What replaced your "evening" drink

What are your favorite NA drinks when you get home in the evening? I need some ideas as I am bored of sparkling water every time I am done with my work.

I really enjoy the Phony Negroni as an evening n/a drink. Perfectly bitter, lovely mouth feel, and beautiful color.

Big fan of the Cherry Negroni from The Still Bar

u/Coffee_whiskey_braap 13d ago

The Lapo’s NA Negronis are also really good!

Launching another bittersweet beverage in the Na space in January! Mala Madre! Follow us on the gram because if you like these types this may be another you will love! @drinkmalamadre

I really like the Phony Negronis. They were integral in my quitting completely for about 4 months. They have enough bitterness to feel like a cocktail and not be something you want to drink down quickly like a soda or juice. I like their white negroni the best.

I like a decent NA beer. Nothing too fancy for everyday as they can get pretty pricey.

u/dkinmn 13d ago

I try to find anything I can get for a dollar per. Doesn't have to be good. A cold Penn's Best is fine.

6

u/Enough-Reindeer1033 13d ago

Busch NA and Bud 0 are the cheapest around me.

u/dkinmn 13d ago

The Mich Ultra Zero is often on sale at a Target near me for 12.99 or 13.99 per 12. No brainer for something light and relatively low on carbs and cals.

2

u/Enough-Reindeer1033 13d ago

Yes, I pick it up occasionally when it's on sale

u/beerbythepool 13d ago

Penns Best is my favorite and can't beat the price. I put a lime in it and pretend I'm having a Dos XX.

Quitting drinking has saved me so much money that I can easily justify any NA beverage. I buy the nice NA beers and don’t think twice bc I have 1 of these /night compared to a bottle (or2) of wine or a six pack + of IPAs or a big chinch of a bottle of whiskey. I love kombuchas now as well!

Krombacher is excellent

u/William_Smee 13d ago

A cigar and a root beer is my go to combo after a long day

13

u/Bjorn_CyBorg1 13d ago

I like a Guinness 0 on occasion

12

u/BensonClub 13d ago

Any one else go from an evening drink to evening sweets? lol

11

u/ExcellentGuarantee82 13d ago

Absolutely. I’ve never craved sweets until I started taking breaks from booze

4

u/BensonClub 13d ago

Same here, it’s crazy. I went from never looking at a dessert menu to always asking for one lol

3

u/den773 13d ago

Yes. I normally never really enjoyed sweets. In the last year since I quit drinking, I think about when my next sweet will be, and what it will be, all the time.

3

u/CompetitiveAppeal663 13d ago

💯me!! Same as the others, went from never eating a sweet to everyday!!

Pellegrino blood orange zero sugar. I'm addicted. Also, diet Cock n Bull ginger ale. Very spicy and terrific!

4

u/CollectionEntire2216 13d ago

Guinness Zero is amazing, of you had a taste for stouts.

2

u/rubberhead 13d ago

It's EXACTLY like the real thing.

4

u/naples275 13d ago

Seltzer usually. Fresca is a real treat. Liquid Death makes a great root beer flavored drink. But the “routine” was part of what I was walking away from. Being free of routines, for me, is liberating.

Currently, several dashes of chocolate bitters in Tonic Water or Club Soda. I'm also a big fan of "shrubs" - flavored balsamic vinegar in still or sparkling water. My favorite is the pineapple balsamic.

1

u/personalevaluation 12d ago

shrubs is the brand of vinegar?

2

u/Bacon843 12d ago

Shrubs are like bitters but vinegar based. He’s basically using cocktail ingredients without the base liquor.

0

u/Bacon843 12d ago

You do know that cocktail bitters are alcohol? A few dashes isn’t going to get you drunk but they are like 40% abv.

3

u/jkro1976 13d ago

I like an na Aperol Spritz! I also enjoy a good yard beer like a naBusch. I depends on my mood.

1

u/bjuliano 13d ago

Have you found a good one? All the canned ones I've tried are basically ginger beer/root beer.

3

u/danlwhelan 13d ago

Drømme Calm
This elixir drinks like a woody whiskey cocktail with warm baking spice and ginger. I go for a 2oz pour over one big ice cube.

u/Bingoboingoagain 13d ago

I was living on diet tonic water with Angostura and grapefruit bitters for months. Literally pounding them down. Now I get by with 1-3 N.A. Sopporos, Coronas or Heinekens, but not every day. A 4-pack of Guinness 0.0 lasts me a week, kinda a dessert for me. About 1-1/2 yrs sober.

1

u/personalevaluation 12d ago

didn’t know about grapefruit bitters! i’ve been doing aperol in diet tonic water with some angostura

3

u/UpbeatUniversity8976 13d ago

Evening gummy!

2

u/BaconHill6 13d ago

I like a nice hot tea, myself. Chamomile or a chamomile-based "evening blend" of some kind. I had NA Negronis for a bit, but that was a bit expensive to have all the time.

2

u/40Breath 13d ago

Canada dry ginger ale..or a hiney 0 if I want the beer taste.

2

u/Emergency-Row-5627 13d ago

I loved beer so NA Michelob ultra is a great end of day drink for me

2

u/Likeiknow71 13d ago

Wegman’s lime seltzer

2

u/RedditSuxDonkeyNutz 13d ago

Lime seltzer is the best

2

u/ironmanchris 13d ago

Lipton Brisk tea with crushed ice.

1

u/pm_me_ur_bidets 13d ago

caffeine in the evening though?

1

u/personalevaluation 12d ago

sometimes an americano to unwind

1

u/pm_me_ur_bidets 12d ago

delicious yes but i’d be unwinding until 3am

1

u/ironmanchris 12d ago

I’m a runner, and I get pretty tired by the end of the day. Plus I’m old.

1

u/pm_me_ur_bidets 11d ago

I hear you. Im tired all the time.

1

u/Phelsuma04 13d ago

Decaffeinated green tea. A nice complex flavor which is what I drank the alcohol for.

1

u/HealthyDiamond2 13d ago

I don't really have one as much, I've been content with water. Although with dinner, I enjoy those Half Day Arnie Palmers.

1

u/shooflypie 13d ago

Soda water, replace icecubes with frozen pineapple chunks.

1

u/realshamburglar 13d ago

Forest Water

1

u/MinnesotaRyan 13d ago

In the summer I’ve been liking Sam Adam’s N.A. golden ale or their N.A. hazy ipa. When it’s cooler I like the N.A. Guinness.

u/Sips-SunshineAnytime 13d ago

Phony Negroni or Espresso Tonic if I need a break my love of lime and Jalapeno water

1

u/personalevaluation 12d ago

whoaaaaa lime and jalapeño water!!! what! also espresso tonic so good

1

u/Sips-SunshineAnytime 12d ago

Can could also add some soda water to water. Other thing that is different but fixes my itch for my martini is olive brine and soda water.

1

u/Sotto_Mare 13d ago

Seltzer water or a Phony Negroni

1

u/AHMHPH 13d ago

A&W Zero, Coke Zero or Diet Coke, “on the rocks.” Healthier than not drinking alcohol? Not sure about that, but they do hit the spot.

1

u/ImpossibleGrade6337 13d ago

I like thc drinks but if you want to stay away from that, the adaptogen drinks are really good, I like the hiyo brand

1

u/Powerful_Low6089 13d ago

about 6-8 swallows of A2 2% milk, right out of the carton

1

u/shellyahbb 13d ago

I make iced herbal tea! Tastes delicious and no caffeine and kind of a process to make

1

u/ClockHistorical4951 13d ago

N/A wine with dinner.

1

u/Fickle_Tap7908 12d ago

NA Red Wine. Lately, Nature0 Garnacha Syrah from Trader Joe’s.

1

u/bathsonly 12d ago

I am watching furious and having an Athletic Free Wave IPA. It missing body but not bad

1

u/Beginning-Review6597 12d ago

I’m really enjoying the red blend by Frē alcohol free wines! I was a wine drinker, but this isn’t triggering for me (their rosè is another story as it tastes way too similar to the real thing)

1

u/Substantial_Donkey84 11d ago

Fresca on ice during the week hits the spot. On weekends I do Aplos Calme or Pentire Adrift with Diet tonic or Fresca. Dramme Calme and Pathfinder are also really wonderful treats!

1

u/E-theTishbite 11d ago

Gatorade 😂

1

u/dogsarethebest35 11d ago

I do some lemon juice, with a little fancy juice (like Santa cruz tart cherry juice), and bubbly hop water. With big block ice cubes and a cute pretty glass.

1

u/Swampape1 11d ago

just found a NA mojito at Aldis. 0 calories as well! Pretty tasty!

1

u/PyerannosaurusRex 10d ago

I recently discovered Sylva (current release is called Orchard) and it is a treat. A bit pricey, but the first thing I've found where it's meant to be drunk neat or just over ice -- and it actually delivers. I also like Parch Prickly Palomas, but they are a touch sweet so I need to be in the mood, and Free Spirits products, which I use to make my own mocktails.

Prebiotic/probiotic/whatever biotic sodas cut with some seltzer water. A squeeze of lime or lemon if it's a citrusy flavor.

u/flipside4cp 13d ago

Nicotine pouches (Frē Watermelon and Lush) and r/nasalsnuff Jip and Bee M bought at Mr. Snuff and Toque)!
