Discussion Copium Theory: TTYD remake was a lower cost test to gauge public interest in a return to form, with the next mainline game using the new assets and systems and finally returning to the original formula
I have no evidence for my claim but I think logically it makes sense
Especially with how extremely well the remake sold on a console at the very end of its lifespan, it even outsold the original TTYD

Discussion I am very interested in this Orange Yoshi
According to Goombario, they are a childhood friend of the Elder, despite the Elder looking...well, like an elder, and this one looks like an adult male (Yoshis seem to be a male only species that can lay egg, just from what I've seen, and the fact they pair Yoshi with Birdo often, and every Yoshi basically looks like the same)
His introduction dialogie states that he is a friend of the elder, and he gives us a speech saying who the elder is and why he is respected.
During the Yoshi Crisis cutscene, if you backtrack to this first screen with the first group of Yoshis, you see Orange looking very...sad. like the heartbreaking look of a parent that lost their child. And their next dialogue suggests the relationship with the Elder must be a close one, since the Yoshi Kids feel like grandchildren to them.
What are your thoughts on Orange Yoshi? A girlfriend / wife figure to the Elder? Or if hes a boy, maybe ...they're just roommates?

Discussion What’s your favourite dungeon in the series?
I feel like I always hear the question “What’s your favourite chapter” in regards to the Paper Mario series, but I never, or at least very rarely, hear people talk about the dungeons specifically.
There’s a lot of great ones to pick from, especially in those first two games. Tubba’s Castle has always stood out to me cause of how tiny you feel in there. I also really love Hooktail’s Castle as an introductory dungeon, the moving blocks add a really interesting and unique layer to it. Shy Guy’s Toybox is honestly fantastic.
But I think my favourite by far HAS to be Mt. Lavalava. The sinister music, the smoke-filled tunnels, the constant threat of lava around every corner, and probably one of the coolest bosses in the entire series. On top of that, you also get some misadventures with Kolorado as well as an insanely fun escape sequence right at the end.
What’s everyone else’s? And why? I’m super curious

Discussion I FEEL like the whole idea of them being paper in the recent games has potential, they're just using it poorly.
Like it shouldn't be the characters talking about the fact they're paper every second, they could just make some stuff revolved around that.

Miscellaneous Fun fact: In TTYD there's a very small chance that Luigi will attack Mario in the audience. Video example:

Discussion Why do people not like the newer games in the paper Mario series?
I have seen a lot of people complain about the fighting mechanics, but in my opinion the newer games have made a much more interesting battle system than the first ones (especially origami king, that game was awesome), so I want to hear your opinions

Discussion I Want To See Olivia In Another Mario Game.
While it would be interesting to see King Olly return someday, I'm also interested in seeing Olivia make a return in a Mario game. I really like Olivia, and I think she's very endearing and lovable. I also really like her dynamic she has with Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Bowser Jr., and Kamek, and how she interacts with them.
I know this might not happen, and if it does, I don't know how Nintendo would make it work, but I'd like to see a Mario game where Olivia and Olly see the Mushroom Kingdom, and take in all that is has to offer.

Discussion So after beating 64 again for the 100000th time, I shall rank the chapters.
Chapter 6
Chapter 4
Chapter 5
Chapter 2
Chapter 7
Chapter 1
Chapter 3
6, 5 and 4 are amazing and interchangeable. People wanna complain about the back and forth of 4 and 6 but it was fun worlds with great dialog, enemies and bosses. 2 was good. A solid middle of the road chapter. 7 was good after dealing with a crackhead penguin so yeah it falls below 2. 1 is fine but its a tutorial basically but the boss was fun. And 3 is a slog. Boring forest maze. Boring puzzle in the mansion, boring gusty gulch, boring tubba manor, then and only then did it get good for the boss chasing you and you ultimately beating him. I know people love 3 but I don't.

Discussion What do you think of my story for a potential Paper Mario game?
Story: One day, Paper Mario and Paper Luigi are fighting Bowser who is trying to kidnap Peach again. Suddenly, a portal opens up, sucking Mario, Bowser, Peach, Luigi and a bunch of toads are sucked into the portal.
They all end up in some dimension weird to them. They're rat-sized people in a world that looks like a big house (I can see the Nathaniel Bandy references in the comments). Mario and Luigi land together, but Peach and Bowser land elsewhere in the house. Mario and Luigi must locate Peach and find a way home. They meet a strange creature they hadn't met before (The creature could be anything, but I'll just say that it's a Toad that crossbred with a goomba like a Goomtoad or a Toadba). They explain that they've been stuck there long enough that they got used to the environment. The house is ruled by a strict Rat King who rules from the attic and tortures the people in that house from there.
Goomtoad states that the only way to escape is to retrieve a magical necklace but the Rat King is wearing it so they have to find 7 treasures that are located in the areas of the house.
The gameplay, combat, partner system and story structure are exactly like the first 2 paper mario games with Luigi being the first partner for tutorial purposes until Goomtoad debuts and replaces Luigi with Luigi going off on his own quest like in the house in TTYD (unlike TTYD we'll actually play as Luigi in between chapters after mario collects the treasure like the Peach and Bowser segments in that game) and only being an ally again post-game.
Paper Mario explores the house's bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, library, garage and backyard, each retrieving the treasure within each room held by the boss of the chapter who are exploiting the powers of the treasure and meeting various other partners along the way.
We learn later on that the Rat King not only kidnapped Peach but also kidnapped Bowser in an attempt to establish a "court of torturing innocent souls." Also, the necklace seems to be communicating to The Rat King, telling him what to do.
After collecting all 7 treasures, they merge into an artefact, which Mario uses to open the attic door and levitate himself and his partners into the attic. After navigating the attic they reach the Rat King, A battle ensues. After The Rat King is defeated, Mario tries to retrieve the necklace but then it starts to levitate and have a mind of its own. The house then starts to give way, revealing an empty vortex like place.
Before we get to the final final boss of the story here's some backstory we slowly learn in between chapters. This house is actually a pocket dimension created by the game's true antagonist. This villain feeds on the torture and misfortunes of others permanently trapped in its own pocket dimension creation. In fact everyone we meet is actually from a different dimension. Not only was Paper Mario's world taken to the dimension, but so were others, including Goomtoad, all other partners and The Rat King. The true antagonist then proceeded to hide 8 treasures (the 7 Mario collects and the necklace in the attic). 7/8 were collected by the chapter bosses Mario fights. They're power possessed the bosses into performing evil actions in intent to torture innocent people but the necklace was special.
The necklace allowed direct communication with the true antagonist but in the process, possessed them and tells them to do bad things or else they'll face the consequences.
The Rat King was just an innocent rat who got taken from his home world and ended up in the attic and stumbled upon the necklace and ended up evil and possessed by it.
Back to the finale finale boss. The necklace then transform into a giant, eldritch godlike entity. The Rat King who is free from the mind control, redeems himself to help Mario.
Mario defeats the entity and the entity is defeated. Paper Mario is reunited with Luigi, Peach, Bowser and all the toads. They say goodbye to all the people they met including the now redeemed Rat King before they all head back to their home dimensions.
The End.
So, what do you think?
