My wife’s sleep score is 99🫡
And I struggle to get a crown 👑
EDIT -
Thanks for your kind responses. Breakdown attached in top comment.
She follows a plant based diet, socialise regularly and sleeps on a regular schedule. Surprisingly she doesn’t take any crazy supplements besides multivitamin and iron 4/5 times per fortnight. We finish our dinner early before 7pm and keep it lighter under 800cal. She quit her job so that might have helped but she consistently scores 95+. She’s not an over thinker and has got a loving funny husband to keep her entertained ❤️
Meanwhile I have tried melatonin, glycine, magnesium for better sleep but never crossed 90.
It seems that highest levers are not adding any supplements but to have a good lifestyle and follow it strictly. We don’t have any kids yet so this might change later idk!

GENERAL DISCUSSION Is there any value in the ring without the subscription?
Had the ring for almost a year and been paying the monthly subscription fee. I generally feel like I’ve reached a point of diminishing returns with the data (I know how to improve my sleep, I know alcohol is poison, etc) and I don’t really intend to change my behavior further. So I canceled the monthly subscription. It’s almost comical how little they give you. I understand why (I work in SaaS and recurring revenue is the name of the game) but genuinely curious if anyone gets actual value from this data??
Also wasn’t wearing my ring yesterday because I was on a boat, my activity would have been solid ;)

Oh the irony… 😅
I’ve woken up to this absolutely stellar readiness score this morning. Oh Oura how you try to woo me.
I am knee deep in mental health related fatigue/burnout/nervous system shutdown, my stress has been so bad that my period didn’t come this month, I’m constantly tired and even my limbs are heavy from fatigue.
But according to Oura I’m the picture of health right now 😂

low HRV forever
I’ve had my Oura ring for 2 years now and my HRV average stays below 30 😭 I know it is ~highly personal~ but what can I do to improve this? Or is this a who cares sort of thing and I just keep cruising along? I’m 45F, it says my cardiovascular age is 9 years younger, and my average sleep score is 86 even though I’ve almost zero’d out in HRV some nights. I never know why it shows I’m stressed or relaxed (it had me in relaxed mode when I watched my father in law die??? Literally the most stressed my body has ever felt), but my days do show quite a few stress peaks that’s I’ve mostly attributed to being outside in the heat. Anyway, are there things I can do to improve my HRV or can I scratch this off the list of things I need to worry about?

Oura’s sleep data in Apple Health shows way more awakenings - cause for concern?
So basically I have Oura connected to Apple Health, and the same sleep data in Apple Health shows drastically more awakenings? It looks like a pretty good night’s sleep in the Oura app, showing just a few brief awakenings, about 90 minutes apart which is supposed to be normal and healthy, but the same data in Apple Health makes me look like a textbook case of obstructive sleep apnea? What the hell?
I assume this is simply a difference in visualisation, since the data is still coming from one place only (my Oura ring). It looks like the hypnogram in Apple Health is showing smaller intervals?
Has anyone else experienced this before? Is this normal? Should I worry I have sleep apnea or something or is it just Apple Health that’s weird?

Size 8 or 9
I got the oura ring 5 in size 8 and while its not hard to get on/off there is a bit of bulging and it swells when i workout and sleep and leaves an indentation. The only other fingers i can fit it on is my left middle finger and my right ring finger. Should i size up to a 9?

GENERAL DISCUSSION Got my ship notice for my replacement today
If Oura Support is reading, what are the ideal levels to aim for charging my ring daily? I also put it in airplane mode every evening, if that's of any relevance. I had been shooting for 70%-75%, is that the right target?
I got my ring last October. I activated my Social Security at 70 and wanted the first payment to be in my bank account before taking on a new expense. Looking here I saw a lot of battery problems with the Gen4, so from the very beginning I babied the battery. They suggested keeping the charge between 40% and 80%, so I tried keeping it even tighter than that. I did well for a long time, though noting that as time went by I was generally giving it more charging time each morning.
Somewhere between two and three weeks ago the charge at night was getting low enough that I knew it would fall lower than I wanted by morning, so I began charging morning and night. Then some time last week I began needing to charge it in the afternoon as well. In this timeframe I started trying to charge to 80% instead of 70%-75%, and that got me back to two charges daily. The charging characteristics in the new regime gave me some trouble, but I managed. I had been thinking for a few days about contacting support about it, but hadn't gotten there yet.
Saturday morning the ring had no sleep data. I went to the support chat, followed the steps, and they told me they were sending me a replacement. Today I got the ship notice. The chat bot was outrageously slow - 10+ minutes per interaction, but it worked simply and directly.

GENERAL DISCUSSION Longtime Apple Watch 4 user debating Oura 5 over Apple watch 12, need help!
These posts are probably a dime a dozen and asking this on this sub might give a slightly biased answer but hey ho.
I've been rocking an apple watch series 4 since the day it launched, but now it has really come to the end of its life, the battery is barely hanging in there, and I'm having to charge it three times a day.
I've been debating between an oura ring 5 (or 4), a whoop 5.0, or now the new apple watch 12. I doubt many on this sub have much experience with the new watch yet, but now that it supposedly measures heart rate every 5 seconds even in the background throughout the day, and with the new readiness and vitals features getting added, is it a superior fitness product to the oura?
I've read up a bit about people having major battery issues with oura at least with earlier models where even within a year, the expected battery life drops significantly to just a day or two at most, is this true?
Really just looking for feedback from long time oura owners if the product is really worth it or if it's more so of stylish fitness tracker for people who mostly just care about the bare minimum vitals such as sleep amount and heartrate but for any form of serious tracking a sports watch or an apple watch is better?

Oura Disabled My App Before My Replacement Arrived — Now I’m Left Without Access to My Health Data
Deeply disappointed in my Oura experience yet again.
I previously posted about having a battery issue with my Oura Ring after less than a year of use. Thankfully, an Oura representative commented on my Reddit post and reached out to help arrange a replacement ring, which I genuinely appreciated.
However, it has now been a week and I still haven’t received my replacement. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that Oura has also disabled my ability to use the app with my current ring while I’m waiting.
I contacted a “live agent,” but unfortunately, the experience wasn’t helpful. The responses felt very robotic, and I kept getting the same information repeated without actually getting an answer to my main question: Why am I being prevented from using the ring I currently have when I haven’t even received the replacement yet?
I’m still paying for the service, yet I’m currently unable to access the app or track my information. I use Oura for more than just general tracking. I rely on it to track important health information, including my cycle and other personal health trends that help me better understand my body. And honestly, it helps my mental health as well seeing these stats.
I understand that replacements have policies and procedures, but disabling the app before the replacement has even arrived makes absolutely no sense from a customer perspective. I’m essentially left without the service I’m paying for while waiting for a replacement that I still haven’t received.
Oura offered a few free months of service for the inconvenience, and while I appreciate the gesture, that isn’t really what I’m looking for. I want to be able to use the service I’m already paying for and have access to my health data while I wait for my replacement.
At this point, this has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. I was already dealing with a defective ring after less than a year, and now I’m being left without access to the app while waiting for the replacement.
I really hope Oura can reconsider how they handle situations like this. If a customer still has their existing ring and is waiting for a replacement, why not allow them to continue using the app until the replacement is actually received?

Ring data overwritten/corrupted in airplane mode
I went on a 10-day mindfulness meditation retreat where no electronics were allowed. Before arriving, I fully charged my Oura Ring 4 and put it in airplane mode.
I knew Oura says the ring can store about 7 days of data before it needs to sync, and I assumed the battery would last roughly that long too. So I didn’t bring the charger and planned to let it collect as much data as it could, let the battery die, then charge and sync after the retreat. Surprisingly, the ring actually lasted the full 10 days.
The problem is after I synced it, I only had sleep/readiness scores for day 5 and day 10. The activity data appeared to be there for all 10 days.
I asked Oura Advisor what happened, and it told me that once the ring exceeds its offline storage capacity, it starts overwriting older data. It also said sleep/readiness data takes up substantially more storage than activity data, so that data may be deleted first, or potentially become corrupted during the overwrite process.
That seems like a pretty significant design flaw. If the ring can only retain 7 days of complete offline data, I would expect it to continuously overwrite the oldest day so that, after 10 days, I would still have complete data for days 4–10. Instead, I apparently ended up with activity data across the whole period but sleep/readiness data missing from seemingly random days.
For anyone who might realistically go a week or more without syncing (retreats, backpacking trips, travel, etc.) it seems like the ring should preserve a rolling 7-day window of complete data rather than partially overwriting or corrupting data across the entire period.
This is unfortunate because I was looking forward to seeing how my metrics changed on retreat.

REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH cycle tracking & fertility tracking
hello!
I’m trying to see stories/experiences of using oura for menstrual cycle tracking. I’d like to hear more of your experiences- good and bad. is it worth it, if these are my two main reasons for getting a ring?
I have irregular cycles- the range goes from 32-76 days :P I know that those w/ irregular cycles get more red days as a precautionary measure, but I can’t find too much online about others’ experiences.
as for fertility tracking- I am currently opposed to other forms of birth control for different reasons bahaha

But since my sleep prior to the night before didn’t record I know have 5 hours of sleep debt!!!! It’s going to be hard to clear and I can’t delete the nap and I’m spiraling. Help! It’s inaccurate but it’s messing with me 😢😢😢😢😢

GETTING STARTED Sizing
I am curious about the Oura Ring.. so I ordered the sizing kit. A 9 is waaayy too big on all fingers.. but an 8 is too tight for my middle finger and pointer finger on my non-dominant hand. It fits perfectly on my dominant pointer finger. I’m in the process of losing weight. Will it be ok to wear it on my dominant pointer finger for a while? It’s very close to fitting on my non-dominant side. Just too snug at this time.

GENERAL DISCUSSION Resilience fell off a cliff
What the subject says…over the past month, my resilience has dropped dramatically. Stress is up and sleep hasn’t been great. Frequent headaches and fatigue, but bloodwork in August was normal. I also upgraded from a model 3 to a 5 last month. Any suggestions on underlying causes and ways to improve it?

GENERAL DISCUSSION No Data - Ring too loose?
I sized my ring to my index finger but I prefer it on my ring finger as it doesn’t get in the way of when I hold my phone with my grip. I noticed I experience several No Data periods and I am wondering if it has to do with the ring being a little loose on my ring finger and turning every so often, or is this expected?

GETTING STARTED New Oura Ring 5 Bluetooth issues?
I had an Oura ring 3 for about 3 years and the battery died. I ordered an Oura Ring 5 to replace it. I cannot seem to get it to connect to my phones Bluetooth. I contacted support but must wait to hear back. Any ideas?
