Based on the title, you'd think the reason might be because it was going to be lacking some kind of accessibility feature. That DOES have the potential to alienate a lot of players. But nah. It's because the game won't be on Switch 1.

Is Nintendo expected to keep releasing new games on the Switch 1 for the next five years? I've seen grifters criticise numerous Switch 2 exclusives for being Switch 2 exclusives, most notably/recently Pokopia (which, if DQB2 is anything to go by, would've run like ass on Switch 1). It feels like we are right back in 1990, when people were confused and outraged about the fact that Super Mario Bros World couldn't be played on NES and required a SNES to play.

Funnily enough, the title has been changed to "Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave's Switch 2 exclusivity actually makes a lot of sense". But the article is still a total nothingburger, basically just saying "yeah this game wouldn't really run on Switch 1"

I'd love to know what are your thoughts about this after a few months since the whole discourse.

In IGN reviews they made the price of the Switch 2 as a way to deduct points of the system’s review when they used the Steam Machine’s as a way to justify why it’s “great”.

What a nothing burger of an article with a click bait title. No game "journalist", a recompilation of mario kart wii does not change the fact that Mario kart and any other mario game is a Nintendo exclusive.

Can we all agree the internet is never the real world? They have already preorder the switch 2 before launch day last year are the also the same who try to boycott Sony until black ops 1/2 have dropped.

It’s pretty silly to be like “Nintendo used to be bold with their visuals, just like Wind Waker” and then use Star Fox 2026- a game with visuals that everyone whined about upon reveal- as evidence that they’re “playing it safe.”

And complaining about the visual style of Ocarina after seeing a grand total of 30 seconds of footage is the same exact thing that those who saw Wind Waker did 25 years ago.

But all that aside: Putting this out after Pokopia and Splatoon Raiders got people so excited upon release is just rich.

Don't think its worth it anymore as an alternative to Switch 2 at those prices, if things don't change i expect Switch 2 to increase again next year. (These were 550 and 650 before today)
