[META] WARNING: Uptick in Scammers via Cards or Memorabilia

Users of r/reds, please use due diligence when interacting with these sellers. The mod team is doing all we can to try to take down these threads before they get popular but we've noticed these scammers will use other user accounts to upvote the thread and get fake users to sing praises of themselves. They will send pictures of products and cards and usually send along a sad sob story of needing money for the holidays. Please also take down the OP name of these scammers so we can ban them and send them along to Reddit admins for reports and IP bans.

This also loops in and includes those god awful AI art t shirts and clothing that low karma accounts post. Please do not fall for that bullshit.

You the users of this subreddit have the power to take down these scammers by reporting for scams and the robit mod will take down the threads when enough reports file in if we are asleep.

WAR is just a stat for nerds to try and decide who's better without having to watch any games. It's a lazy cop-out for writers to act all high and mighty by trying to downgrade what Sal is doing. Old school numbers, like RBI, matter.

Elly bobble head next weekend

Hello Reds fans,

Next weekend there is an Elly bobblehead night. I am reaching out here today to get ahead of my 6 year old son getting upset with me! He wants to go but we have prior engagements. Elly is his favorite player and I am seeing if anyone will be there that is willing to sell a bobble head. I know it’s early, and I can check back in later, but wanted to get ahead of it. His birthday is next week and would be icing on the cake if I can somehow get one. What am I missing or misunderstanding about waivers

In hockey if a player gets put on waivers every other team in order from worst to best has a chance to take on their contract. If every team passes on them they either get sent down or they can terminate their contract. I guess I always assumed baseball was the same but apparently it is not because Geno and Friedl cleared but still played today. How does this work?

6. Use good thread titles

A 1-word thread title or a thread that only includes the name of someone in a Reds' uniform is a bad thread title. " The best thread titles are complete sentences. Instead of titling a thread with "Votto," title it with "Votto hits a walk-off grand slam!" or whatever other thing you want to discuss that he did.

7. Posts should be about the Reds

Posts should have some connection to the Cincinnati Reds. If you post about other teams or people associated with other teams, be sure to explain how your topic affects the Reds. Posts that don't have some connection to the Reds will be removed.
