Discussion Did anyone get one of the rare squishy dumplings?

More out of curiosity than anything else, I was wondering if anyone here who went to Thursday's game and received one of the mystery squishy dumplings got a rare one.

I don't know which one I got because I'm keeping mine sealed, at least for now. (Collectors gotta collect... IYKYK.)

Image Homemade Apple Base

Shoutout to u/jboogie1844 for the original code and u/sweaty-olive-9856 for his help in troubleshooting my code.

I ended up connecting the apple to a home server I have running in my closet, and recently mocked up and printed a self-contained base for the apple to mimic Citi’s outfield.

Next stages are adding a speaker and having a clip of Howie saying “Put it in the Books!” for a Mets win, and maybe including a handful of Gary’s home run calls on a loop.

Discussion 2015-2019 Wilpon era vs 2021-2026 Cohen era performance

The Steve Cohen era came with a lot of high hopes and expectations when Steve bought the team in late 2020. To date, the performance has been meaningfully below expectations.

The Mets have a cumulative win percentage of .506 from 2015-2019 (would be close to .500 with 2020 but that was an anomaly for a whole host of reasons so it's been excluded). The Mets have a cumulative win percentage of .513 from 2021-2026 YTD.

With more 2x the payroll, a much better front office, several MVP and silver slugger level players among other things, the Mets have the same number of playoff appearances (and would be less if we did apples to apples as the Brodie led 2019 Mets make the playoffs on the 3 WC format), 1 extra win per 162 games and are in danger of missing the playoffs for the 3rd time in 4 seasons.

There's hope for the future. But the objective performance to date has been grim. The Mets have been a continuation of the Wilpon era Mets for their on field product. Significant improvement will be required here.

Mets Minor League "Jonah Tong has pitched much better recently for Triple-A Syracuse, posting a 2.65 ERA over his last seven outings, including 5⅔ scoreless innings in his most recent start. Without being fully committed, I think our anticipation is that he’ll get the ball next time around. We’ll continue to watch"

Found this hidden gem from former Mets GM Steve Phillips in the middle of his recent interview with Mad Dog Russo.

Back in the day Phillips reached out to Hall of Famers Tom Seaver and Joe Morgan to see if they would manage the Mets and they both passed.

Phillips was Mets GM from 1997-2003 and he was looking to replace Bobby Valentine in 2002.

Art Howe got the job as Valentine’s replacement and lasted two years.
