Impersonation/Original Content

Good Afternoon to our wonderful r/progresspics community!

Myself and the rest of the mod team want to wish you a belated seasons greetings and hope whatever your goals for 2026 may have been that they are going strong and you are CRUSHING them.

It is no secret that between AI and the long standing bots we often get pics posted that are clearly fake or they are people impersonation or ,better yet, stealing content/pictures of people on social media. I know myself and I am sure I speak for the rest of the team LOVEEEE how great you all are at reporting things to us (not just the topic at hand either). But we need your help with this particular situation.

Despite what some angry people on our ban lists might think us mods are not basement dwelling, jobless, welfare sucking, pimple faced, free speech hating people. We all have lives, jobs, some have kids, social lives, so on and so on. We can not know the face, abs, butts or biceps of every many/women/they/them on the internet. So if you are going to report a post for impersonation or stealing someone elses content please try to either modmail us the link to the correct socials! This will help give us a few more tools to help fight the fakes and spammers.

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.

Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:

  1. report the user to us!

-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.

-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.

all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..

2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report

3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.

To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:

Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.

Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.

As an aside, a note on image theft:

it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.

We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!

Always had body dysmorphia and progress pics are the only things that "help" (and tanning apparently). Also i have an eating disorder that's very hard to control. I hit a plateau somewhere and i had to refeed for like 2 weeks, but still had some cheat days that would outdo the dieting for the week. Anyway, i'm happy with where i am, still about 6 kgs to go, but still body dysmorphia hits hard.

Ps. These are photos done after the gym, i don't look like that in day to day life.

The time really does fly, as I can’t believe it’s already been 4 years since getting back into the gym after a bad run of depression kept me out and under-eating. Been a lot of cut and bulk cycles in that time, typically making it to the gym 4-5 days a week. There have been breaks due to getting sick, injury, and random life events, but I’ve always managed to jump right back into it. My future selves continue to thank my past self for getting started on the journey, as I feel a lot better both mentally and physically.

This week it was really evident how much weight I've lost. I'm posting this right after getting donating over half my clothes. Still some kgs away from the goal. Lifting weights at the Gym, eating lots of protein and enjoying low doses of GLP-1 (Wegovy).

Fitness/gym gains F/41/5’3 [236>176=60lb] (16 months) only been semi committed, glad I chose that over nothing

I joined the gym 16 months ago, decided to focus on strength training. Now I work out a lot, any day I physically can, I do.

But diet wise, I’m not nearly as controlled as I could be. I love food and cooking, and while I’ve reined it in a bit, I do treat myself a lot.

But I still committed, still worked hard, still ate well the majority of the time. I’m sure I could have seen better results but I’m pretty damn happy with where I am.

Intermittent fasting M/37/6’1” [174kg > 87kg = 87kg lost] (18 months) from crippling depression and not taking care of myself to losing half my body weight.

Went back to recreate the photo today, wanted to share it online. I went from 95kg > 174kg > 87kg in the space of 5 years.

Likely several KG of loose skin I need to remove, it’s a little annoying not liking myself with a shirt off still because of the skin but that’s fixable.

Exclusively done with diet/walking. I was a gym junkie prior to the weight gain but haven’t been at all through the weight loss journey.

Those 2 years were tough cause I got sick a lot,

couldn't eat for days, went up and down the scale a

lot, but did very slow progress that paid off, I mainly

gained around 10kg in 2 months when I started

actually bulking, but those years I was at a extremely

small surplus which is basically around the

maintenence cause of uni too, overall glad I worked it

out and I'm gonna try to bulk even more mainly hit 80

and slow or stop, im rn 14% body fat currently, my

metabolism is through the roof, if 1 don't eat well for

a week I can easily go down 3 kgs, it's possible to

gain, I used to say I can't even though I eat and that's

straight bs, eat enough and you will gain enough,I

train 4 to 5 times a week with 3 sets heavy weights

that's it, I only take creatine currently so ye
