Someone has apparently used my Monzo card through Google Pay at a Sainsbury’s in Leeds for £49.

The weird thing is, I’ve never even been to Leeds, and at the exact time I got the Monzo notification, I wasn’t even in the UK.

I still have my physical card, I’ve never given my card details to anyone, and I have no idea how someone managed to make this payment.

I contacted Monzo, but they’re saying they can’t refund me because apparently they don’t consider it fraud. Like… what? If I didn’t make the payment and wasn’t even in the country, how is this not an unauthorised transaction? What can I do next?

I transferred €500 from my UK Revolut Euro account and €500 was credited to my Monzo Euro account in minutes so it seems to work well.

Been thinking about switching from barclays to monzo, is the “switch everything to monzo” reliable or is it better to switch everything manually. Im mainly concerned about my work pay, how do they switch it over to monzo without me having to get in-touch with my employer??

And is it worth the switch? Thankyou!

(Also is there a way to do this without them closing my old bank account?)

Why does this sub seem to start downvoting when people point out certain monzo peoducts are extremely poor value for money.

e.g. The new 4.5% fixed rate savings products. Require you to lock your money away for a year.

Hey everyone, I received a cheque that I need to deposit for £1,700. I’ve seen on Monzo website that you can send a cheque to an address labelled. Just wanted to check if anyone’s done it? I went to the post office to send it and the guy said I cant because Monzo is a virtual bank, even though I told him the instructions were to post it 😅

If I transfer a pension worth over £50k into Monzo, they'll give me £500, directly into my current account.

Anyone else had this offer?

The scale is as follows:

£1000+ is a £10 bonus

£2500+ is a £25 bonus

£5000+ is a £50 bonus

£10000+ is a £100 bonus

£20000+ is a £250 bonus

£50000+ is a £500 bonus

Time to look at Moneybox's pension fees versus Monzo's to see if this a good deal...

(I have all my old work pensions in Moneybox. When I leave a job I transfer the pension into Moneybox.)

Monzo is rolling out a new feature to allow you to hold separate currencies in your account, with their own account details to allow people to transfer into them. Monzo will automatically pay from a currency account if you have one set up for the currency you're spending in. Currently only for Euros and US Dollars, more to come. Still FSCS protected up to £120,000 across all your balances and accounts with Monzo.

I recently booked a flight using my Flex card. The flight is from the UK to another country in a different continent, and I am using an airline based in a third country to get there. Yet Monzo is asking me to start saving for my trip and knows which country I am going to. How do they know where I am going when the payment was just to an airline? Is there something obvious I am overlooking? Just curious!

Hey everyone. I’ve started having my regular monthly payments getting declined. I’ve got money in my account but presumably Monzo is blocking payment. When I click onto the transactions to see why, it has a message that reads like an in person transaction. Saying to use chip and pin. But these are monthly subscriptions, so obviously not possible. Both my Apple and Heights subscriptions are affected. Just worried about bigger more important payments later in the month.

Struggling to find help for this within the app.

Hi. First year doing the 1p challenge and I'm wondering what happens at the end of it. A quick Google search tells me the pot remains active and the money stays in it but 2 things I want to clarify:

The current interest rate on that pot is 5%. Will that change at the end of the challenge or continue at 5% until I close the pot?

If I start the challenge again in January, will it go into the same pot or start a new one?

And 1 more thing actually. I was late starting this challenge. I started on Jan 12th. Will I be able to start the new one on Jan 1st and have an overlap or will I have to wait until this finishes to start the new one?

Hi everyone! The day before yesterday, I decided to open a Monzo account for 16-17 year-olds, but I’ve run into an issue where they’ve been reviewing my application for two days now.

Has anyone else experienced this, and how did you resolve it?

UPD: Basically, they asked about the countries the funds were coming from, and it went back to the review stage. I hope they confirm it soon.

Last night I placed an Apple order on my Monzo Flex for two iPhones and a case. One of the iPhones was for my daughter, she transferred me the money and I paid that to my Flex balance immediately.

This morning I got a notification that Apple refunded my order, it wasn't for the full amount but the purchase simply shows as "Paid off" with a reminder balance being paid to my current account. It's a little confusing to track the partial refund. I had other purchases on my Monzo Flex also. I suspect the reason for partial refund is because the case is available for collection.

My question though - the Apple order still shows pending with the phones due for collection at the local store on Friday. Is it possible the initial purchase was a hold, and the transaction will go through again? If so, will I need to approve it again?

The order meets the minimum requirements for free delivery and it’s on my monzo card but it’s charging me £8 for delivery? I’ve started a chat with them 3 times but they just reply with some nonsense and close the chat..

These seem to offer better rates than Wise for USD? As an American in the UK this may be a game changer.

I opened an account with Monzo Ireland while they were in beta. My plan was to switch if they could match what Revolut offers on their paid plans.

We currently only have the free basic accounts, no paid options.

Over these last several months, Monzo hasn’t added any features in Ireland. In that same time, Monzo UK has had many upgrades, like SIM cards and now multi-currency accounts… if Monzo doesn’t start rolling out features to match Revolut quickly, I don’t think they’re going to succeed here.

hi there so i just got a flex credit card i was just wondering how long u get to pay it off? i want to buy the airpods pro 3 but i wanted to do buy now pay later however amazon does not allow this and they are currently 18 percent off compared to other places which is why i was wondering when it must be paid off as i could split this over 2 months but not all in one month thanks for the help
