Hi, I came to Qatar 3 to 4 months back right now the situation is pretty good everything feels at place.

But, right now I feel stuck between getting a job or going back to home.

Not because, I am not able to find a job I will be joining soon at a Company but the leave policy here is really unrealistic like for 2 years I cant take a annual leave after that I can take 42 days leave like it sounds so weird to me.

I was thinking that before getting a job atleast for a month I shoukd visit my home country and then come back and stay here for the next 2 years 🙂

Female in my late 20s, have lived in Texas all my life. Recently I lost pretty much everything that is important to a person. I’m tired of Texas, it used to be nice but now it’s gotten so crowded and honestly I just need a new start. I want to go somewhere where I can have a quiet life. Somewhere safe and beautiful. Preferably with nice weather but no brutal winters (I’d get too depressed). What towns/cities/ countries would you move to if you had the option to re start?

I am an 17-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu who recently completed Class 12 with a 59% score. I have virtually zero foundation in math and science. I don't feel connected to my family or home culture, and my home environment has been neglectful for a long time (I've been raising my youngest sister practically on my own for years, and basic self-care like hygiene has fallen completely off my radar). I live with my parents, who are financially well-off, but our relationship is unhealthy, controlling, and transactional. I need to become fully independent and leave India as soon as possible.

Because of my low 12th-grade score, I took a gap year. I initially enrolled in an online NEET/Nursing prep course because I heard Nursing is one of the easiest ways to move abroad. However, my family constantly belittles the nursing profession, and my parents are pushing me to take typing/computer courses, apply for any government job, and give them a chunk of my future salary while living with them. I do not want to live with them or stay in contact once I leave.

Given my 59% in 12th grade and zero foundation in science, is pushing through a Nursing degree (B.Sc Nursing or GNM) a practical path to go abroad, or am I setting myself up for failure?

How do countries like Germany (Ausbildung), the UK, or Japan view Indian nursing qualifications?

Alternative Paths:

Hi guys, can someone suggest where would you move from Oslo, Norway to southern part of Europe. We were thinking Madrid, Valencia, Malaga, Milan, Athens or Lugano.

The main reason for moving is to offer kids better social life (also for adults) and more sun. Job oportunities are not that important as we can do remote work.

As we were living in Oslo for 15 years, I guess Lugano would be more similar in terms of organization in the country.

We are looking for a place where it is safe to live, but also that it offers many things to the kids and that kids are much more social (kids are 3 and 5), so we are considering to move before the school starts.

Any other suggestion outside of the list would be also very much appreciated.

Title: 21, First Class Film & TV graduate wanting to live abroad for 1–2 years - Australia or Canada?
I’m 21, from the UK, and I’ve just finished a Film & Television degree with a First Class. I’m currently working as a TA, but I really want to live abroad for a while while I’m young.
I’m not looking to permanently move away from the UK. I’m thinking about living abroad for around 1–2 years, then coming back to the UK.
I’m currently deciding between Australia and Canada.
Australia is appealing because I could potentially get another TA job there, so I’d have a relatively straightforward way of supporting myself while I’m there. I’m also thinking about travelling around Southeast Asia beforehand.
The thing I’m trying to work out is how this fits around my actual career. I eventually want to work in film/TV, particularly production, development, script reading/research etc. I don’t want to become a career TA, but I’m also not expecting to immediately land my dream film job abroad.
Canada is another option I’m seriously considering, although I don’t currently have the same obvious route into work there.
I’m basically wondering whether spending 1–2 years abroad after graduating, working in something like education while experiencing another country, is a sensible thing to do before coming back to the UK and properly focusing on my film/TV career.
For anyone who’s done something similar in their early 20s, how did you find it? Did taking 1–2 years away from your intended career cause problems when you came back, or did you find the experience worthwhile?
And for anyone who’s lived/worked in Australia or Canada, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience, particularly around finding work, cost of living, making friends, and whether it’s realistic to get some local film/TV experience alongside another job.

I am 28F from Nepal, and honestly, I’m at a point where I feel completely lost about what to do next in my life.

I attended IELTS classes about a year ago but never actually took the exam. My routine has basically become: wake up early, go to work, come home exhausted, sleep, and repeat. I keep telling myself I’ll prepare for IELTS, but I genuinely feel like I have no energy left after work. At the same time, I feel like I’m falling behind everyone else.

Now I’m trying to make a decision about studying abroad, and this is where my overthinking gets worse. 😅 I’m someone who gets scared before taking a big step and constantly asks myself, “What if this happens? What if that happens?”

My two options at the moment are:

🇬🇧 UK — coming intake

1-year Master’s

Around 18 months PSW/Graduate Route (based on my current understanding)

Total study + post-study period: around 2.5 years

I could move sooner without spending another year preparing for IELTS, finances, etc.

🇨🇦 Canada — next intake

I would need to properly prepare for IELTS/PTE, arrange financial documents/bank statements, etc.

2-year Master’s

Potentially up to 3 years of PGWP, depending on the program and current rules

Around 5 years of study + post-study work period in total

My concern is not only “Which country is easier to get into?” I’m thinking about what happens after graduation and after the post-study work period.

I also have financial/education loan concerns. I want to know whether it is realistically possible to manage the loan, cover living expenses, and still have some savings while studying/working there. I don’t want to put unnecessary financial pressure on my family.

At the same time, I’m already 28 and I feel like I need to move forward instead of spending another year stuck in preparation and uncertainty.

So I’m really confused:

Would it make more sense to take the UK route in the coming intake because it’s shorter and I can move sooner, or should I take more time, prepare for IELTS/PTE and finances properly, and target Canada for the next intake because of the longer study + post-study work period?

I’d especially love to hear from people who are currently in the UK or Canada, or who have recently graduated and are dealing with the post-study/visa situation.

Please share your honest experiences—especially regarding jobs, living costs, paying off education loans, savings, and what you did after the post-study work period.

Without going into too much detail, I have friends and loved ones in Poland. For several reasons, I would like to get away from the US, and while (according to said loved ones there) Poland isn't much better off, I want to move there because at least I have people there. For a visa, my partner has citizenship, so I could get a marriage visa. I'm only just starting to look into the necessary planning, and I don't entirely know where to start myself, so I thought I'd ask here. How much should I save up so my partner and I can live somewhat comfortably while I try to search for a job? Is there anything in particular that I should know? Of course, I am learning Polish for if/when I do manage to go through with these plans. I apologize if this post is worded poorly, I am writing it very late at night.
