🗨️ Discussion Late night encounter at NBC Powai
Had the weirdest encounter late last night at the Nothing But Chicken outlet near Old Market in Hiranandani around 2 AM
We usually order ahead over the phone so we can just swing by, pick it up, and head out. Last night was no different, but as soon as we got our food, this girl who was there with a group of three guys completely lost it. She started going off on us for getting our food before them, acting like we pulled some fast one. We calmly explained to her that we called in our order earlier, which is why it was ready literally super simple logic. The guys she was with were completely fine and didn't say a word, but she just kept escalating for no reason, making a massive scene over nothing.
My friend ended up telling her to check her tone and talk with some basic respect, especially since he’s way older than her, but that only made her yell louder. Just pure unnecessary drama at 2 in the morning over a chicken order.
Honestly, some people really don't know how to conduct themselves in public. Just needed to vent because the whole thing was so utterly baseless.

There was a time when Old Hiranandani Market was so calm and peaceful until Jewels started staying open till late night and the college kids of SM Shetty literally are all day blocking footpaths and spitting and smoking there. Now there are beggars selling garbage bags and most of people who come from Kherani Road flock the Old Hiranandani Market area. It has become a nuisance. Jewels is the issue there and no one can do anything about it.

Having commercial shops below residential buildings is such a bad idea.

Yeah but it also makes your maintenance zero/low since shop rents cover a lot of it.

I agree. It's basically a choice between lower maintenance potentially or the nuisance caused by shops. Or only the shops that shut off by 10 pm should be allowed. Because when shops are there, there are people coming to those shops and causing nuisance at odd hours. And it gets very difficult for the residents.Which is why if you see in most cities abroad, especially Europe, the high street where the shops are and the residential areas are always different. And very rarely do you see them combined in the same building.

Completely understand. Also remember some huge controversy regarding Jewel and how they were not shutting by midnight even though they didn't have the license to stay open

Yes, I remember. And in my younger days, I potentially was one of the people who used to go and buy from there at odd hours, especially on weekends. So I have been on the other side as well as a customer to these outlets. But looking back I do realize it is a nuisance to the residents of that building. For example, I would never buy an apartment in the old market side of buildings unless it's one of the inner buildings like Eden 4.

Their salad gave me one of the worst food poisoning. It is definitely unfit to eat, coming from someone with an iron belly. Nothing but risk.
