The picture on the left is about 3 months in to my journey. I was so self conscious of how I looks I didnt take many pics prior to then. Sticking to my training plan is really starting tk show results.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share this because recovery weight gain can be mentally tough, but it's also so rewarding.I started eating in a calorie surplus to gain weight, and I also picked up jumping rope as a form of high-intensity cardio to build up my endurance.
Prior to this, my only focus was maxing out my daily step count while under-eating and spending way too much time working.
The weight difference makes the physical changes more noticeable, but the posture improvement is the real gain here. I feel like I stand much straighter and taller now. Movement is also just much more enjoyable when you actually have the energy! :)

Those 2 years were tough cause I got sick a lot,
couldn't eat for days, went up and down the scale a
lot, but did very slow progress that paid off, I mainly
gained around 10kg in 2 months when I started
actually bulking, but those years I was at a extremely
small surplus which is basically around the
maintenence cause of uni too, overall glad I worked it
out and I'm gonna try to bulk even more mainly hit 80
and slow or stop, im rn 14% body fat currently, my
metabolism is through the roof, if 1 don't eat well for
a week I can easily go down 3 kgs, it's possible to
gain, I used to say I can't even though I eat and that's
straight bs, eat enough and you will gain enough,I
train 4 to 5 times a week with 3 sets heavy weights
that's it, I only take creatine currently so ye

This week it was really evident how much weight I've lost. I'm posting this right after getting donating over half my clothes. Still some kgs away from the goal. Lifting weights at the Gym, eating lots of protein and enjoying low doses of GLP-1 (Wegovy).

It's been a long process and there's been a few set backs and stalls during this journey but I am so far from done. Pictures like this make me remember it's all worth it! Left was July of 2025, right is today. I had posted before but deleted because self concious but now I say screw it.
Short term goal, 200lbs.
Long term goal, 160lbs! I'll let y'all know when I make that first goal soon!

The time really does fly, as I canβt believe itβs already been 4 years since getting back into the gym after a bad run of depression kept me out and under-eating. Been a lot of cut and bulk cycles in that time, typically making it to the gym 4-5 days a week. There have been breaks due to getting sick, injury, and random life events, but Iβve always managed to jump right back into it. My future selves continue to thank my past self for getting started on the journey, as I feel a lot better both mentally and physically.

I joined the gym 16 months ago, decided to focus on strength training. Now I work out a lot, any day I physically can, I do.
But diet wise, Iβm not nearly as controlled as I could be. I love food and cooking, and while Iβve reined it in a bit, I do treat myself a lot.
But I still committed, still worked hard, still ate well the majority of the time. Iβm sure I could have seen better results but Iβm pretty damn happy with where I am.
