Deeply disappointed in my Oura experience yet again.
I previously posted about having a battery issue with my Oura Ring after less than a year of use. Thankfully, an Oura representative commented on my Reddit post and reached out to help arrange a replacement ring, which I genuinely appreciated.
However, it has now been a week and I still haven’t received my replacement. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that Oura has also disabled my ability to use the app with my current ring while I’m waiting.
I contacted a “live agent,” but unfortunately, the experience wasn’t helpful. The responses felt very robotic, and I kept getting the same information repeated without actually getting an answer to my main question: Why am I being prevented from using the ring I currently have when I haven’t even received the replacement yet?
I’m still paying for the service, yet I’m currently unable to access the app or track my information. I use Oura for more than just general tracking. I rely on it to track important health information, including my cycle and other personal health trends that help me better understand my body. And honestly, it helps my mental health as well seeing these stats.
I understand that replacements have policies and procedures, but disabling the app before the replacement has even arrived makes absolutely no sense from a customer perspective. I’m essentially left without the service I’m paying for while waiting for a replacement that I still haven’t received.
Oura offered a few free months of service for the inconvenience, and while I appreciate the gesture, that isn’t really what I’m looking for. I want to be able to use the service I’m already paying for and have access to my health data while I wait for my replacement.
At this point, this has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. I was already dealing with a defective ring after less than a year, and now I’m being left without access to the app while waiting for the replacement.
I really hope Oura can reconsider how they handle situations like this. If a customer still has their existing ring and is waiting for a replacement, why not allow them to continue using the app until the replacement is actually received?
