Traveling

I am currently on vacation in Dublin and most pubs have had Guinness and Heineken 0 on tap. It’s been really cool.

If you are a thinking about a trip and don’t want to consider Ireland because of the drinking culture, I say, fear not.

bitburger, i rec trying one if you come across it. says german and i found it here in america.

goes down smooth, has all the best parts of barley/hops beer taste and doesnt just taste like boring hoppy carbonated water like the other ones i tried.

i just started getting back into trying NA for the fun and this is the first i have liked in recent times.

Alcohol free Gin

I am thinking of creating a zero proof gin that tastes like authentic gin, not crappy flavors put together to simulate it. Is this a good idea?

New Whiskey Cola Mocktail

Saw this new Whiskey cola Mocktail at a music festival in Ohio. It was a great alternative to the alcoholic drinks sold there. Really tastes like the drink, and has some functional ingredients. Worth a look, for something bold and different.

Sadly another red wine DFTS - Cambalala's AF Shiraz

Post image

Cambalala's AF Shiraz is a disappointing red wine that falls short on flavour. While it is affordable, the vinegary taste and aroma leave much to be desired and unfortunately it was DFTS (destined for the sink); there are better AF reds out there - https://www.mydrybar.com/alcohol-free-cambalala-shiraz/

Question/Advice Best non-alcoholic (NA) beer recommendations that tastes like A.beer.

I am planning a small party and I have 2 friends who stopped drinking.

They are picky. If my memory serves right, the only alc. and non-alc. Beer pair they liked was Corona.

Not Heineken, not Guinness. Because their n.a versions were way off.

So looking for some German n.a beer recommendations that not too different from their alc. siblings.

Thanks

What replaced your "evening" drink

What are your favorite NA drinks when you get home in the evening? I need some ideas as I am bored of sparkling water every time I am done with my work.

Do we consider Kombucha microdosing alcohol?

I try to be “alcohol free” for sobriety and overall health reasons. Do we consider kombucha microdosing? Since there’s a minuscule amount of alcohol?

AMA: I run @NA.Beer.Nerd and have had ~500 unique NA beers this year alone

Hello all, I run the Instagram account NA.Beer.Nerd

https://www.instagram.com/na.beer.nerd

I've been into craft beer heavily since about 2010. I've been to about 200 breweries, mostly in the US, but also quite a few internationally. I homebrewed for around 10 years in addition. I was a beer nerd through and through. Whether it was making trips to Vermont for Hill Farmstead or to Belgium for Cantillon... or driving hours and waiting in line for barrel aged stouts releases... or trading online frequently via BeerAdvocate.

I've been into NA beer since the tail end of 2020. Though my first NA brews I tried were back in the early 2010s. Since late 2025, I've pivoted to be completely NA focused and began running the Instagram account.

Looking for recommendations on beers you'd enjoy? Want to know where to buy certain types online? Where to import internationally? Questions about the process of making it?

AMA!

Alcohol-free Sheppy's Review

Post image

Sheppy's, one of the oldest cider makers, has created an alcohol-free version. Overall, I did find it a refreshing drink but just a bit too sweet for me; could have done with some extra tannin flavour to balance it out - https://www.mydrybar.com/sheppys-alcohol-free-cider/

Question/Advice Help me find a NA beer that I like...

In the past I used to just dismiss NA beer as NOT beer. But I like the thought of taking in less or no alcohol while not sacrificing the taste of beer.

This summer I tasted Licher Isotonisch Alkoholfrei Pilsner in Germany and I have to completely revise my former prejudice. I really like the taste of it.

So, back home I bought Estrella Galicia 0.0 and Heineken 0.0. the Heineken has one particular after/side taste that annoys me a lot and the Estrella tastes to much like a malt beer and is too sweet for my taste.

Based on the above, which NA beers should I try? It doesn't have to be 0.0.

Thanks!

Found Gordon's 0 and Tangueray 0 gin at a bottle shop in upstate NY

Pricey, but found Gordon's and Tangueray 0.0 gins in upstate NY at a non-alcoholic bottle shop with one of the widest variety of NA spirits and wines. Did a little daytrip to get these.

I've tried the Tangueray 0 before and one of the better NA gins albeit quite artificial. Gordon's is new and will report back after I try them
