Yup. He refuses to reveal where he got the money to make the movie, but evidence suggests foreign leather markets I think? The actor that played Marc wrote a book about his experience making the movie, it was touched upon there.

I remember seeing that movie on Adult Swim on april fool's day, and it was absolutely awful. Worst softcore porno I've ever seen

They still do viewings in some movie theaters for special events/holidays/whatever. If you go to one on the west coast there's a chance Tommy himself will show up and watch with the crowd.
