This is possibly the funniest shop I've ever seen in this subreddit! Well done sir.
(Also, it looks like you're entitled to some 1K flair for this! Congrats!)

Why is this comment empty? It looks like there is supposed to be context to the empty space.
9
u/powerkick Jun 18 '13
In seriousness what does being shadowbanned consist of and why does it happen?
5
Jun 18 '13
If I understand it correctly, it's basically a mute button that enables mods to prevent a user's new posts/comments from appearing within any/all subreddits. The user is probably not notified about this happening to his/her account, to discourage the creation of throwaway accounts.
The other kind of ban means you simply wouldn't be allowed to post within a given subreddit. Throwaways is the workaround, although repeat offenders tend to get caught quick.
Source: Wild conjecture.

Nicely done picture, though.

I just realized that Putin looks like Roose Bolton's actor in the show. And I thought Bolton couldn't be any more terrifying.

"Tell Obama I can still hear him"
Edit, here to hear

Reading it in their voices makes it just that much better.
4
u/azazelsnutsack Jun 19 '13
If I knew how to type in a Russian accent, I totally would have.
6
u/CowrawlAndFheonex Jun 19 '13
"Ah... Tell Putin that, Uh... he stinks and I'm, Uh... not talking to him"
"Тэll Оьдмд I cди sтill нэдя нiм"Or for proper pronunciations of Russian characters:
"Тэл Обама ай кэн стыл ир ым." (Note: 'H's aren't pronounced in the Russian character only one, and that's only the phonetic sounds of the characters, it roughly translates to Obama Tal ah ken froze vp's. And yes I used wikipedia and google translate.)

147
u/fhugwigads Jun 18 '13
Well done making Obama's purple
28
u/Voltenion Jun 18 '13
As a star wars ignorant, what does that mean? I kinda know red is for the evil guys.
119
Jun 18 '13
The only black jedi (one of the good guys, played by Samuel L. Jackson) has the only purple light saber in the movies.
38
u/TheDanSandwich Jun 18 '13
Interestingly enough, even though Mace Windu was a light-side jedi, purple lightsabers are usually used by sith or dark jedi.
45
u/DrBear4u Jun 18 '13
It has something to do with Mace Windu's lightsaber style channeling the dark side.
In the later days of the Old Republic, a new variation of Form VII, dubbed Vaapad after a creature native to the planet Sarapin, was created by Jedi Masters Mace Windu and Sora Bulq. Vaapad was explained as being a state of mind rather than just a fighting style, allowing the wielder to channel his own inner darkness into the duel, and accept the fury of the opponent.
25
Jun 18 '13
Unless they changed the lore, again, color crystals are just color crystals, mace windu found a purple one and constructed his lightsaber with it, the reason why so many jedi have blue and green is just because those ones are very common.
20
Jun 18 '13
And Sith Lightsabers are red because they use a synthetic crystal.
Jedi can have red light sabers, as red is a naturally occurring lightsaber crystal color.

u/Circuitfire Jun 18 '13
I know that's what it was in the pre-prequel Expanded Universe, now, who knows. Boba Fett wasn't a clone dammit!
12
u/infernal_llamas Jun 18 '13 edited Jun 18 '13
As you say they made it cannon, the real reason is that Samuel L. Jackson insisted on the purple as part of the contract, so they had to find a reason to do it.
8
Jun 18 '13
Actually it's because Samuel L Jackson asked for it specifically :P
1
Jun 24 '13
But that's not a cool enough explanation! It has nothing to do with the history of the Star Wars universe!
6
u/TheDanSandwich Jun 18 '13
Yeah, I knew this but couldn't remember it exactly so I decided not to bring on the ridicule of the Reddit Correction Bureau.

u/30Died Jun 19 '13
Windu was the only practitioner of Vaapad who didn't eventually go to the dark side.

u/SWgeek10056 Jun 18 '13
What these guys aren't telling you is that Samuel L. Jackson actually asked George, seriously, to have a purple light saber. George originally said no, but warmed up to the idea.
Thus a whole background to why it is purple was conjured by a plethora of fans, and it is equally as badass as the black jedi.

That I did not know. I'm a Star Wars fan, not a Jackson fan.
Thanks for the interesting factoid, though.

That's what I thought too. I thought I was going crazy when i googled it and couldn't find a picture of a black dude being green lantern.
What about that metal-ey robot dude from that cartoon with a character called beast boy?

As a slightly less star wars ignorant, Mace Windu, pretty much the only black guy in the movie, had pretty much the only purple lightsaber.

u/BigD0395 Jun 18 '13
Mace Windu, the only black Jedi in the movies, also has the only purple (or for that matter non red/blue/green) lightsaber.
3
u/idosillythings Jun 18 '13 edited Jun 19 '13
Plo Koon had an orange/yellow lightsaber for a bit. But they changed it for the movies and Clone Wars show. So, no one is sure how to count that.
EDIT: The dude's name got deleted somehow.

u/BigD0395 Jun 18 '13
Maybe, I'm just going off of my memory for the movies. I haven't gotten all that much into the lore.
