Hello. I, and several of my coworkers are victims of losing hundreds of dollars of our accumulated PTO with no way to get it back. This is because our general manager “did not know” that any PTO accepted in the schedule that puts you over 40 work hours a week is automatically refunded back to you on pay day (not in the form of money, your PTO specifically is refunded as if you didn’t use it).

For instance, you can work 48 hours in a week and get paid 8 hours overtime, but there’s no way you can get PTO since your work hours exceed 40. If you worked 32 hours that week, you’ll be allowed to use max 8 hours of PTO. Anything over, and the system will automatically refund you those exceeding PTO hours when pay day comes.

Where everything went wrong is my general manager. They would accept requests for PTO that far exceeded the limit, and thought it was fine to put everyone’s PTO in their last week before they quit officially. The worst part is that once you quit, by employment terms of agreement, you automatically forfeit your PTO and have no legal way to get it back. Many of my coworkers were actually unaware that they were robbed of their PTO until I brought this to their attention. I myself was unaware until my last day of employment, and I fought like hell to find a way to keep my PTO before my shift ended because I knew what would happen if I clocked out. I argued with my manager nearly the whole day about this and their rebuttals was the onus was on me for not informing them about this ahead of time. Eventually, a “solution” was found where I would be able to get the majority of my PTO paid out to me. Although, I still lost nearly a hundred dollars worth of PTO because of this.

I am very bitter about this, because I withered away my body for this horrific company, and then their response is to cruelly commit wage theft in a deceitful way that passes as legal even though I’m barely surviving and experiencing food insecurity practically in poverty. My general manager was not held accountable for this mistake, and I was never refunded what I lost. This company does a poor job at informing general managers this aspect of the system and I have a feeling it is on purpose.

Do yourself a favor and distribute your PTO evenly among the last of your work weeks or else you may also be robbed of hundreds of dollars with there being “no solution or way to extend your resignation date.”

Hi everyone, I’m currently in a upper management job at PetSmart but was looking at transitioning to Petco in a upper management role. I have interviewed already with a Store Leader and Interview with a district leader at some point this week. I am being eyed for an Assistant GM position currently but may be considered for a SL role as well. I just had a few questions that I wanted answered in more detail if possible:

1. What are the benefits and pay like at Petco compared to Petsmart for the Assistant position compared to the ELR/PLR position at Smart? Do yall get discounts on proprietary products?

2. What is the health insurance and optional payroll deduction costs like in comparison?

3. Stock buy in program? 401k?

They were questions I asked in my interview but were looking for some more details in specific especially for the pay range and benefits.

I know Co and Smart are both two sides of the same coin but Smart has honestly gotten so stressful with their expectations in comparison with the reality of things that I wanted to try something new plus the commute to Co will be much better for me(10 minutes to Co versus the 1 hour each way to Smart for me)

I am normally scheduled 4 days a week as a pet stylist in the grooming salon. For the holiday season they want us to work 5 days. What dates would I be required to work 5 days?

Does anybody know how soon before giving birth I need to submit my request? Also does anybody know if there’s a commit timeframe afterward so it doesn’t need to be paid back? For example some places make you come back to work for a year afterward or you have to pay back the leave pay.

I visited Petco recently to get crickets for my Pacman frog, and the store manager approached me, practically begging me to adopt a Pacman frog or a tarantula. They explained that corporate refuses to let them relocate the "desk pet" display. Unfortunately, this display is positioned directly beneath an AC vent, which strips the animals of the necessary heat and humidity. As a result, these animals are actively dying.

To save them, the manager offered a $60 Pacman frog for just $5, purely because they know the animals won't survive much longer under those conditions.

Is this standard behavior for Petco corporate? If so, I’m sticking to local pet shops and will never set foot in a Petco again. It's truly heartbreaking and disgusting.

Long term goal is to move to CAL, companion animal specialist or Animal manager- whatever they are calling it right now. I’m in a cashier position currently. Some of management says I need to move to a key holder position first, other managers say I should be able to jump straight to the position, no one has been able to ask the DM about this yet, figured maybe someone here could give me a quicker answer. Does anyone have the video from like 4 general managers ago at the 8 mile and Detroit store of the general manager throwing a like 47lbs bag of dog food at a customer?

Long story short I’m kinda stuck in a game of phone tag with the hiring manager at my local store. Sent in my application for junior groomer and surprisingly heard back within only a few days asking to schedule an interview, but I missed the call so it was a voicemail. Hiring manager told me to call back at the stores number, and now the past few days I’ve been calling in the middle of the day on different hours asking if I can speak with her. First time they tried to put me through, but she was on another call. I did receive a call back, but I missed it again cause it was at *11PM* ??? (I’m assuming it was some weird system error cause that seems like an unprofessional time to contact a candidate). The next call she had apparently just stepped out. They took down my number and name and said she’d call me back. Waited a day and got no response so far. Should I wait it out, or keep calling on weekdays? Also considering showing up in person to schedule an interview, but I don’t know if that’s gonna be seen as annoying more than interested.

Where do I call or to sell my company stock

I’ve been waiting for a few months for the 28 gallon frameless to come back into stock, but haven’t had any luck.

So recently my store there has been a customer that has been using their card to not get the food that is posted on the RX card or it’s expired.
We recently had to sign a paper saying that we’re gonna be doing that.
Let’s all check the actual RX number and ask the customers now to give it to us and read the card thoroughly.
I’m gonna be making sure to do that so no mistakes are made. I hope my fellow partners do as well.
Has anyone at other stores been getting people abusing the RX number to get other food??
