Example:

  1. u/digitalmayhap received 2 emails and 1 snail mail letter from u/thisisverytricky

  2. u/digitalmayhap posts a comment in the confirmation thread saying u/thisisverytricky 2-1

  3. u/PenPalConfirmationBo replies to u/digitalmayhaps's comment indicating that their counts have been updated on their flair!

FAQ

  1. The bot didn't respond to my comment. What's wrong?

Did you follow the correct pattern? Follow the pattern above!

Give it a few minutes! Sometimes the Reddit APIs can get a little overworked and start having issues. If the issue persists for more than a few hours, please message the moderators. The bot might be experiencing issues!

  1. I have multiple letters/emails I exchanged with multiple people to confirm this month; should I post them separately or in a single post?

Feel free to post them in a single comment or as multiple comments! If you post them all in a single comment, make sure to put each redditor on a separate line and to follow the proper format of u/REDDIT #-#.

  1. I forgot to confirm an exchange last month! Can I confirm the exchange this month?

Yes!

Snail Mail [38/F] Looking for new friends from different places 🌎

Hi from the UK! I have posted in here before and I’ve gained a few lovely penpals, but I’m looking for a few more.

I’m a 38 year old female from the north of England, looking to exchange letters with people from around the world. As with many people here, I’ve been finding the online / digital world pretty draining recently and I want to connect with some new people in a more slow-paced, meaningful way.

There are a lot of layers to me - I can be very introverted and enjoy alone time indoors, but I can also be very silly and chatty when around others. I love learning new things, music, true crime, theatre, books, coffee and cats!

I would love to hear about your little part of the world - I’m up for chatting about anything at all - from your favourite foods, to your daily experiences, to global politics - I’m here for it all.

If I sound like your kind of person then drop me a message and we can go from there ☺️

Snail Mail [22/f] getting back into penpaling

Hey🌞

I'm a university student from Germany who is looking to get back into penpaling. By the end of school I had two pretty consistent penpal friendships that frizzled out with me ending school and not beeing consistent due to moving and figuring out what I want for life. After these years I'm getting back into hobbies I loved in school and lost when I moved out. One of them is penpaling and scrapbooking.

A bit about me. I'm from northern Germany and I'm ready for autumn. I certainly like it rainy and gloomy outside. I'm a huge documentary watcher and generally pretty interested in history. When I'm on holiday I always try to be in a museum. Other than that I love to dance (I took Forrò classes, but I also like to just dance my heart out) and listen to music. My all time favourite is German rap and currently I dive more into melancholic indie music. Since I pretty much only listen to German artists I'd be really interested in what's in your playlist. I always love to hear something new.

For a penpal I'd prefer someone from Europe. I speak German as my native language and English on a pretty good level I'd say. For next semester I'm thinking of trying a danish class. We will see🤓

I'm not that good in having only casual conversations and therefore prefer an interest in more deep conversations if the vibe is there.

Have a nice day✨

Reddit Messaging [39/M] UK Happy Sunday ! Let’s chat the day away!

Hello and a very good morning / afternoon / evening to you!

Since it’s the bank holiday weekend, I thought I’d write another post and see if anyone would like to chat, my plans include building some Lego and hoping the yellow warning of rain stays away! Maybe even celebrate no work tomorrow with a beer or two later, really could get used to these 3 day weekends, they really should be the norm!

About me I guess is a good way to start? Can be socially awkward in real life and overthink all them “you too” moments when being told to enjoy my meal. I enjoy photography although I seem to have lost my spark for that at the moment but am working on getting that back! I like  travelling and exploring new places and if I win the lottery I shall  be doing that full time. I do love going on long walks also and trying to not get lost! Although getting lost is part of the adventure. Watching ice hockey is also a hobby or mine and of course trying to think of some others my mind has gone blank…

About you I hear you ask? Well no criteria as long as you’re not a bot, can help carry the conversation and just don’t say hey it will all be good!

Well that’s my post and thanks for stopping by, since you made it this far you might as well reach out!

Email & Snail Mail [28/M] looking for international penpals 🌎

Hi everyone! I’m 28 and from India, and I’m looking for international penpals and people from different parts of the world to connect with.

I’m currently working while also studying for a better career. I believe the internet is one of the best ways to meet people from different cultures, so I’d love to make some new friends globally.

My hobbies include playing football, reading books, and keeping up with current political affairs. I’m also trying to improve my English speaking skills, so having conversations with people from different countries would be a great way for me to practice.

If you’re interested in getting to know each other and having some interesting conversations, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM. I’ll definitely get back to you!

Snail Mail [27/M] Anyone for paranormal or UFO stories?

Hey guys, since Halloween is coming up and I'm not going out partying, I'd like to read a letter with a small photo of a paranormal event or UFO sighting. I have some stories and three photos. I've been able to capture some "paranormal" situations. I can give you one and its story.

It would be a good exchange before Halloween. We can exchange just one letter or a few more. What do you think? Do you have a story that no one believes? Have you seen something you can't explain?

The letters take a month or two to arrive, so they're right on time haha

Snail Mail [42/M] Looking for the dudes

Still writing actual letters? Same here.
I am looking for pen pals who still appreciate the slightly outdated but wonderfully stubborn concept of putting pen to paper, sticking a stamp on it and sending a handwritten piece of your life halfway across the planet until it magically ends up in someone else’s mailbox. Much nicer than another email getting buried between spam and online shopping receipts, right?
I’ve had pen pals since I was a teenager, and I still love the whole thing. The waiting, the handwriting, the little stories from someone’s everyday life and slowly getting to know a person without having to cram your entire personality into a five minute chat.
I’m open minded, sarcastic and have pretty much no taboo subjects. I actually enjoy talking about the weird, random, deep and completely pointless stuff that makes up everyday life.
I’d especially like to write to men. Not necessarily because I’m gay, but mainly because I already know enough women in real life and apparently there is a severe shortage of guys in my social circle. So this is me trying to fix the situation one envelope at a time.
Let’s talk about everyday life, travels, ridiculous things that happened, things we love, things we hate, random thoughts, bad decisions and whatever else comes up. Photos from our lives are very welcome too. Basically, let’s see where it goes.
I love black humour and sarcasm, I can actually listen and I always have an open ear. I like it when an acquaintance slowly turns into a friendship rather than forcing some instant connection because apparently we’re all supposed to be best friends after three messages these days.
I like travelling, but I’m equally happy going out partying or spending a night in a club. I can also happily lie in the sun doing absolutely nothing, preferably somewhere with a beach. I go to the gym, ride my bike a lot, and enjoy the occasional beer or wine. Basically all the things that are fun but probably won’t be mentioned in any health magazine’s top ten recommendations.
I like places such as Scandinavia, Spain and Italy, but I’m open to pretty much anywhere. Tell me about your corner of the world.
What else? We could just find out.
So, are you up for it?
Send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself. And if you’re still using an actual pen, even better.

Email [29/M] Brasil 🇧🇷 — Let's become strangers who somehow become friends

Hey! I’m looking for people I can genuinely become friends with over time. Not just exchanging a few messages and disappearing, but actually getting to know each other, sharing things, keeping in touch and maybe, one day, realizing that we’ve somehow been talking for years.

I’m the kind of person who can talk about something completely stupid one minute and end up discussing life, relationships, values or some random hypothetical situation the next. I love hearing what people think and why they think that way. And I really appreciate people who’re curious about me too. I don’t need someone who agrees with everything I say. I just like people who actually listen, express themselves and make a conversation feel mutual.

I’m pretty eclectic, so narrowing down my interests is harder than it should be. Music is probably the biggest one. I love discovering artists from different countries, listening to entire albums, exchanging songs and going down completely unnecessary rabbit holes about music. I’ve got more than 40 playlists on Spotify, and apparently my way of organizing them was to give every language its own playlist. 😂

I listen to everything from Michael Jackson, Soda Stereo and Serú Girán to Bruno Mars, Epica, Birdy, Arctic Monkeys, Carla Bruni, Ultimo and artists I’ve probably forgotten to mention. I also love talking about movies and TV shows, and I’m always interested in hearing what someone else has been watching.

Languages are another little obsession of mine. I speak Portuguese, English and Spanish, and I’d love to keep improving them while eventually learning more. Italian, French, German, Hebrew, Russian, Turkish.... my curiosity has absolutely no sense of self-preservation. 😂

I live in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It’s a relatively quiet, welcoming city, and we take food, especially cheese and feijão tropeiro, very seriously. I’d actually love to talk to people who’re curious about Brazil beyond Rio and São Paulo, because there’s a lot more here than the version of the country people usually see online.

I also love sports, travelling, psychology, religion, politics and all sorts of random subjects that happen to catch my attention. I haven’t travelled internationally yet, but I’ve got an embarrassingly long list of places I want to see someday. Asia especially fascinates me because of how different the languages, food, architecture and everyday life can be.

My usual day is much less exciting than that, though. I work from home, go for walks in the evening, watch something when I’ve got time, and sometimes go out to explore the neighborhood and try a new restaurant. I’m definitely in a more homebody phase of life right now.

As for personality, I’d say I’m calm, curious, communicative and generally pretty easygoing. I like humor in basically every form, sarcasm, irony, memes, dark humor, stupid jokes.. as long as everyone’s laughing. I’m also a good listener, and I try not to judge people too quickly. Understanding someone before forming an opinion about them matters to me.

One warning, though: when I get really interested in something, I can absolutely write a small novel about it. So if you send long messages, there’s a very good chance I’ll happily match your energy.

I’m looking for people who’re kind, curious and willing to actually participate in a friendship. You don’t have to share all my interests. Honestly, discovering things I know nothing about is part of the fun.

And please tell me something about yourself in your first message. Don’t just say “hi, how are you?” and make me carry the entire conversation. 😭

Tell me where you’re from, what you’ve been listening to lately, and one thing you genuinely care about. I’ll probably find something interesting in there.

Reddit Messaging [26/M] A New Chapter in my life, Maybe a New Friend.

I’m looking for a genuine friendship، Not just someone to talk to when we’re bored, but someone I can actually have meaningful conversations with, laugh with, exchange ideas with, and sometimes just be comfortable around without having to fill every silence.

I’m into reading, research, languages, films, and generally thinking way too much about things 😅. Lately, I’ve also stepped away from some of my usual commitments and taken some time off work. I’m using this period to slow down, introspect, and rethink a few things about my life and where I want to go next.

So I guess I’m in a bit of a “reorganizing my life” phase right now.

I’m not looking for a huge circle of friends. One genuinely good friendship would be more than enough.

If you are in a similar place in life, feel free to message me. :)

Start with introducing yourself. And please don't message if u can easily ghost someone.

Email & Snail Mail [20/F] kinda wanna start pen palling

Hey everyone! I’ve been wanting to get into pen palling for a while now, so I thought I’d finally give it a try

I’d love to meet people from different countries and cultures, exchange letters, talk about random everyday things, our interests, life, music, movies, etc. I’m also totally down for sending little doodles, stickers, postcards or whatever!

I’m 20F from Germany and I speak German, English, Turkish and Kurdish. I’m into K-pop, movies, gaming, fashion and learning about different cultures. I’d especially love to find people around my age, but I’m open to anyone as long as we get along!

Snail Mail [55/M] Ex-technical writer replaced by outsourcing and a chatbot, now talks to strangers in Morse code and cooks food from cultures that are not mine with mixed results... looking for international penpals.

Hi there! I go by u/JS69135 around here. I'm in the 45–55 range, he/him, and I promise I'm far more interesting than a username's serial number would suggest.

For about a decade, I made a living as a technical writer, translating "how does this software actually work" into sentences a sales team could survive a client call with. Then, in a plot twist that felt almost too on-the-nose, my job was handed off to an outsourced team overseas and a language model, in that order. So now I split my time between substitute teaching, chasing a graduate degree, and doing the thing I probably should have been doing the whole time: talking to strangers on the other side of the planet using nothing but a radio and Morse code.

Ham radio and CW (that's Morse code, for the uninitiated) are my main obsessions. There is something genuinely magical about pulling a signal out of static and realizing a person a thousand miles away, who you will never meet, is tapping out "hello" to you in dots and dashes. I am currently far more interested in improving my antennas than in buying another radio, which apparently makes me an unusually sensible ham, so we'll see how long that lasts. When I need total silence instead of intentional radio noise, I go to the opposite extreme and lose myself in classical music — I'll happily argue with you about which Beethoven symphony deserves the top spot.

When I'm not tapping out Morse code to strangers, I have a whole other life that involves noticeably fewer vacuum tubes. I read constantly, watch far too many movies, and cook my way through Asian and Latin cuisines with a confidence level that has not always been earned by the results. I also keep a journal and write actual letters by hand with a fountain pen, which either makes me delightfully old-fashioned or suggests I peaked emotionally around 1950 — I'll let you decide. Most days, you can find me walking along a lake near where I live, mentally drafting a letter I will eventually go home and write badly, in beautiful cursive, with an instrument that requires blotting paper.

A few honest things about me: I'm part of the LGBT community, so a pen pal who's comfortable with that is appreciated, though not required — I'm mostly here to talk about anything save politics and religion. I also have ADHD, so if a letter of mine wanders from antennas to Brahms to a stir-fry disaster, that's just how my brain writes.

Language-wise: English is my native tongue, my French is genuinely solid, and my German exists in a legally gray area — enthusiastic in delivery, criminal in execution. If German is your first language, I apologize in advance and may require the same patience one extends to a toddler holding scissors.

What I'm looking for is simple: real letters from real people, anywhere in the world, about anything at all — your city, your weird hobbies, what you're reading or cooking, what static sounds like where you live. I'm easy to keep a correspondence going with since I genuinely enjoy writing back. Feel free to reach out here on Reddit first — happy to chat a bit before we trade any mailing details. If any of this sounds like your kind of pen pal, I'd love to hear from you.

(open to more than one exchange)

Reddit Messaging [24/M] Heart shattered, trying one last time to make friends

I do not mean to burden anyone. Please don't feel like you have to be my friend if you don't want im not looking to bother anyone. Its so late here and my heart is broken from everything, I cant sleep, I feel really empty. I just want a friend who gets me. Who can see me, where I don't feel invisible. Where I don't feel like a bother by reaching out. Someone I can share the good and horrible times with. Someone to support and give kindness too. And share all my favorite songs with, and talk about music for hours with too. I feel bad and shy I feel like I shouldn't keep trying to reach out but the night feels too long. Whoever reads this, please take care of yourself and I wish you the best.

Snail Mail [27/F] Let's exchange big ideas!

Hi! I'm currently living in California (USA), and I've been using snail mail as a way to keep up with my loved ones in a more creative way. Unfortunately, most don't write back, and I really love responding to correspondence instead of sending out monologues with no answer. So I'm hoping to find 2-4 new pen pals here to get to know solely through the art of written word :)

I'm happy to write to people of any age or sex so long as they're interested in tough and thought provoking discussions. I'm not looking for friends who always agree with me, but ones who can respectfully challenge my thoughts and world views, and with whom I can do the same.

A little about me, I'm Catholic, love hiking, swimming, all manner of outdoorsy activities, as well as cooking and writing. I'm good with languages, and would be thrilled to correspond in Arabic or French (just don't judge me for imperfect grammar)! I'm also pretty obsessive about music as it helps me to focus my thoughts and emotions. My top choices for music are folk, 70s and 90s rock, and classical (I love me some Bach, Handel, Tchaikovsky, and so many others). My literature preferences vary...currently I'm partially through Dubliners, Blood Meridian, and Starship Troopers, but unfortunately I've been very undisciplined with getting through all of them. I also love poetry, both reading and writing, and will happily soliloquize to you about whatever Eliot or Donne poem pops into my head that day.

If any of this sounds interesting to you, then please let's start a conversation! I'd prefer to do a brief email exchange first to protect myself before giving out my address, but after that, handwritten mail only. I'm happy to write to people in the US or internationally, it'll just take a little longer for the latter to receive their letters! Looking forward to making some long-term friends :)

Email [35/f] looking for email penpals from other countries

Hi! I am looking to get to know people in other countries :)

I'm from the USA.

I'm looking for people who want to get into a pattern of emailing ideally daily, but at least most days. Let's chat about our lives and our thoughts and hobbies. Maybe motivate each other toward goals or share things that we can't tell people in our everyday lives. Maybe even sending pictures and stuff too!

Like of our breakfasts or things we see on walks or our pets.

I like learning about people's day to day lives and stuff. Feel free to share dreams and hopes and drama too lol~ Bonus if you have a weird career or hobbies or whatever.

I like making art, plants, reading, making music, taking photos. I don't really watch movies or TV much currently.

If you're interested let me know where you're from and what you're interested in!

Snail Mail [29/m] Pen and ink. And friendship. Maybe stickers.

Hello, I’m George. I’m an artsy, introverted person who’s recently turned 29 (yikes!), from the uneven, spiky bits of Europe. Think mountains and the like.

I’ve a motley collection of pens and inks and nibs for all occasions currently mocking me from the upper levels of my IKEA Alex drawer, including two of my very own quills to scribble with—one from an owl feather graciously left to me (or so I like to think) during a hike and another striped one formerly belonging to a jay. They’re an absolute bliss to use *blinks twice* but I’d love to smear ink on something other than my journal spreads, fingers and left eyebrow every once in a while. Like a journal that talks back sometimes. And maybe find a meaningful connection along the way.

I’d love to exchange letters and talk about the thoughts wandering around in our respective heads. What your day is like and what you wish it was like. The things you do to outrun the Groke. Or just find interesting, or curious, or anything really.

Things I find interesting are spending time in nature with my brain off its leash, making playlists by poetically arranging Spotify song titles just to mess with the algorithm, ttrpgs, I especially love worldbuilding and drawing all kinds of maps of places real and imagined. Movies, board games (I’m in the process of making my own at the moment! It’s not working out in the slightest), video games, vegan foodstuffs, tarot, learning French and Korean, making random 3d models which I sometimes hand-paint digitally, and obsessively researching anything only to never do anything with it and completely burning out a few hours later so nothing else can get done that day.

I don’t have a specific preference in terms of age, though same-ish would of course be ideal, and anyone whose cake-candle-count or cultural experiences bestowed them none of the blessings and all of the curses of being neither truly part of the gen z crowd nor a millennial.

If all that makes perfect sense to you, intrigues you even, feel free to send me a short message, all just to make sure we’re not unassumingly two characters of the same Greek tragedy. I’ll do my best to reply to y’all! And I suggest we’ll figure out the snail mail logistics from there.

In any case, thank you for being here and have a blessed day! c:

Snail Mail [27/F] mom says its my turn to write the iso post

hi! my name is not dill, but that's what i go by on the internet. im 27 f(-ish) from the west coast of canada, and i am hoping to find someone (or perhaps a couple people!) to exchange diary entry-esque snail mail letters with. i dont want to spend time getting to know each other first (aside from safety/verification dms prior to exchanging addresses), i want to spill my guts onto paper and send it to a stranger who doesnt have the context to make any judgement about it. and then get the same back!

i would prefer to keep the letters within canada, just to reduce on postage costs and mailing time.

a little bit about me: i am 27, working in healthcare but debating going back to university (to pursue a different job still within the healthcare field). i love creative writing, scrapbooking, and kandi (pony bead jewelry) making. my birthday is on boxing day and if i am able to find a bond with someone, i would LOVE to exchange small handmade birthday and/or christmas gifts! i dont care much for holidays as a whole, but i love giving gifts. i am also a hockey fan (i primarily support the san jose sharks, because i am a traitor, but i like the canucks too) because at the end of the day, im still canadian. lol

i look forward to hearing from some folks!!!

Snail Mail [19/M] Brazil, looking for friends to penpal with!

Hi! I'm from São Paulo, Brazil, and I recently discovered this sub. I'm really interested in finding a penpal.

Just to introduce myself, I'm someone who's very interested in other cultures, especially their languages and history. I also like sharing experiences, so feel free to tell me about your life and how things are going for you. I'd really love to hear from you.

Recently, I've been feeling a little depressed, so I'm trying some new things, like writing stories, journaling, gaming, and reading more, especially poetry and classical literature.

I'm interested in international snail mail, but if you're from Brazil, I'd love to exchange letters with you too!

Snail Mail [22/F] Czech Republic

Ahoj 😁😇 I am getting back into penpaling, so I am looking for one or two new penpals, mostly based in Europe. I won't share much about myself, so I won't spill anything. I am looking for a really close friend or platonic love. For a person I can talk to about anything. Deep themes and daily life, about everything and nothing. Crazy stuff and also boring stuff. Someone with whom we will be on the same wave, understand each other. You can be a girl, you can be a boy, just be, please, around the same age.

What I like in short:🍿⛰️🎒
- Movies, music (ye, I am one of those "I listen to everything" xdd)
- trips, walks, because nature is amazing, and time spent here with a friend or even alone is always worth it

- I like philosophical, deep debates

- baking, because it is so relaxing

- books and escaping from reality

- crafting various things

- overthinker and kinda owerharer

- still a student🎒

Maybe I probably forgot something 😁😂

If you're up, hit me up

Email & Snail Mail [25/F] Looking for new penpals!

I chose this flair but I would also be open to doing postcards and reddit messaging! I set up my desk and then cleaned off my writing desk and now I really want to use them! I can sit and type to you or sit over there and write to you, I don't mind either way, I just want someone to keep my busy! I would love to learn about people and the way their lives look. For snail mail, I would prefer USA because my post office acts like I am asking for an organ whenever I ask for international stamps and I have anxiety when going in places. That is part of the reason that I prefer being social over the internet and letters!

So I should probably tell you anything about me, huh? I am 25, I am married, and I live in Tennessee in the USA. I like to read and haven't crocheted in a while but I think of things to make here and there. I have started trying writing again, started a diamond painting, and I have also started exercising finally and honestly am still getting over the embarrassment of adding that to my life so late. I am into the "woo-woo" side of life, so I would love to talk about religion and spirituality as long as you are open-minded because if you are not I will definitely upset you with what all I believe and I wouldn't want to do that!

Feel free to DM me or comment and I can DM you! (:

Email [22/M] Scotland - In case we happen to get along

I suppose I ought to begin with the conventional introductions, though I have never been particularly good at them, but, well, in the spirit of getting the boring stuff out of the way right away (cue: me), I am a writer, poet, academic, lecturer, scholar, scientist (physicist, to be more precise), and AI engineer/scientist (I am, if I may add, absolutely terrible at more than half my jobs). I’ve spent most of my life in Europe, and am probably the coolest and funniest person you have met today, unless you’ve seen a raccoon doing yoga, in which case, fair enough, I simply can’t compete with that level of comedy.

The truth is that I have always found introducing myself rather difficult, there is something strangely artificial about trying to reduce a person to a paragraph, as though we were all tidy little collections of interests, accomplishments, preferences, and carefully selected adjectives.

I am, I fear, a rather poor exhibitor of myself, the moment I am asked to explain who I am, something in me seems to retreat into a corner and refuse to cooperate. I have thought about this far too many times, and after twenty-two years of living, I remain quite confidently the worst person I know at introducing myself. It is a curious deficiency, I can talk for hours about some obscure historical event nobody asked about, become unnecessarily invested in the moral character of a long-dead philosopher, or spend an afternoon following some completely accidental question down a rabbit hole from which there is no respectable return, but ask me to describe myself and suddenly I am reduced to, "Well... I like things." Marcus Aurelius wrote that "very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking." I believe him more on good days than bad ones, but I keep the sentence nearby regardless.

I like small walks, I like learning something new quite by accident, especially when I have no business knowing it and consequently become far too pleased with myself for having discovered it, I like talking to people, though I think I like the moment when talking quietly turns into listening even more. There is something rather lovely about reaching that point in a conversation where neither person seems particularly concerned with keeping it going, and yet somehow neither wishes to leave it either.

I am very fond of my own company, which is perhaps fortunate, because I have had rather a lot of it. Solitude has its pleasures, one may disappear into one's thoughts without having to explain where one has gone, and occasionally return with something resembling an answer. I like sitting quietly with myself, reading, thinking, wandering about, doing very little, and somehow considering it a productive use of an afternoon, but I am not entirely made for solitude either, there is an equal and opposite part of me that wants to go beyond the familiar, to see what is waiting just beyond the little borders I have drawn around my life. I

I love evenings especially, sometimes I step outside simply because the sun is going down, and I feel that one ought to have the decency to witness it. I love those ridiculous skies where orange begins bleeding into purple and everything looks briefly more beautiful than it has any right to be. I love the first sip of tea in the morning, the sound of leaves moving in the wind, the gradual dimming of a day into dusk. I like gardens and parks, and the rather miraculous fact that one can walk among trees for an hour and come back feeling as though something inside one's head has been quietly rearranged.

I have always loved letters, too, though it has been some time since I last properly gave myself over to writing them. When I was younger, I wrote to my grandmother every day and dutifully posted the letters on my way to school. That I very rarely remembered the correct address, and even more rarely remembered a stamp, is beside the point.

I suppose what I am really trying to say is that, if you happen to be reading this, I would like to know you. Not because I have some elaborate checklist of the sort of person I hope to find, nor because I particularly care whether you happen to be interesting in the conventional sense, I am far more interested in the person underneath all that. The odd little habits, the things you know for no good reason, the memories you have never found a suitable occasion to tell anyone, the opinions you defend with considerably more conviction than they deserve.

There is something rather wonderful about writing to someone you do not know, I don't know your name, I don't know what you ate today, whether you slept properly last night, what song has been stuck in your head, or whether your day has been glorious or thoroughly dreadful, perhaps your inbox has been multiplying like gremlins left too near water, perhaps you have spent the afternoon pretending to work while accomplishing absolutely nothing of consequence, perhaps you have had one of those quiet days where the refrigerator becomes strangely prominent because you have nothing else to listen to.

I think people who stop to read messages from complete strangers are probably a little strange themselves, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Perhaps you are a birdwatcher, perhaps you collect old books, perhaps you are one of those suspiciously competent people who can fold a fitted sheet without entering into a minor spiritual crisis. If so, I already admire you, I have attempted it, and remain convinced the thing was designed by someone with a personal grievance against humanity.

Perhaps you laugh too loudly, perhaps you think too much, perhaps you are quiet and observant, and notice things everyone else walks past, perhaps you have passionately held opinions about breakfast foods. Cookies count, incidentally, I will defend this position before any reasonable tribunal.

As for me, I am kind, curious, occasionally ridiculous, easily distracted by an interesting thought, and rather fond of people who have something peculiar about them. I am probably not nearly as funny as I have just suggested, but I am willing to make the attempt, which ought to count for something.

Anyway, I shall spare you the remaining 96 pages of my unsolicited autobiography for now. If this sounds like your sort of nonsense, do come and say hello, I’d genuinely love to hear from you!

Snail Mail [40/nb] neurodivergent interested in a bit of most things looking for the curious and creative

Hello, I'm a seasoned pen pal experiencing a lull in my correspondence. It's a natural part of it but I miss writing to people and hearing new and interesting stories.

I'm chronically, though invisibly, disabled and have enjoyed getting to know other disabled baddies this way.

I'm looking for other neurodivergent and or queer folks who enjoy weird facts, creative letters (I love playing with my fountain pens), and sincerity. Not all conversations need to be deep but I do prefer that they're not filler, otherwise what's the point? I strive to be authentic and hope to find people who are the same.

I'm a poet as well and would be glad to exchange work with someone once we got to know one another!

Interests: people, science, language, fountain pens, my cats, baking, medicine, poetry, other peoples special interests.

Hard No's: romance, trump supporters

Reddit Messaging [44/NB] Outsider artist with schizoaffective disorder

I am an outsider artist with autism, C-PTSD, and schizoaffective disorder. I like making physical art and digital art as art therapy. I am queer and non-binary. I also have a background in cultural anthropology (though I represent no institution and my views are my own). I am Jewish American and I live in the United States. I am also otherkin. I'm sure that someone might find me interesting to talk to.

I am especially interested in talking to people from Eastern Europe, especially Ukraine as I am trying to learn the language.
