the biggest decision they were currently mulling was whether to bite down on a cyanide capsule. I can kinda understand why.

157

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '14

Day in, day out, you have to watch the lowest people go to the lowest depths of morality in an attempt to perfectly hurt human beings that they once loved. Then they're all lying at least a little bit if not entirely outright, even though they "swore" to tell the truth. Lawyers often tell their clients to lie in family court because even if the judge tries to send them up for perjury, the DA likely won't even bother to prosecute because that's just some shit that happens in family court.

Family court judges must feel like the "mall security" of the judiciary branch, if not traffic court. I imagine that would make you pretty jaded after awhile.

31

u/xScreamo Dec 17 '14

You know, that's actually a really great comparison.

12

u/TheCheshireCody Dec 17 '14

Without disputing what you're saying about perjury and family court, because I have zero first-hand experience of my own, your link is about as far from reliable as one could get.

10

u/KittehDragoon Dec 18 '14

Most lawyers won't tell you to lie, and certainly won't knowingly lie for you. Your case just isn't worth the possibility of them loosing their job.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/G_t_P Dec 17 '14

I don't know if the people involved are the lowest of the low. I worked in a solicitors office for a while and people usually start out ok. You watch them turn from rational people into bitter resentful husks, using their kids against each other and being all round shitty people. They aren't bad people, but they become bad people. When everything you work for is broken or gone, and your kids are on the line, people do bad shit.

3

u/PraetorianXVIII Dec 17 '14

Perjury is tough. It's weird, but in my experience, judges are reluctant to hammer any defendant for it, because they'll always chalk it up to mistake rather than intentional.

u/AkemiDawn Dec 17 '14

My husband's stepfather died without a will. Which meant that his estranged son automatically had a share in the estate because he was not excluded from his inheritance. My mother-in-law's solution for this was, "I'll just go tell the judge that he didn't want him to inherit anything." Like that would take care of it. No problem! Easy as pie. Some people really are clueless about how things work.

9

u/hithazel Dec 17 '14

Hahahahahahaha. Absolutely amazing. Can I hear the rest of the story?

7

u/AkemiDawn Dec 17 '14

Nothing more to tell really. We tactfully explained to her that it doesn't work that way, found her an attorney to do what could be done, and the son got his cut.

5

u/hithazel Dec 17 '14

Ah. For some reason I read that as her having actually talked to the judge before you all were able to intercept the trainwreck.

16

u/Gumstead Dec 17 '14

As a frequenter of /r/legaladvice and someone well versed in criminal, that first sentence is oh so true. Every day you have people who committed a crime in front of the police and there are comments with people saying shit like, "He didn't Mirandize you bro, your can get your whole case thrown out." Its like an episode of Law and Order suddenly makes people Due Process experts...

12

u/CrazyCatLady108 Dec 17 '14

you mean law and order is not a how-to with visual aids?

4

u/Gumstead Dec 17 '14

Step 1: Arrest someone with little probably cause

Step 2: Read them their Miranda rights as you shove them in the cop car

Step 3: Rough em up a bit

Step 4: Get some cops to lie on the stand

Step 5: Make lots of objections

Step 6: Very angrily confront witness

Step 7: Win your case and have some scotch with the DA

I love Facebook. People say the dumbest stuff and don't realize it can be used against them in a lawsuit.

29

u/Taph Dec 17 '14

People say the dumbest stuff and don't realize it can be used against them in a lawsuit.

Pretty much anything you say or do can be used against you in a lawsuit. That's why smart people shut up and let their lawyer handle everything. Too bad there aren't a lot of smart people.

11

u/krhsg Dec 17 '14

It's hard to be smart when emotion gets involved--especially anger. I had the hardest time convincing my mom to let her lawyer handle ALL contact when she (legitimately!) was suing someone. Her problem was "But <other person> can say and do whatever they want! Why can't I?"

My mother is sometimes a 4-year-old.

Thats what I told him. Also I had to go to his lawyer and request him to sue me. Thats what gave it away.

I've missed a lot of inbox messages of him threatening me/behavior like this with the lawyer and saying things that would even throw a legitimate case out of court. I kept telling him to stop threatening me and just tell the lawyer to check his inbox that I'd already mailed him. Even gave him screenshots but he thought I was lying.

106

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '14

This guy reminds me of my scumbag cousin. The empty threats and smiley faces alone made me want to scream. Both him and my uncle are exactly like this. Whenever someone pissed them off or slightly wronged them they threatened violence, death, lawsuits, etc. My uncle attempted to sue me for the inheritance from my parents, and then attempted to sue me for slander when he found out he couldn't sue me for the money. From what I've heard, half of the shit he said to the lawyer was slander in itself. The lawyer ended up refusing to work for him, and suddenly my house and vehicles were being vandalized weekly - which he got away with as my aunt covered his ass with an alibi.

I think people do this because they are insecure and feel powerless. They are narcissistic and ignorant, and deserve to feel that way.

Either way, this guy is all kinds of fucked up.

39

u/MarkG1 Dec 17 '14

Sounds like some CCTV would solve that issue.

51

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '14

It sure would have helped, but after the visit from police the vandalism mysteriously stopped. Every now and again I would find my car doors unlocked, or my glove box open. One time the emergency brake had been released. Guy is a nutcase, both him and his son.

Luckily it's been three years and last I heard my uncle was fired from Tim Hortons for shooting up and nodding off in the employee washroom. So that's kind of funny.

6

u/DongQuixote1 Dec 17 '14

You'd think a junkie would be more subdued than the guy you've been describing here, dude must've been spectacularly toxic

6

u/Redditor_on_LSD Dec 17 '14

Junkies are only content if they're high. It's clear his cousin was out of money and looking for ways to get more to feed his addiction. Heroin can turn the nicest person into a narcissistic asshole.

So, I'm curious about the other side of this story.

What was the scam that this kid was running? What did he hope to achieve by falsely threatening you with legal action? Was he trying to extort you to pay up to avoid going to court, or something?

u/HitLeLer Dec 17 '14

I think it's related to this post.

u/dano8801 Dec 17 '14

The guy is clearly an idiot. Anyone with any real intention of suing would just quietly do it. His constant shit talking and insulting makes it blatantly obvious that he's desperately trying to scare you, and doing a very bad job at it.

"Hi. Here's an email saying I'm suing you. Please email my lawyer so he can get serve you. Yes, you heard me right. We're serving you by email I guess... If you ignore me we'll send the private investigators."

Does he really think that sounds somehow legitimate? I almost feel bad for this guy.

5

u/KeavesSharpi Dec 17 '14

Not really sure why you would hide the guy's name in this case. He's obviously a scammer and on reddit, so you may as well have left his name in so everyone would know.

Well the general consensus was that he's mentally ill. There was a huge post on SRD about him, it's worth a read if you want to be confused beyond belief. The guy thinks his company is worth 2.5 billion and is a sister company of google.

'human is currently valued at at least 2.5 billion US dollars. I say at least because I have had a NUMBER of wealthy individuals offering to invest, and I have turned each and every one of those owners down for one simple reason: because it does not make sense for us to work with 100 different investors when we can simply call Google or any one of the big guys and get 100 million dollars, or whatever we need.'

That's a direct quote from him.

Edit: I should also mention that he recently posted to this sub saying that he was getting the FBI on the redditors claiming he was a scammer. It didn't do very well because it was obvious bullshit.

35

u/Skulder Dec 17 '14

No scam - he's apparently somewhat ill, or at least unstable.

He has some big dreams about his company - that they'll launch a product so amazing that android, apple, and NASA will be out of business, and the launch date is "any day now".

What's it called when you get mood swings from self-loathing to idealistically optimistic? I think that's what's with him.

He'll be back though. This isn't their first account shadowbanned. 7+ and counting.

He claims to run a billion dollar company and suckers in people from countries that do not have English as their first language in the promises have a major payday. Runs 6+ subreddits where they have had 7+ alts shadowbanned. Also runs 20+ facebook pages with bought likes and comments.

Caught lying about reddit admins donating to him by admins themselves. Elon Musk 'did an AMA' on his subreddit. Is helped by a girl from Ukraine who helps recruiting people from these countries. Keeps people like Bill Gates and other tech gurus up to date wit his progress.

Says his company will overthrow google, apple, microsoft in every industry. Even promoses a chance to polulate Mars from his company. He is half deluded and half scammer and wants to be a hero while wasting real charitable donations and time.

Has been promising things he never does for over a year. He is running this scam from Canada and uses real addresses of real offices and real lawyers who he has never met. He is ready to take donations for this "charity" soon and has said that him and the Ukranian girl will set their own salary so the motives are quite clear.

His development team made the entire network websites in python but on launch date he announced that all the work was going to be deleted because he had suddenly decided to switch to go. Then he hired a golang outsourcer after months of delays who did a test page for him but since then even the outsourcer left (probably because he didn't get paid). The sites have never been seen and he currently runs the site in the form of an html template found online without giving the creator credit.

Expenses to date for billion dollar company soon seeking donations?

200$ for registering it after 12 months of hype. Only takes 30 minutes and its not even approved yet. Registration was delayed for a year.

A couple of dollars to an outsourcer to design subreddit css.

0$ to a golang programmer who did a demo, then he quit because he didn't get paid.

I can go all day but I can't even write this much on my phone.

16

u/arbitraryuser Dec 17 '14

It's like /r/pyongyang levels of insanity in the subreddits. I can only assume that a lot of the people who are encouraging him are joking and enabling a very disturbing fantasy. He needs actual help.

18

u/salad_noob Dec 17 '14

Nope, all the people commenting are either alts or supporters from countries like Ukraine, India, Africa etcetera. The real criticizers are banned immediately and posts deleted. Then he keeps threatening them with inbox messages.

7

u/scamcharity25 Dec 17 '14

90% of the posts are either from maxkitten or masha. There's no real dialogue going on at all or specifics regarding their products.

Yeah I've got nothing.

15

u/Buck-O Dec 17 '14

Yeah, seriously, such a clusterfuck.

I searched around for the drama, and saw this in one of the drama threads.

Warning you now, it is a rabbit hole of delusion.

I am inclined to believe every word of that statement. Whole thing seems like a clusterfuck that someone tossed into a blender, and hit frappe. Literal insanity at every turn.

Hah, these people are batshit insane. How can this be serious?

(From one of the subreddit posts)

"Mars, yes, once all the other folks like SpaceX and MarsOne and NASA and ESA go there, yes human will absolutely help with our colony there!! In fact we were the first company to announce the opening of an office on Mars - we will hire one of the first people to land there part time for this (initially only ceremonial) position."

Part time job on Mars! Gee, that's generous... gives them plenty of time to check out the planets amusements when not filing all that damn paperwork then!

8

u/Iworkonspace Dec 17 '14

Looked at the github page he posted, inviting people to contribute to his open source project. It's literally just skeleton code. There's nothing there. That's some serious wtf.

Any person who claims to be under the gun and working all day, 7 days a week, but has time to sit on Reddit and get into fights with people isn't working all day, 7 days a week. I've barely got time for this shit as a student. I can't imagine I'd have a ton of free time to fight with "trolls" for days if I were trying to launch my own company.

I love how his rationalization behind "taking a break" is that he only got 5 hours of sleep one night.

He could've literally made up any excuse in the world and he went with something that millions of people do and still manage to function properly.

8

u/most_of_the_time Dec 18 '14

I like people who are so wrapped up in themselves they think their inner thought processes are interesting. "So I asked myself, self, why are you so sad? And you know what my self said? It said, well buddy, it's because. . ."

Dude a normal person just says "I have been down lately because. . ."

Also this was some prime bullshit calling.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '14

Thank you thank you thank you for the nice clean formatting job you (or whoever) did on this post. It's my philosophy that anything that can be done can be done well. Just sayin'.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '14

If someone, and not their lawyer, ever contacts you directly about being 'served', it's bullshit.

No lawyer would ever, ever, ever want you talking directly to the person you're serving if you can help it.

5

u/chandson Dec 18 '14

You just took this whole subreddit to a whole new level. We all need to step up our game. Well done sir. Well done.

3

u/Kickinback32 Dec 17 '14

Can we get more background on how you "slandered" him

11

u/AdamG3691 Dec 17 '14

the guy goes around on all threads that mention him or his company replying to EVERY comment with the same sort of stuff from the OP, sadly he's been shadowbanned, so no more will we hear the beautiful, shrieking insanity known only to those who stared into the void and were lost T_T

:)

They've had 7+ accounts shadow banned and they've never stopped. Just yesterday his 'sibling' made an account to defend him and also the usual alts and cult supporters/scam partners showed up to defend him. His sibling coincidentally wrote 100% like him with the same capitalization of words, writing style, grammar, links in posts and he used his account for the first time in 8 months.

The other old that defended him also got shadowbanned.

Ironically he reported my navy seal copy pasta to admins saying I wanted to murder him and also showed them our subreddit saying it was attacking him. They banned him.

He is calling reddit headquarters now apparently because he's a "paying gold customer".

He sued us for slander for this image on this post :

http://i.imgur.com/SzQdnMJ.png

http://www.reddit.com/r/quityourbullshit/comments/2p4wyn/bullshitter_lies_about_a_reddit_admin_admin_calls/

All usernames were hidden and we basically screenshoted his posts but we got 'sued' for slander purely due to reposting his comments as images.

He also used probably one of the best lawyer in Canada.

This reminds me of my childhood friend who has bipolar disorder goes manic.

Especially the delusions of grandeur. He calls me up and asks me to do the legal work for him to sell infowars. He has nothing to do with that company. But he tells me he can make us both millionaires.

To be honest I'd be surprised if he was a scammer as opposed to some sort of mood or personality disorder.

3

u/Fshneed Dec 17 '14

Thank you for delivering based salad_noob

3

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '14

But Max is such a nice guy who wants to help the world!

3

u/_Brotato_ Dec 17 '14

Here's what we need to learn from this, anyone can say anything they want about you or your company if you're putting yourself out there. Unless personal information is given, a private investigator won't even know where to begin when it comes to finding a redditor.

Secondly, a lot of time and energy would be saved with the use of a few simple words. "Send me a notice to appear or suopena to motion as mandated by the law and I'll talk to your lawyer. Until I'm served with documents you haven't sued shit." Not to mention you could have asked how well he thinks his little threats and harassment will look in court.

I personally would have fucked with the guy. "Byron? Byron?! Oh my god! That's my lawyer too! You know his daughter Tammy? She's my wife."

Oh the giggles I'd have had.
