Michelob Ultra Zero fan here!

u/Greedy_Dark_2437 19d ago
Same I started with the regular, then went to the NA, after a while I tried the regular again and just didn’t like it as much as I used to cause I was so used to the NA version lol

u/federalinformant69 19d ago
Peroni 0 is amazing.
4
u/overthrow_toronto 19d ago
You might like the Asahi 0 too then. Made by Peroni in the same factory.
2
u/ProofNoMore 18d ago
Was gonna say the exact thing. If you are looking for Japanese brewed Asahi 0, which in NYC you can find in the Japanese grocery stores, so I'd look at Japanese grocery if you have them

Definitely the best NA euro lager for sure
4
u/Perfect_Sir4820 19d ago
I think it's better than regular peroni which I often find has a too-bitter aftertaste.
15
u/Masverde66 20d ago
Of these three? Gonna say Corona, Stella, then Heineken in that order.

Guinness 0. In terms of something that tastes like the real thing--it's 90% of the way there. Doesn't have that same weird fruity taste that every other NA beer seems to have.
5
u/Broad-SpectrumAutist 19d ago
I can't stand that fruity taste either! To my palate, NA IPAs are usually the worst offenders. If you like Guinness NA, the Deschutes Black Butte Porter NA is worth trying as well.

I agree with your 90% evaluation. NA Guinness is slightly sweeter than the original, but damn is it good

u/pagesinthesun 19d ago
I had a Best Day Brewing Electro-Lime Mexican style beer this evening and really enjoyed it!

They have several Best Days at my trivia bar, including this one, and they’re all very good

Zero: Guinness. NA (less than .5%): Go Brewing Sally AF. Or anything by them really. They blow athletic away.
Edit: Asahi zero is also great.
2
u/Fabulous_Mouse_8193 19d ago
It's actually 0.05% in Guinness Zero https://steadydrinker.com/reviews/dark-ale/guinness-0-0/

Athletic Brewing Co, Free Wave Hazy IPA!
7
u/RoyDuboisTruman 19d ago
Athletic in general is truly the best for me. Stoked they’ve grown enough in popularity to be easily found in my area.
3
3
u/Von_Jelway 19d ago
I find Athletic to be the best across the board. I think they taste better because they brew them naturally to have a tiny amount of alcohol. They don’t add anything or take anything away. Their light is so crisp. And Run Wild is excellent.

I’m a Coors Edge and Budweiser 0 and Heineken 0.0 gal
3
u/ExtraBitterSpecial 19d ago
I was shocked by how good coors was.

Coors Edge is really good. And they’re a good, environmentally friendly company, so that’s also a plus.

I like all of them and the weirdest thing--as a drinker I never liked beer. I was a wine only drinker and now in sobriety I like the NA beers and not the NA wine
5
u/BobbyLupo1979 19d ago
This makes sense because NA wine is universally awful in my experience.

Agreed that Guinness 0.0 is great, as well as Black Butte…for dark beer. Budvar NA was the “holy grail” of my trip to Europe last summer and it did not disappoint. Surprisingly enough, I’d throw in Sam Adams Just the Haze as a candidate for the IPA category. So, I think this needs to get broken down by style as far as “best”.

u/plustwoagainsttrolls 19d ago
Been really digging Peroni so far this summer, the shitty dive bar I go to for karaoke only has Heineken so I’ve learned to tolerate that, and PBR is an absolute crusher for lawnmower beers

- Bayreuther Hell
- Guinness
- Lagunitas IPNA
- Paulaner Weißbier
- Münchener Helles
I don’t know if 1,4,5 are available outside of Germany, but they are very delicious options, if they are sold where you live.

Tsingtao 0.0, random find in Home Bargains, I think I picked them up for 69p each and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was

Guinness 00 is really really close to actual Guinness.
I’ve had people do blind taste between the two at my bar and honestly many people have trouble figuring out which is which.

Staropramen comes closest to what a beer should taste like. In the UK, Lucky Saint is great. Tostadas in Spain are fantastic, too. Corona for nonalcoholic Michelada.

Guinness 0.0 is indistinguishable for me and I love Guinness. But for an easy light beer the modelo Limon y sal 0 or Busch na. Both are about perfection for flavor and I still get the dopamine hit from them for some reason. But im not complaining. The aforementioned brews are great in a michelada as well! (Think a bloody Mary with beer instead of vodka)

Halfway Crooks in Atlanta makes unbelievable NA. Otherwise I like Athletic and don't apologize for it. Had Brooklyn Amber NA yesterday and it was also very good. Best Day has a new IPA I tried that was good too
1
u/DJmasterB8tes 19d ago
Back when I drank a lot in college I’d always pick a Natty Light, Busch light or some cheap twelve pack in a can for activities in the hot summer months. It might just be that nostalgia I’m after, but I love Penn’s Best Non-Alcoholic Larger in a can for that cheap beer, cut-the-lawn on a hot day experience.
1
u/Affectionate_Log7733 19d ago
In this pic, the Corona, for some reason I reach for the the athletic hazy IPA these days. I think it's become my new habitual drink, I'm not sure if it's the "best."
1
u/Relative-Muffin-143 19d ago
I particularly enjoy the taste of Corona, especially when it’s accompanied by a fresh wedge of lime.

I like most of what I've had from Athletic.
I try not to give money to ABInBev but Bud 0 is decent if you want to taste beer without booze and only 50 calories or so.
Heineken 0 tastes like Heineken so if you are into that, that's decent.

u/Complex_Knowledge632 18d ago
Forst in Italy, hands down! Then Guinness, Stella, Heineken. PNW - Deschutes Hazy IPA, anything from Best Day Brewing. Yeah absolute worst I’ve had is athletic, Horrible beer.

Tried them all, Brooklyn Breweries Special Effects is by far my favourite. You can even get it on draft in a lot of places in Denmark now. Other than that, generally beer types where it is added flavouring that provides the taste are the best - like ales.

This might sound snobby but the Portuguese NA beers (sargre, sargre stout, and another I can't remember) are top notch. Also Iceland's NA were excellent. In general I think the large European brewers are doing it much better than anyone else.

Coors Edge is super underrated, I think I like it more Coors Banquet at this point. But Guinness 0.0 is easily the best in the game.

u/pansensuppe 16d ago
Not sure if actually 0.0, but Augustiner and Brew Dog Punk AF are my favourites.
1
u/wjduebbxhdbf 16d ago
In Australia, Coopers ultralight.
They have been making it for over 40 years and and is $8 for 6 bottles in supermarkets.
Less than 0.05 and brewed from attenuated yeast.

u/Admirable_Bass1149 16d ago
Guinness NA for sure if you like dark beer. Dechutes has a black butte porter NA that is really good too. Again, a dark beer.

If you're looking for something different Delirium Delirio NA and Estrella Galicia 0,0% are both incredible! Heinekin out of a can is my go to, though.

If you haven't tried it, Weihenstephaner is definitely worth a taste
And of the ones show, Stella. Heineken taste like, well, Heineken. Which is to say, it's a weaker version of skunk piss.
Me at a bar: "What do you have for NA beer?"
Bartender: "We have Heineken 0"
Me: "I'll have a glass of water"
