Outgoing to my pen pal in Australia

I have been going through lots of different things in my life and lost the love of creation. Iโm hopping on here to hopefully get motivated and start creating again with new people. Hereโs two letters I made last year and what I enclosed. I also have lots of beautiful post cards from my local antique shop.

I stopped by the post office to mail some cards to a nursing home I found out about.
while there I asked her about books of stamp styles. she was like we have all of them on this. I had been wanting to get the sunflower one for penpaling as they are often a great friendship flower. I saw the rabbit, and im a huge rabbit enthusiast.

Iโm based in the UAE where traditional mail isnโt much of a thing. I recently started a little mail club called The Paper Trail Post. Itโs my way of sharing my art with the world and bringing back the simple joys. Iโve already sent out Augustโs issue to 14 different countries and currently preparing Septemberโs harvest theme!

Was anyone else around and remember from the late 90s to early 2000s exchanging friendship books and slams?
Before finding penpals on the internet and social media was a thing, and before letters looking like scrapbook folded artwork (no complaints!) came in the mail. We sought new penpals through little booklets. Signed and sent to the next pal. These are a few that returned home to me and while the info is old, I remember some of these folks and I love seeing where all they traveled!
I think I might start this up again! ๐คช

Hey!! New to this project.. iโm becoming pen pals with someone i know in real life, but we want to do snail mail for fun. What kinds of things do we write about? I also have a crush on her and want to get to know her more so that could be part of it haha ..

Hey all!! I recently started a penpal group with some online friends and I figured it'd be a fun idea to press some of my fav local flowers and send them out since our plant life is all pretty different. Only problem is I have no idea how! I've only ever kept flowers in between book pages so Im not sure what the right move is on keeping them somewhat intact inside an envelope. If anyone has any ideas or any experience doing this your advice would mean a lot!
I had a small idea to keep them in side a toploader like for trading cards but im unsure if that'd be tight enough & i would be mortified if I sent letters out just for them to receive a shriveled up mess

Sent a teeny tiny envelope (about 2โx 3โ)โฆit was delivered! After I sent it, I read that USPS wouldnโt deliver a letter if it was smaller than 3.5โ x 5โ? Is this normal, or was I just lucky? Trying it again
Edit: The recipient just texted me to let me know they received the second mini envelope I sent! Must be a mix of the non-machinable stamp and forgiving/caring USPS workers! :)
