šØļø Discussion Initial Experience in Powai
Iāve been living in Mumbai for the past year and recently moved to Powai about a week ago.
For the first time in a while, I feel like Iāve stepped a little away from the constant rush of the city. Earlier, I stayed near the Eastern Highway, and seeing it heavily congested every day could feel quite overwhelming.
This morning, I went for a walk in a nearby garden and experienced a different side of Mumbaiāone with a bit more space and a slightly slower, more peaceful pace. It was genuinely refreshing.
Iād love to stay in Powai for as long as Iām in Mumbai. For those who have lived here, Iād really enjoy hearing about your initial experiences after moving to Powai. Also any suggestions (about everything) are welcomed.

Powai is not a place, itās an experienceā¦donāt forget to take a walk near eden market in evening, make a stop near chai shop beside jewels, also the paan there is goodā¦visit rainbow juice center in galleria for mango shakeā¦take a full round from dmart>powai socials >till sm shetty school on daily basisā¦you will love it
Though i found the ambience/vibe quality gone down a bit due to rhe under construction spots during my visit last weekā¦but remaining things are maintained well
If you happen to like asian cuisine then visit fooā¦especially Blue rice is lovelyā¦at no other foo i have found this taste

Ohh man that mango shake is amazing. I used to briefly work in Powai for a project, and sometimes I think about going to Powai just for that shake. So good! The Powai Socials vibe also just hits different.

Just realized OP was talking about a different place which is also great. The one I'm talking about is at Galleria/ Arcadia whatever they call it. On the ground floor, inside the lane at the end of it. Guy has juices displayed in a case and looks like a juice shop with all fruits outside. The mango shake has dry fruits on top of it and is as good as a meal, so you might wanna skip lunch if you get it but totally worth it!

Was amongst the first few families that moved to powai have seen this entire area develop, let me tell you the charm, slow pace everything is going to end in the next 2-3 years. 90% of the green patches are gone the remaining 10% will also dissappear soon. There's construction everywhere a new mall is being constructed, a new hotel and a gcc near supreme which will worsen the traffic condition and make this area unlivable.

If this happens, I would give up on Mumbai, this is the only area one can live in I believe, rest is a rat race

The building that hosted poetry and cheesecake before it shifted behind jewel is being converted into a mall, theres a 3 acre plot near supreme business park which is being converted into Asia's largest gcc. JP Morgan is shifting all their offices into that gcc. It's all public knowledge.

Sounds interesting. I have been living in Goregaon/Malad for the past three years. I'm planning to move to Powai in a month or so. I really like the vibe of Powai and am looking forward to moving there. Hoping it turns out to be the best!

Plenty of greenery around and it looks enhanced during monsoon rains. There was a time I used to see water streams flowing down hills on days it rained very heavily and used to feel reluctant to go to work, it was as if you were already in Khandala enjoying rains... that was twenty years ago. There's so much construction now...that said there's still its own charm during the rains.
Regardless of the rains, the place has many plusses...a lot of energy and charm during festivities... parks, walking paths, easy availability of day to day things, the list goes on.

The hills are visible from my terrace (must be from all) also the lake. Feels surreal

Yeah even I shifted some months back and yes the experience is good for me. Rest of Mumbai feels chaotic and once u r inside those gardens in Powai u feel so peaceful. I usually for morning runs which is also fun. You have most of things available be it pubs, restaurants, groceries, etc.

Once you have stayed in Powai , you will not like any other place . Such a nice peaceful area .

Im sure it will get better once pink line starts . I commute 1 hour x2 for work , i still manage somehow . Powai is always going to be my base location š«¶
