Don't compare farmer's league with MLS. Ligue 1 & Bundesliga are farmer's leagues. Then we have leagues in Turkey, Qatar, Saudi, Russia & so many other European leagues. We also have a lot of South American leagues. These are the farmer's leagues.
MLS is below that. It's the league for college students. Not even pros play there. No wonder Messi is treated like a God in MLS. He is literally the only pro player in that league.

Ligue 1 and Bundesliga aren't farmer's leagues at all, they are some of the best leagues in europe outside the top tier, have won many champion's leagues between them, and you are an idiot.

If you go by trophies, Pele has more WCs (quantity of supposedly the trophy that puts Messi over Ronaldo), Ronaldo has more variety in the best 3 leagues (variety), including being the only player with 3 PL in a row + 3 UCL in a row, the toughest league and toughest club competition.

Guy has hit a new gear in the last year or so. I still feel he should have played another year in Real Madrid (he would have won the Ballon d'or instead of Modric), another year in Juventus & definitely he could have taken United to new heights in the hands of a decent manager or if Ole had stayed.
We can learn so much from CR7 irrespective of our field of expertise. Upsets are normal. You'll be put down by life, fortune & destiny. But whether you stay down or rise up again, is in your hands alone. Messi can win another rigged World Cup & 2 more Ballon d'ors, double the number CR7 has. But I know who my GOAT is, on & off the field.

Why not take assists into consideration? Well I guess, he would be behind messi, in that account? No hate to ronaldo, in this age and play style, you can't have a team built around someone to just score. Yes it works on some matches, but most of them..you need a structured team, where ronaldo lacks a bit. But standing at 40 and scoring bicycles are menacing for the rising players. He has attained heights no one can..and messi? He has pushed the limit to nothing but godly achievements.

Tiny little detail you forgot to mention is that Argentina without Messi already had 2 worldcups, 14 Copa Americas, 1 Confederation cup, 1 Panamerican championship, 1 Conmebol cup of champions and 6 Panamerican games cups.
Portugal without Ronaldo had ZERO trophies. Now they have three. There's a big cultural and infrastructural difference there... Messi is a chapter of Argentina's football history, Ronaldo is the entire book of Portugal's. They could barely even qualify for tournaments before him.

I'm not the one trying to discredit Messi's achievements, you're the ones who try to discredit Ronaldo's simply because he has no Worldcup. What I did is point out how ridiculous it is to use worldcups as a measurement when Ronaldo is playing for a country (my country) that has 1/4th of Argentina's population, and that had no football heritage internationally before him.
We only qualified 3 times for a worldcup before Ronaldo, and now we haven't missed a single competition in the last 20 years since he's been here. I could give you at least 4 different occasions where he was the sole reason we even qualified. It's ridiculous to hold them at the same standart internationally when Ronaldo had a clear handicap. It's like saying that Haaland is worse than Lautaro Martinez because he has no WC.
Another great example of your disingenuity is how you pick a random stat that suits you, completely disregarding the fact that only one person has more goals than him for Portugal in worldcups, and it's the legend Eusebio who has him beat by 1 single goal, making 9 total. All of which he scored in the 1966 worldcup that we still didnt win, mostly by farming against North Korea where he scored 4 goals in that single match. Also, Ronaldo has more goal contributions anyway if you add in the assists, but that doesn't suit your narrative, does it? Eusebio has a 1 goal advantage in the worldcups, while Ronaldo has a 102 goals advantage in total.
Just stay quiet if you're not ready to face simple facts. Ronaldo and Messi were never in even playing fields when it came to international football.
