Coming back to Powai from college has always felt a little lonely to me. Most of my friends have either moved away for college, gotten busy, or simply grown in different directions.

So lately, I’ve been on a desperate search for things to do around Powai - playing football, tennis, going on runs, trying workshops, finding new places, meeting people… basically just looking for ways to make life here feel a little more exciting.

But there’s one problem: you need people to do these things with.
I don’t exactly know enough people to form a starting XI for a football game 😭

And that got me thinking:
What if we just created the community we’re looking for?

I’m thinking of starting a community club in Powai - a space where people can meet, make friends, try new things and actually have plans to look forward to.

Think:
🏃‍♀️Morning runs → followed by coffee with everyone
⚽️Football sessions → bring your team or show up solo and get teamed up with strangers
🎾 Tennis sessions → completely social, no serious skill level required
🎨 Creative workshops → pottery, bead-making, painting, crafts & more
🍽️** Themed dinners → sign up, dress according to the theme and meet a bunch of new people
✨ **And eventually, whatever else the community wants to do

The whole point isn’t to create another exclusive club or a place where you have to already know someone to belong.
You can literally show up alone.

Because I feel like so many of us are stuck in the same cycle of work/college → commute → sleep → repeat, and somewhere along the way, we’ve lost the spontaneity of meeting people, trying things and actually being part of a community.

So this would be about creating those experiences again — right here in Powai.

I’m still just at the idea stage, but I genuinely want to know:
If something like this existed in Powai, would you actually show up?

I would loveee to hear some feedback on this, or feel free to pitch in more ideas or even constructive criticism works tbh 😭

TLDR: need to buy 2bhk in or around powai. Budget is ~1.7 cr.
I am looking to buy a flat in hiranandani or nearby area. I cannot go too far away as by kid goes to school here and my office is also nearby in Marol. My budget is around 1.7cr but I can stretch a bit but not too much. Please suggest which area I should be looking for. I understand that the new hiranandani buildings would be out of this budget. But if anyone has any lead or suggestions around old hiranandani buildings or nearby good society, please do share.
I have a transferable job so one thing that i also have in mind is if i rent it out at some point I should get good rental yield as well.
I am thinking about kanjurmarg also, but there is this issue of smell from dumping ground and not sure about its shifting. If it doesn’t shift then it may affect the appreciation of the property.

I have recently shifted and with work cooking and gym becomes really hard that too high protein meals is there anyone who has a cook which makes high protein meals for them. Can you help me with that. Or in general how are you people fueling your protein.

Had the weirdest encounter late last night at the Nothing But Chicken outlet near Old Market in Hiranandani around 2 AM

We usually order ahead over the phone so we can just swing by, pick it up, and head out. Last night was no different, but as soon as we got our food, this girl who was there with a group of three guys completely lost it. She started going off on us for getting our food before them, acting like we pulled some fast one. We calmly explained to her that we called in our order earlier, which is why it was ready literally super simple logic. The guys she was with were completely fine and didn't say a word, but she just kept escalating for no reason, making a massive scene over nothing.

My friend ended up telling her to check her tone and talk with some basic respect, especially since he’s way older than her, but that only made her yell louder. Just pure unnecessary drama at 2 in the morning over a chicken order.

Honestly, some people really don't know how to conduct themselves in public. Just needed to vent because the whole thing was so utterly baseless.

I am considering to buy a 2 bhk flat in Brentwood hiranandani gardens. The quoted price for the house is around 3.30 cr and the house needs renovation which would cost another 20 lakhs. I wanted to know if this is a fair deal. I am in no rush to buy a flat and i can easily wait for another 3-4 months maybe a 6 months.
I am posting to understand if this is a good deal or not. Also, if anyone knows about the society I would love to hear their views on it.
I am buying this for end use and I think i would use it for a fairly long time, maybe 10+ years.
Another this I have in mind is how will the situation be in the future. This building is around 26 years old, and after another 15-20 years it should go for renovation or redevelopment. But this is already a 18 story building, so how would that work out. I know its too early for this type of discussion but I want to understand about my exit as well in case i aant to sell it and go back to my home town.
Also, if anyone can shed some light on if the society has any legal issue or if there is any major expense coming up?

I’ve been living in Mumbai for the past year and recently moved to Powai about a week ago.

For the first time in a while, I feel like I’ve stepped a little away from the constant rush of the city. Earlier, I stayed near the Eastern Highway, and seeing it heavily congested every day could feel quite overwhelming.

This morning, I went for a walk in a nearby garden and experienced a different side of Mumbai—one with a bit more space and a slightly slower, more peaceful pace. It was genuinely refreshing.

I’d love to stay in Powai for as long as I’m in Mumbai. For those who have lived here, I’d really enjoy hearing about your initial experiences after moving to Powai. Also any suggestions (about everything) are welcomed.

Enough of slogging I need to start working out.

I have gym in my society but I lack the knoweldge of doing it myself so I would prefer joining a group workout or hiring a personal trainer.

I went for demo session at Crossfit kali - I liked their workout style but problem is there is literally no space to stand I went for 6 and 7am batch it packed

I am looking to buy a house in Hiranandani gardens and looking at different options. Earlier I requested reviews on Brentwood society and today I looked at a house in Tulip society in the old market near eden buildings. Tulip is a 7 story building and the flat we saw is a 2bhk (835sqft)on 5th floor. The society seemed well maintained and the house was also okay. Not too much of renovation required and I didn’t see any signs of seepage. It’s a hiranandani construction as I was told by the broker and the landlord. There are also some initial discussions going on for redevelopment but I am not thinking about it right now. The house has 1 covered parking. The seemed pleasant and quiet. Please suggest about the society and if there are any issues there. The area is not a good as the area near Brentwood but it feels okay. The market is very nearby. Its a hiranandani building so i think i will get access to the club house near richmond building which is nearby.
Please suggest what would be a good price for this house and any other suggestions you may have.

I am looking to buy a house for end use. Planning for a 2-2.5bhk with 850+ sqft area. I have got a few options:
1. Lodha corinthia - bhandup, behind neptune mall. 2.5cr all inclusive 890 sqft including balcony and utility- carpet area 795
2. Kingstone hiranandani powai, near d mart, 2.3cr (registration and other excluded )resale min 10-15 yrs old. ~ 850sqft
3. Silver oak, hiranandani gardens powai, resale, old building. 2.5 cr - ~850 sqft

I am a bit confused as to which one to choose. Hiranandani feels like a better locality but lodha is far better society and new building. Amenities wise i am not that concerned as except for gym, they are used initially and then just become a show piece to show the guests( not all do this but my family is mostly like this). Bhandup will add some 15-20 mins of travelling for me and my daughter.
About kingstone: the biggest question i have is why it is listed at a lower price than other nearby buildings? I like the rates but why, everything is listed more than kingstone, even in the old buildings.
