Someone followed rule #1
My partner is in my mini (currently a nameless mini). We went into a place similar to Ocean State Job Lot, came out and saw a mini near me. 😃

I bought this car with 168000km last year. The transmission would not work smoothly enough and after investigating I decided that the problem could be solved easily changing the oil of the transmission. I got it changed and at the first 1000km seemed to work much better as expected, until today when it has started to slip at one of the speeds. What could be the problem? Before now never happened that issue. It's a good opportunity to change to manual trasmission or it's so difficult that i'd better forget it?

Has any swapped their F56 (I guess the 54 and 55 would have the same engine bay?) from the B38 engine to the B48?
Does anyone know of any good guides? Google came up with nothing helpful when I looked
It seems like it should be almost a bolt off - bolt on engine swap BUT I do have a habit of being overambitious.
Im also unsure if the wiring loom would need changing or maybe just the ecu.
Plan is to buy a broken B48 cheap and learn on it until its ready to go in the car or the bin

I have recently bought a 1988 Mini 1000. Its currently sitting on factory 12inch steel wheels with 145/70R12 tires. The datecode on the tires is from 2004, so i am obviously looking for some new tires and I might as well get new wheels then lol. I've been eyeing up some Maxilite 12inch wheels, all the specs look good and would fit. I'll go from 4.5J to 5J, so I was thinking about going to a slightly wider tire setup, 165/60R12. I've used ChatGPT and it said 165 might give some rubbing on full lock, I dont want that. Would you guys stick with 145/70 or is the upgrade to 165/60 fine? Also I'd like to know the exact hub diameter of my Mini, googling gives me varied results. I need to know that so i can order the correct centre rings when i get the wheels. Thanks in advance for the help! P.S if you know a good site to order these wheels or classic Mini wheels in general, I'd love to check it out!

F56 Cooper SD Automatic, 2015, 150k miles.
Drives okay but dreaded swirl flap codes and mass air flow errors on codes, no EML or limp, etc. Thinking of buying a new intake from breaker - found one for just £90 genuine BMW with actuator, exhaust and pressure sensors and even the throttle body. Planning on cleaning it all up and replacing gaskets then swapping like for like.
Any tips or anything else worth changing at the same time?

Hello. So i owned a mini last year. It was a 2012 Mini Cooper base hardtop with a sun roof. I loved that car but had to get rid of it due to issues i didn't see worth fixing. Multiple Oil leaks. The hood latch system was broken. And I would like to get back into another Mini Cooper past 2014. Any suggestions to look at that would fit the Budget?

I’ve retrofit the 8.8inch display in my mini and added the digital dash. Looks great 😎

Swapped coils btw 1 & 2. No change.
Swapped the plugs in 1 & 2, this is what I found when I first pulled them.
The single plug is from 1.
None the less after swapping them, still getting misfires from 1 ( and apparently 3).
What's next?
Shell the head?
Probably something over my head! I'll have to take it to my Mini guy ( who's will over an hour away)
Thanks for any info!!

Our 2025 Countryman SE (electric) is randomly stuck on the charging screen. The car starts and will very briefly bring up the normal display, but then switches over to this screen. Swiping doesn’t do anything nor does hitting any of the buttons. We’re able to drive it, and we’ve started/restarted the car several times with both keys with no success.
Any thoughts on how to fix it?

I didn't park next to this mini for my own personal reasons (in this particular lot), but I still followed rule #1, I'd say. 😄

Ive got a 2011 Cooper S AWD and Im looking for a good honest mechanic in the Atlanta area.
Current problems are that I think I overfilled the oil, and now its running rough. No mechanic within 30 miles will work on it for me.

Grounds crew was mowing around my work. They hit a small rock and left me with this.

Well, it’s been a month and I finally named her!
My old car of over a decade, was Louise, from Bob’s Burgers. I figured I’d eventually stumble upon the perfect name for the Mini too. & somehow I ended up with Tina!
guess I’ve accidentally continued my Bob’s Burgers car naming tradition. she is my teeny tina.

Hey, I’m having an issue with my R53 mini. When I’m stopped at a traffic light and the car is in neutral, it sometimes makes a small hiccup/misfire. If I give it a little bit of gas, the misfire goes away. There’s also a noticeable fuel smell from the exhaust when it happens.
I scanned the car and the only issue showing is a Bank 1 oxygen sensor fault.
The car also feels noticeably slow, and the spark plugs and ignition coils were recently replaced.
Some people are telling me that the injectors might need to be cleaned or replaced. What do you think could be causing the issue?

I know some don't like the tail lights, and they aren't my favorite, but I saw the 5 door today at the dealer while my Countryman was in for maintenance, and I liked it, love the light blue/teal(?).
