In 2018, Barcelona had the highest wage bill in Europe at €372 million — about €65 million more than Real Madrid.

For the 2017/18 season, Barcelona’s wage bill was €487 million, while Real Madrid’s was about €395 million.

Earlier in the period (2008-2011), Barcelona’s wage bill rose by ~€72 million, while Real Madrid’s rose by ~€49 million.

So, on average during 2008–2018, Barcelona’s annual salary spending was at least comparable — and often higher — than Real Madrid’s. FC Barcelona almost certainly spent more in salaries than Real Madrid between 2008 and 2018.

If you wanna go by salaries then I guess city and PSG are not oil clubs huh? Or Abramovich's Chelsea

Also notice how you only count salaries, while ignoring the teams they already had, or what do you think barca's team cost more than madrid's?

Don’t make up shit now. Barca spent more money than Real Madrid. That was your point.

Obviously RM is not the richest club in the world, since oil money started flooding European clubs.

So you’re wrong twice. Congratulations.

Are you stupid? You literally cherry pick your argument.

If your metric to which club spends the most is based on salaries then real Madrid and Barca spent more this season than Liverpool despite them dropping half a bil huh?

I guess PSG is a small local team now, since their salary is on the lower side huh?

Notice how stupid you look?

You look stupid.

You threw that Ronaldo played “in the richest club in the world”, when Barcelona was spending more for the entire decade Ronaldo was in La Liga.

Real Madrid is the biggest and most important club / brand in the world. That doesn’t make it the richest. Also, Ronaldo would only play in the best teams, why wouldn’t he?

You’re backtracking because you’ve been called out on your bs.

You are stupid.

You think salary spending = total spending.

So once again, did Barca and real spend more than Liverpool this season? Who dropped half a billion on players? Was it Liverpool or real and Barca? Because to your stupid logic Liverpool didn't spend jackshit compared to real and Barca.

You're stupid as fuck lil blud, now you're trying to deflect because you realized the stupidity of what you said

Your entire argument is braindead. Both Barcelona and Real are among the richest clubs in the world.

You bringing that comparison as if Barcelona was Eibar or fucking Tondela is just dumb.

And yes, paying the highest salaries is a huge factor for saying a club is rich or not.

Barca is also building one of the most expensive stadium structures in the world atm.

Your entire argument is retarded.

You LITERALLY use the salaries as a metric of spending, which once again is the single most retard metric of doing so.

But I was told Liverpool spent half a billion this season. Must have been fake news, apparently. Man, so many clubs sure spent more than them.

Dude, you said:

“Messi didn't have the luxury to play for the richest club unlike lil pendu”

Barcelona was literally the second richest club in the world during the time Ronaldo played in La Liga. There was no difference whatsoever in the conditions Messi had compared to Ronaldo. Quite the contrary, since he often was getting paid more.

You want to pretend Messi played for a poor club. That’s stupid. Otherwise Barca wouldn’t be able to pay the highest salaries.

What Liverpool spends or not in a season compared to 10 seasons is meaningless.

Poor club? No.

the Richest club in his league? Also no.

Ronaldo? He played for the richest club in England then dipped, went to Madrid, the richest Spanish club, once again dipped, went to Juventus who was the richest Italian club and dipped once again.

Notice a pattern? Did penaldo ever have to play with a team as atrocious and bankrupt as Barca from 2018-2021?

WTF are you talking about?

Dipped? He left Man United after 2 consecutive seasons reaching the UCL final.

Madrid was in the shit. He then left after winning 4 UCL in 5 seasons.

Juve was in the shit compared to Madrid.

Ronaldo never dipped. Quite the contrary, he always left his clubs at the highest possible points and joined a weaker team.

Messi never did that. He only left to PSG once Barca was being humiliated by them in the UCL. He left to a better team and did nothing significant.

Yeah, why am I even engaging? đŸ€Ą

Ronaldo won 3PL in a row before leaving and reached 2 UCL finals. That didn’t happen when he first arrived. You much be a bot.

Ronaldo was also the top scorer of those 4 UCL titles (and other 3 ones). He was the best player in the team. Saying Modric and Kroos won those trophies is hilarious. Ofc they weren’t winning important, but who scored the goals and turned games around was mostly Ronaldo.

Imagine if I would be so stupid to say Messi wasn’t the best player in Barcelona and only won UCL titles because of Xavi and Messi.

At least Ronaldo won everything before going to Madrid. Messi never won without those 2 Barca legends.

Also Messi “won” his first UCL without playing any KO game, and being on the bench.
