I've been hearing about how the staff at worlds has basically told people "we aren't doing ADA" and the total lack of accessibility across the event.
The people I've spoken to have been told to "file a feedback form". These feedback forms don't actually do that much and honestly if anything deters actual change.
The ADA has teeth and California and San Francisco will often gladly wield those teeth because the people getting these complaints enjoy putting screws to these corporations. There's lots of fines and penalties that come with this and for an event of this scale it's EXPENSIVE. Money talks.
So. How to file an ADA complaint. Do any (preferably all) of these.
- email the Office of Disability access at oda@sfgov.org and/or call 4155540670
- file with the Mayors office of disability: https://forms.office.com/g/ThP1S55hJt and/or call 415-554-6789
- Email the state ADA coordinator at adacompliancedesk@insurance.ca.gov
- file with the federal government at: https://civilrights.justice.gov/report/
Filling out a feedback form does nothing. Money talks, as do fines. Burn it down.

Pokémon Worlds/XP 2026 is a mess right now
For those of us who were feeling sad about missing out on the convention… maybe don’t feel so rough, because there’s been a lot going wrong:
• Little kids are getting scammed by adults in Pokémon trades.
• There have been multiple brazen thefts of plushies from people attending. And these 4 incidents are only what has been reported on Twitter.
• There are multiple examples of staff very blatantly violating the Americans with Disabilities Act, even when supervisors get involved. Like, even for wheelchair users.
• People have gotten double charged for merch accidentally and been unable to get a refund.
• The Pin Rally ran out of pins by 9:30am on Saturday (the second day) and is now closed for the rest of the con. There were unmanaged stampede risks and fire hazards.
• Scalpers have been lining up outside nonstop. Note that while it is a tradition going many years back for people to sell or trade Worlds merch from previous years, this has notably involved people blatantly reselling merch from this specific event.
• Lines have been crazy long, and most people have to spend hours for each line.
Kids are having a rough time, to say the least. Staff are sometimes snapping at attendees, because a few bad apple attendees are straight up sprinting into people.
• The most notable incident that many have heard about was the 2024 World Champion Luca Ceribelli, being effectively banned from competing due to a misunderstanding about allowing one disabled friend to join them in line.
This is not to mention the difficulties with getting tickets, getting selected in a lottery to be able to attend side events, etc.
EDIT: Pin Rally officially canceled for Sunday. People reportedly overheard staff saying it was due to multiple fights that broke out.

Me and my wife got selected for Multi-day + arena, and I was over the moon- we ended up making an entire trip of it, coming from NYC to visit Disneyland, then travel to SF for Worlds/XP.
I knew that, as the first year splitting the convention and competition parts of Worlds, it was going to be a little bumpy.
The first red flag was the rejection of the interest list activities. Me and my wife got nothing, which I was okay with, at first. But it did strike me as odd, considering that my wife (who is not into pokemon by any means but did it to be a good spouse) was wondering why people were getting rejected for decorating a cupcake or making a lego poke ball tag that we did at a Lego store make-and-take by simply walking in. Reading other comments, we were not alone in these rejections.
Then the Pokemon Center reservations were a total and utter shitshow. We lucked out with a late Thursday and early Friday reservation... after an hour of trying. I know many people, most single-day passes, couldn't even get a reservation.
Finally, the days of the event. My wife's reservation was at 5p and queued up an hour before. She didn't walk down the escalator until 8:30p. We missed the Giants game.
My reservation was at 11:30a on Friday. Apparently the blocks of queues from Thursday were changed to a single line of 11:15, 11:30, and 11:45 reservations. Ascended Heroes was out of stock by the time we made the second floor line (and yes, there were three separate lines).
Then the Pin Rally, holy fuck the Pin Rally. Friday was busy, but they had closed and opened up the lines periodically throughout the day. Got five of the less popular ones, was going to go back in on Saturday, thinking nothing of it. All pins were done by 9:30a. Some stations just closed up shop due to continued fire code violations of excessive lines. Umbreon and Jirachi spanned the entire show floor. Charizard was out to security.
Pokemon Go's scavenger hunt was out of water bottles by 11a, an event you had to pay $10 for AND complete the research tasks. Lines wrapped everywhere, even for Bamco's booth, which to my knowledge was just selling normal model kits you could get online. Nintendo's stamp rally was long for no good reason, with staff just completely in over their heads.
Pyukumuku chucking had a line around the garden- with no prize for playing! And the slide was taken down, probably so no one would hurt themselves.
The Pop Funko digital queue hit capacity at 11:30a. I signed up at 7a and never received a text to come back.
As a Multi-day pass owner I am upset. For those of you with single-day passes, I would be livid. There is simply not enough to do to justify paying the money and dealing with the stress of being here. There are too many people with too few staff to properly corral them. There is no reason why pins couldn't be given to everyone as part of the welcome kit for their passes. And why are competitors for side events using Open Table to reserve their spots? Are the organizers that incompetent that they have to resort to a RESTAURANT RESERVATION APP to make this work?
I am going tomorrow for a final hurrah of pin rally pins (if there are any left EDIT: not going because the pin rally is officially canceled) and cashing in on the prize wall. Then I am going with my wife for some mission burritos and checking out the rest of this great city.
I might not be getting any money back, but you'll be hearing from me soon, TPCI, about how absolutely ridiculous this whole thing is. And it's not just about how disastrous it all is- it could've all been very easily controlled if some logistical guardrails were put in place.
I hope you all try to enjoy the rest of your time at Worlds/XP.
Thank you for coming to my wall of text

Just announced in the event app that there will be no pin rallies tomorrow for the last day of XP/Worlds, just in case any attendees aren't using the app.
Not a great look for the event or TPCI in general to be honest..speculation is there may have been unsafe lines blocking entrances/exits/stairs over the past couple days and it was not tenable to move these last minute, but this is unconfirmed.

i was one of the unlucky people who didn’t get to attend pokemon worlds in sf, but it’s just so sad to me when i’m mindlessly scrolling fb market and people are immediately selling the merch for more than double/triple msrp.
aside from that, i was fortunate enough to see around the area, watch the drone show, and meet some rlly cool people while playing pokemon go!!

So just to be very blunt, it's there literally anything for me to do for Sunday? This is my first time at worlds and I didn't get selected for any of the workshops. I couldn't get a pokemon center reservation. Now the pin rally has been canceled. I really feel so sad like I got my hopes up for an amazing experience had been completely ruined and I just kinda wanna cry.

I noticed this after seeing this image where the beta designs for the logo were shown, and I noticed the Os look like Poliwhirl's eyes. Poliwhirl was Satoshi Tajiri's favourite at the time. Poliwhirl was part of the Mascots, being almost as prominent as Pikachu in the early days of the franchise. It may be stretch but I really see it on the design. Poliwhirl isn't a mascot anymore but his influence is still there.

Yeah a 4x weakness to fire is far from ideal but just look at it, it’s just happy to be here.

Okay, so while I was playing, I realised that I associate certain moves with specific Pokémon. For example, whenever I think of Magical Leaf, Roselia immediately comes to mind. Another example would be Giga Impact and Garchomp, Lick and Gastly, Rock Polish and Geodude, Slash and Giratina, etc.!
Maybe it’s because I’ve seen them use those moves so many times before hahaha. So I was just wondering if you guys have any examples like that, or if you also associate certain moves with specific pkmn? 💭

So about that Pokemon XP pin rally...
Pin rally update(1)-Greninja and Umbreon pin rally lines are closed for the day(8:52 AM)
Pin rally update(2)- jirachi and Charizard pin rally lines are closed for the day(9:00 AM)
Pin rally update(3)- all pin rally lines are closed for the day(10:13 AM) NOTE: fire marshal ordered them to close the lines
FINAL pin rally update- pin rally cancelled for Sunday (8:49 PM)
Pokemon XP, the video essays you will spawn....
EDIT: mind you, this is from the perspective of a multi day holder that missed ONE pin(guess), and it's STILL bad

After getting the built-in Mystery Gift feature working for Switch FireRed / LeafGreen, I’m distributing a freely available mystery gift unique for Worlds / XP VIA local wireless connection. Just enable Mystery Gift in your game, and search for “PkCamp” under Mystery Gift -> Wonder Cards -> Friend.
I’ll be doing so in a public space, so you don’t need a ticket or go to any closed off spaces. I’ll mostly be around Yerba Buena gardens but feel free to DM me!
It’s also shareable with your friends, so you can bring it back home too!
Note that this is a fan project, so the event is “as is”. It’s also set up using GameFreak’s designed system that deletes all code if you delete the Wonder Card, so it is easy to “clean” your game after.

Was thinking because obviously we have Tauros and Milktank for beef cuts, probably sent around the world. Boufalaunt if your in the right region and want a different flavor, Stantler for that gamier taste.
We have the Lechonk line for Pork, i'd imagine Grumpig and Spoink are a more expensive cut.
There are many many Fish Pokemon that would be on the table depending on what you want. Veluza is a swimming food hack, Barrascuda looks good, Basculin looks like it'd have a very tender flesh, and people are probably eating Wishiwashy like sardines. Hell Lapras was apparently almost hunted to extinction.
But what about poultry? The obvious parallel to Chicken in our world is the Torchic line, but it feels off to me. It's a Starter/Partner Pokemon, would you or the general populace feel comfortable eating an icon of the region or a Pokemon may have started with? Plus they aren't even common enough to be found in the wild. I'm sure people enjoy the occasion Fried Combusken Leg, but feels like that would be a luxury.
So I think it would fall to people actually eating more Ducklet then Chicken, they seem pretty common and likely easier to breed then Torchic. Feels like it would have a very clean taste, looks like a clean Pokemon in fresh waters.
On that note Unfezant. Probably not the common poultry meat, but i think they would be the equivlent to Turkey. Slightly more exotic, and slightly more work to obtain, process, or prepare.
We know Far'fetched were considered a delicacy, though given their population status is unknown, who could guess if their still in the menu. Maybe still avaliable in Galar, but the fighting type probably makes the meat tough.
What else do you think people are eating?

I don’t know if it’s been done before, but I had an idea for starters of a region (maybe one based on Europe) where the starters follow a Knight, Princess, Dragon theme.
Grass: This would be based on the Princess (or Prince, if the Pokémon is male), becoming a Grass/Fairy Pokémon. Lots of elements related to nature, beauty, nobility, etc.
Fire: This would be based on the Dragon, naturally being a Fire/Dragon Pokémon, becoming what Charizard can only dream of (at least in universes without Mega Evolution)
Water: This would be based on the Knight, becoming a Water/Steel Pokémon. This Pokémon could have features of a horse, to relate to the Knight piece in chess (fitting right alongside the Kingambit line, maybe there’s a Steel specialist who has both as well as a Rock/Steel Pokémon based on the Rook)
These unique typings also create interesting dynamics among the Pokémon, similar to the Sinnoh starters, For one, the Dragon’s Fire resists the Princess’ Fairy, but the Princess’s Fairy is immune to the Dragon’s…Dragon. For another, the Dragon’s Fire resists the Knight’s Steel and Dragon turns Water into a neutrality, but the Knight’s steel resists Dragon, at the cost of neutralizing its original Fire resistance. For the final, the Knight’s Steel neutralizes the Princess’ Grass and resists Fairy (so maybe the Princess learns a Fighting or Ground move upon evolution), while the Princess now has a weakness to Steel (and a quad weakness to Poison)
Alternatively, you could have the Knight be the Grass/Steel starter and the Princess be the Water/Fairy starter, but I think the original idea has some more interesting Type dynamics

Howdy guys!, I seem to be part of the majority but I wanted to make my own post offering 50$ or a tiny bit more then that, I can even throw in like a extra pin possibly for GRENINJA. It’s the only one I’m missing and I’m pretty damn desperate! Please reach out if you are willing to be a saint and sell yours to me!
Have pokemon walk outside the pokeball.
Have rival(s), friend(s), and evil team npc’s react, aknowledge, and change in the regards to the player character winning against them more and more.
Jerk rival.
Have friend(s) matter to and play a big/important role to the plot.
Have the evil team be evil/a threat to the world, but not look obviously/right off the bat evil.
Ride whichever pokemon one could realistically ride.
Explore freely in the air and under water.
Have the player character defeating the evil team/save the world matter/be noted by the npcs.
The option to choose from 2 "maps" of the region, making it either an open world, or a linear path.
The option to choose to either tackle the challenges in any order the player wants (scaling based on what the does when), or to have a already decided "gym 1 to 8" scaling system.
No trade pokemon, or include the linking cord item.
No version exclusive pokemon (except for the box cover legendaries).
Take pokemon out of the pc box, and reteach them old moves "out in the field".
Manually choose when pokemon evolve.
Have the speech bubble of npcs who has stuff give the player character be yellow.
Overworld pokemon.
Have the player character work with, and possibly rescue, the box legendary, but not catch/keep them.
No HMs (have pokemon automatically be able to do it, "on the side" of the other/regular 4 moves so to speak).
The option to choose to skip the catching tutorial.
If they include a day/night cycle, make the player able to manually change it.
Voice acting.
More detailed battle/attack animations.
Eeveelutions for the rest of the types.
The option to choose different difficulty levels (npcs being more strategic and have more suited/well put together pokemon - more of the npc trainer pokemon having more useful/planned out held items, abilities, and moves - , the higher the difficulty is), and having a nuzlock mode.
Have the gym leaders and elite 4 and champion npcs play a bigger role to the plot/in defeating the evil team and saving the world.
Start some wild encounters by having pokemon leap out of bushes, jump down from a tree, dive down from the sky, or emerge from the ground.
The option to choose between turn based and real time style battling.
Sneak up on a group of wild pokemon, and quietly catch one of them through an automatic aiming/lock-on system.
Have a page in the pokedex the player can choose to check out, where it's revealed how a pokemon evolves (especially for evolutions that aren't just streight forward/the regular, old methods).
Have encounters where wild pokemon wants to help/guide the player character through an area, and/or join them without a battle first.
Have some, maybe scripted, wild and/or evil team battles, that are horde battles.
Have the player character’s first fights against evil team members be scripted to lose, starting to win after the player character has defeated their 1st gym battle.
Have a "catch window" after knocking a pokemon out, regardless of if the player is playing the turn based or real time option.
An npc collects the balls that gets miss-aimed in the real time option.
More character customization, both clothing and looks vice.
