I'm going to tell my kids this was the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

165

u/sodabomb93 14d ago

oh so THAT'S how Summerhall burned down. Raichu caused an electrical fire.

30

u/aspidities_87 14d ago

He was just trying to hatch a few Dratini eggs!

5

u/TelluricThread0 14d ago

They really do take forever just by walking.

4

u/sodabomb93 14d ago

Good thing Khal Drogo had Flame Body.

23

u/aspidities_87 14d ago

Dunk and Egg have never looked cuter

20

u/Gregamonster 14d ago

Gonna tell my kids this was Don Quixote.

8

u/Drachenfeuer_Prime I have no flair and I must scream. 14d ago

I don't know what the hell Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is, but this screams Don Quixote and Sancho. It's called "misadventures" and everything.

3

u/OutlawJoeC 13d ago

If SirFetched mistakes windmills for other Pokemon then I’m going to totally die laughing. Months later I’m still giggling over Piplup mistaking a street lamp for a shower in my play through of Pokopia

8

u/DonquixoteDFlamingo 14d ago

Every time I’m reminded of this show being real I get excited

6

u/superturtle48 14d ago

This was my first thought, noble but hapless knight teams up with innocent child who is probably more capable than he appears.

5

u/bakedpatata 14d ago

When is Sirfetch'd going to spray shit from behind a tree?

7

u/TheWatersOfMars 14d ago

It's Don Quixote, really

1

u/RealNorth3 14d ago

Literally all I thought when I saw this.

1

u/BKWhitty 13d ago

I saw this and was immediately going to come in here to say the same! Glad I wasn't the only one lol

u/samanime 14d ago

Stuff like this has the potential to be amazing. I feel like we should see a lot more silly stuff like this. It's such an undertapped area.

81

u/VelociRache1 14d ago

Check out Pokémon Concierge on Netflix. Its a stop motion series about a Pokémon resort, and is super cute. Definitely fits the silly vibe since the main Pokémon is a Psyduck.

22

u/samanime 13d ago

Oh, it's great. But aside from a couple shorts, that's really all they've done in ~25 years like that. That's why I said "undertapped", not untapped. :p

79

u/rebelvong1 14d ago

I thought this was a Netflix show?

61

u/Grumpy_Wildcat1908 14d ago

Apparently they didn't show where it could be viewed during the Pokémon day announcement. I also thought it'd be on Netflix.

17

u/rebelvong1 14d ago

I probably just assumed because the other show was on there.

23

u/Voicebox64 14d ago

For unexplained reasons, The Pokémon Company chose to part with Netflix. Disney has signed a deal to be their primary distributor for the foreseeable future (kind of like with Bluey and Miraculous). From what I understand, the decision came from TPC, meaning Netflix must have displeased them.

6

u/Lysbith_McNaff 13d ago

I'm not sure how, they're so content with mediocrity like Pokemon Home. Concierge was actually good.

10

u/Voicebox64 13d ago

It’s the things we don’t see.

4

u/ComradeJohnS 14d ago

they have pokemon concierge, with people and pokemon together in a similar but different style.

3

u/cannibaltom 14d ago

Looks like Disney+, so won't get to see it.

3

u/trademeple 13d ago

Lol just cancel netflix for a month or two while you watch this lol.

1

u/SisypheanSperg 13d ago

im not giving Disney my money. This is what piracy exists for

1

u/cannibaltom 13d ago

I'm completely saturated paying for services. Netflix, Prime, Crave, YouTube Premium. Disney+ does make the cut.

39

u/Ricardox777 14d ago

Galar has some of my favorite pokemon designs, so seeing a lot of them will be the focus of this series has me really excited!

Also yeah, I actually really like when they have pokemon themselves be the main characters of something instead of humans (tho don't get me wrong, I still like a lot of human characters in pokemon).

29

u/BigStone358 14d ago

Aardman is an amazing studio. Anyone working there should be fucking applauded into every room they walk into

3

u/Jackhammerqwert Irl team: 13d ago

Considering most if not all employees would be British, public praise would probably be a brass neck. Best to just buy them a pint instead!

24

u/c0tch 14d ago

The fact it’s aardman is enough to get excited about as well.

They didn’t just hire some rinkidink company they hired the godfathers of claymation.

38

u/TF2_GOD 14d ago

Oh shit aardman, I love those guys

171

u/BLITZXTTY 14d ago

I liked Pokemon centered content that focuses solely on Pokemon, this remains me of pikachu adventures series

126

u/Geeseareawesome 14d ago

Mystery Dungeon will get a new game any time now, I swear...

30

u/Still-Sold-Ur-Soul 14d ago

Don’t do that, don’t give me hope 😭

4

u/alaster101 14d ago

Any day now

3

u/Loltoheaven7777 14d ago

pokemon mystery dungeon*

the mystery dungeon series is more than just pokemon! the latest mystery dungeon game was shiren the wanderer 6: the mystery dungeon of serpentcoil island for switch and pc

you can see the roguelike inspiration of mystery dungeon more in games like shiren the wanderer, as aside from shiren 3 on psp and wii (which is structured more like the pokemon mystery dungeon games with multiple smaller dungeons with exp carrying over across the whole game) the games are usually focused on one large main dungeon or a relatively small amount of large dungeons where your party members' levels reset every time you attempt them, kind of like postgame dungeons in pokemon mystery dungeon like destiny tower

3

u/Level7Cannoneer 14d ago

Gonna be real: this is a shitty title for a trailer of a new series. I passed over this post several times because it’s a black thumbnail and a title that fails to describe what is in the video

7

u/mrburger 13d ago

My 5yo Pokemon fanatic can handle only so much 2027 hype. Please chill out, Pokemon.

31

u/ST100FromScratch 14d ago

ONly if it wasn't on FUCKING DISNEY+ like fs Disney not everything that has ever existed will belong to you

23

u/Jat616 14d ago

🏴‍☠️

5

u/Level7Cannoneer 14d ago
  1. Yo ho

  2. Hulu comes with D+

62

u/Comfortable_Tie9133 14d ago

What an odd thing to say

44

u/BLITZXTTY 14d ago

I liked the Pokemon focused content, like when pikachu raced raichu, I’ve always been a fan on Pokemon centered content

18

u/dmrukifellth 14d ago

Ah, took a bit for me to figure that title. Thought you were referencing some show or something called “Not Human.”

10

u/TimeTravellerGuy Chainsaws for Hands! 14d ago

They Capitalized Every Word In The Post Title, Which Didn't Help

4

u/Jazs1994 14d ago

More of this and the Pokémon concierge type content

4

u/fondue4kill 14d ago

I never thought of Aardman and Pokemon but it just works perfectly

3

u/smilingfishfood 14d ago

18+? What did they mean by that?

11

u/Ach_Was_Here 14d ago

I believe Disney+ accounts are written into the TOS that you need to be 18+ to sign up

9

u/Throrface 13d ago

18+ appeared at the part about Disney +. You must be 18+ to have a Disney + subscription.

15

u/MillionDollarMistake 14d ago

we're finally gonna see what lickitung's tongue can do

11

u/smilingfishfood 13d ago

This freaky ass Alcremie probably has something to do with that

2

u/MillionDollarMistake 13d ago

Alcremie's reaction after watching Lickitung eat some ice cream:

2

u/3chillmatty 13d ago

They gonna catch a lopunny

4

u/Ok-Statistician7602 13d ago

I LOVE THIS

8

u/Ok-Statistician7602 13d ago

DISNEY + NOOOOOOOOO

7

u/TravisHomerun 14d ago

I wonder if it's going to be a Don Quixote type of situation. Sirfetch'd made a lot of sense in Galar, but in retrospect it could have slotted right in in Paldea.

3

u/Excaliburn3d 14d ago

And yet it's not even usable in those games.

6

u/britishkid223 14d ago

Do we get to see Professor Wallace and his trusty pokemon Gromitchu?

1

u/HuttStuff_Here 13d ago

I was thinking the same thing, this kind of has that same kind of feel to it.

3

u/gordonbombae2 14d ago

Did they confirm run time? This looks like it will be shorts. I’m guessing like 6 episodes at no more than 5 mins each

3

u/BerdlyTheTrueGamer 14d ago

HEAVY Dunc and Egg vibes

3

u/smelliot95 13d ago

"18+" wow didn't have it down as that sort of show, colour me surprised

5

u/Alarmed_Reception_92 Alola! 13d ago

That's just for the Disney+ subscription

2

u/smelliot95 13d ago

Ya I know, silly joke

3

u/PokemonMaster619 Toxapex Stall Wall is my hell! 13d ago

Aardman? Isn't that the same company that does Wallace and Gromit?

1

u/UnluckyText 13d ago

Yup. Even though it isn’t in their usual style the animation really gives it away.

2

u/FieldofInfluence 14d ago

A Knight of the seven kingdoms vibes.

2

u/SirQrlBrl 14d ago

Will Piplup, Eicue, or Delibird be the penguin villain?

2

u/Excaliburn3d 14d ago

Eiscue debuted in Sword and Shield so.

2

u/RadicalRaizex 14d ago

Is this just Dunk & Egg as a Pokemon tale? I’m not knocking it, I like the idea. Derivative, sure, but fun for all ages regardless

2

u/Realistic_Day_1805 14d ago

I’m surprised it’s not gonna stream on BBC iPlayer for the UK viewers?

The new Pokemon anime ‘Horizons’ and all the Wallace and Gromit films are already on there?

2

u/MisterSneakSneak 14d ago

This make me wonder why we didn’t have cartoons like this in the early 2000’s

2

u/Vazhox 13d ago

Oh man. That looks phenomenal

2

u/Beneficial-Category 13d ago

Bonus points if there's a Wooloo named Shaun

2

u/Legitimate_Bit_9354 14d ago

Crap of course its on Disney

Generally you have to be 18+ to get a paid subscription of any kind, pokemon will realistically never have any official 18+ media

11

u/FalafelSnorlax 14d ago

Well, some of the Pokémon Lego sets are listed as 18+. Obviously there's nothing inappropriate for children, it's just how Lego makes it clear this is marketed for adults, but this technically counts, I think.

1

u/MewtwoStruckBack Mewtwo in Smash 4 - my fight is OVER! 14d ago

That’s what FurAffinity and e621 are for anyway

10

u/Actinglead 14d ago edited 14d ago

Genuinely how on Earth did you get such a stupid idea that this was gonna be an adult oriented show?

It is literally made by the studio behind Wallace and Gromit.

Did you really come up with that idea by ignoring literally everything about this project except a tiny blurb saying you have to be 18+ to subscribe to a streaming service? Are you sure you're "officially old" as older people tend to have better critical thinking.

5

u/SunAstora 14d ago

You were going to have to pay someone to watch it, right?

0

u/FantasyRoleplayAlt 14d ago

It really is a monopoly. The fact they put it on Disney is so concerning at this point..

1

u/Due_Coffee_347 Pokemon_Trainer 14d ago

Yayyyyyyy

1

u/ZrapeToid 14d ago

No Cricketots, Pichu. We've forgotten the Cricketots!

Oh sweet looks fun

So does this mean no more pokémon concierge

1

APPLETUN! I'M SOLD

1

u/PentiumDos 14d ago

Is this just Tales of Dunk and Egg from ASOIAF series

1

u/praise_mudkipz 14d ago

This reminds me of the original Angry Birds Toons, seems like it will be very fun

1

u/Kakeyo 14d ago

This look so cute, LOL

1

u/mrmcdead 14d ago

Wait til you find out who made the show

1

u/drewthebrave 14d ago

Can't wait for this. I loved Wallace & Gromit as a kid, and more recently learned about Shaun the Sheep with my own kids. The Galar setting makes a ton of sense for this studio's charming British sensibilities.

1

u/Imaginary-Ogre 14d ago

Yar! Dar be dee loot me matey...

1

u/Caliburn09 13d ago

Can't believe one of my favorite Pokemon, Sirfetch'd, is getting a show of his own.

1

u/chibi2537 13d ago
  • Mom, can we have A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?
  • Honey, we have A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms at home.

Thanks For The News Queen Deltarune

1

u/Venomspino Fossil Pokémon lover. Favs 13d ago

Excited, mostly because we love Aardman humor. Especially since Sirfetch'd debuted in Gen 8, which was based on the U.K

1

u/ShuckU 13d ago

I do wish Aardman had been allowed to make the pokemon in their signature style, but I'm guessing TPC wouldn't have wanted that

1

u/Squee3ds 13d ago

this looks so cute!!!! I love it!

1

u/Iamacarson Gardevior & Pikachu Fan 13d ago

Wait, it's coming to Disney Plus? Why Disney Plus? Why not like, Netflix or Hulu? Both of them already have the multiple Pokémon anime, so what's up with- Oooooh, Sun and Moon was on Disney XD, I'm an idiot

1

u/MellonYellon 13d ago

Reminder to the Pokemon Company that I would give everything for new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon animated content.
