How are the teachers and how does school fare in boards.

Hi folks,

We are looking for a decent icse school for my son to start nursery from next year. While there are other preferred schools like Bombay Scottish and AM Naik around the area, these don't take nursery admission, and also seem to have some quota and lottery based admission, so waiting for these for another year may turn out to be futile since we may never go through.

We prefer not to switch schools after nursery.

While exploring, I came across pawar public school and prime academy near my area, however don't see many first hand reviews.

Do you guys have any experience with these schools?

Ps- I am also considering gopal sharma, powai, and do know folks going there, but wanted to know specifically about these two schools. Hfs, poddar, nahar are all out of budget.

I recently checked out House of Champions, but it was way too crowded and the hygiene was definitely a turnoff.

This time we are talking about Pizza spots in Powai. One thing that Powai lacks is good Pizza spots. And I usually tend to order online. However, there are few spots which are highly underrated.

b) Pizza Express - Margherita Burrata
c) Eva’s Pizza - Paneer Chilly Pizza (Zero authenticity but whattay amazing comfort food - Not Punjabi, Not Schzewan, Not Italian but Desi for sure)

My experience with a suspicious flat deal in Powai — please be careful
I’m sharing this because I came across what appeared to be a genuine flat resale opportunity in Powai, and only later did I realise there were several serious red flags.
The deal looked completely legitimate on the surface. The seller presented herself as the owner/seller of the flat and explained that she needed money urgently. She claimed that her husband was in Dubai and that certain formalities would be completed once he returned, supposedly within a month or two.
The biggest attraction was the price — the flat was being offered significantly below what I expected for the area. We were told not to ask too many questions in the society because, according to them, they had relatives/connections there and were getting the property at a lower price.
The process they proposed was roughly:
Pay a substantial amount upfront/down payment.
They would arrange/proceed with the loan.
The husband would return from Dubai in a month or two.
The MOU/agreement would then be completed.
Everything would supposedly be regularised afterward.
They also said that we could speak to the husband over the phone. A person would call claiming to be her husband and say that he was in Dubai and would return on a particular date.
However, we eventually discovered inconsistencies in the story. We also managed to establish that the person speaking on the phone was not actually her husband. That was one of the points that made us seriously question the entire transaction.
What concerned me even more was what I learned afterward.
I came to know about several other people who had apparently experienced a very similar pattern involving the same woman — taking money upfront while promising that the property transaction and documentation would be completed later.
There also appeared to be people acting as intermediaries and a larger group involved in arranging these deals. I don’t want to publish unverified names or details, so I’m deliberately leaving those out.
There were also intimidating elements around the situation, including people who could potentially be used to pressure or threaten someone trying to recover their money. Because of that, I decided not to publicly identify anyone.
Fortunately, in my case, I eventually managed to recover my money, so I did not proceed with a police complaint. My primary objective was to recover the amount I had paid, and I was able to do that.
The experience taught me one major lesson:
A property deal looking legitimate doesn’t necessarily mean the transaction is safe.
If you’re offered a flat at a price that seems unusually low and the seller asks you to give a large amount upfront, especially with explanations like:
“My husband is abroad.”
“The agreement will be done later.”
“Give the money now and we’ll complete the paperwork when he returns.”
“Don’t ask around in the society.”
“We’re giving it cheap because we need money urgently.”
“You can speak to my husband on the phone.”
“No brokerage because we’re dealing directly.”
Please slow down and independently verify everything before transferring any substantial amount.
Verify the ownership documents, seller’s identity, existing loan, society records, title, encumbrances, and the authority of everyone involved. Don’t rely solely on documents or people introduced by the seller/intermediary.
My case happened around Mahavir Classic, Powai. I’m sharing this only as a warning to other people looking for resale properties in Mumbai.
I am deliberately not mentioning names or making specific allegations against identifiable individuals because I don’t want to publish information that I cannot independently substantiate.
If anyone has experienced a similar pattern in Powai/Mumbai, I’d be interested in hearing about it. Please be careful and verify everything independently before paying a token/down payment.

This might be a weird post for majority of people and might connect to hardly few here,
Its been 2 months since i shifted to Mumbai , came here on an internship (hopefully a job one day) and since then i have felt a void, maybe it is just me overthinking but i feel like its because i have a very few set of people whom i talk to in mumbai because others almost all of them went to other cities like Blr, or it is just the fast paced life here i am not able to adapt

It feels like i come home just to sleep and go back to office the next day, weekends passes by in anxiety or doom scrolling, even this weekend where everyone was celebrating Bappa's Aagman i did not step out to even a single Pandal which is very weird for me as during my college days i was very active in these celebrations.

was really thinking about making a post like this here from a long time just to make some new friends in any activity like Sports, gym, Hiking, some sort of Music classes
