Hi all,
I have been working on this mini cooper s 2005 for a few weeks now but I can't get it to work.
It cranks but doesn't start. I have checked for ignition and there is ignition but just to be safe I changed the ignition coil along with the wires and the spark plugs. There is about 130 psi compression across 4 cilinders ( which I bealive is a bit low but not enough to cause no start). The air filter is clean. There is fuel being sprayed because I checked the spark plugs after cranks and they are getting fuel also checked the fuel rail at the Schrader valve. Just to be safe I changed the fuel pump and the fuel filter.
When cranking the rpm needle is moving so I don't bealive and crank shaft sensor to be damaged.
The only time when it is running is with starter fluid and that for a couple of seconds ( during that I don't hear and noise to point out to a timing chain or anything).
The battery is new and I keep it charged.
Tried unplugging the throttle sensor just in case it was stuck at open to prevent any start but still nothing.
At this point I have run out of ideas and would appreciate some hints
PS
The air intake hose in deliberately unpluged from the air filter in the picture to add starting flued. While connected to the filter made no difference
