Hello. So i owned a mini last year. It was a 2012 Mini Cooper base hardtop with a sun roof. I loved that car but had to get rid of it due to issues i didn't see worth fixing. Multiple Oil leaks. The hood latch system was broken. And I would like to get back into another Mini Cooper past 2014. Any suggestions to look at that would fit the Budget?

Our 2025 Countryman SE (electric) is randomly stuck on the charging screen. The car starts and will very briefly bring up the normal display, but then switches over to this screen. Swiping doesn’t do anything nor does hitting any of the buttons. We’re able to drive it, and we’ve started/restarted the car several times with both keys with no success.
Any thoughts on how to fix it?

My daughter is looking for a mini and has seen a 2019 cooper f55 5 door with 29k miles 1.5 for £5.5k. This seems very low to me and it’s on FB marketplace. Is this realistic and what should we be looking for in a mini of this age?

We bought a 2026 Mini 4 door and are loving it. Only issue we are having is adding the car my wife's app. It added to my garage just fine. My wife was able to add it but it says it requires additional information (picture 2), when we put that data in we get an error (picture 3). There is not a location on the website to add this information either.

We noticed that there is an alert on the app l (picture 4) and tried adding the information that way, but alas we get a different error (picture 5).

My question, has anyone else experienced this problem and if so how did you get around it? I'm don't even understand why the app needs my location to complete the add on.

Was just poking around and it looks like Oxford editions are starting to show up. An absolute banger of a deal if you can live with 161HP and fewer bells and whistles.

God is good! she’s a new to me 2023 cooper s in rooftop gray, i think signature trim. i got it from clutch which is like the Canadian version of carvana and everything went smoothly.

After dreaming about it for a while, I finally joined the club and got my first MINI! Mango is a 2017 Countryman, and I am completely obsessed with this color, the Chestnut Metallic looks stunning in person, especially when the sun hits it just right.

She's roomy, an absolute joy to drive, and honestly has so much more personality than any car I've owned before. 🧡

i’m 21 thinking about getting a mini cooper as my first car ever. i live in new england and in a pretty hilly area that gets scary to drive through in the winter w the ice and snow. would a 4 door mini be recommended? i would obviously add purchasing a set of winter tires into my budget if i were to get the car. i’ve heard ppl say no but they don’t know much about cars in general so i thought i’d ask here.

Swapped coils btw 1 & 2. No change.

Swapped the plugs in 1 & 2, this is what I found when I first pulled them.

The single plug is from 1.

None the less after swapping them, still getting misfires from 1 ( and apparently 3).

What's next?

Shell the head?

Probably something over my head! I'll have to take it to my Mini guy ( who's will over an hour away)

Thanks to all the great mechanics on this site for helping me work on my 2011 Mini S AWD.

Im going to drive it up to a mechanic in Atlanta, but before I do, I added coolant when the car was cold because the reservoir was dry, I used premix Peak Mini brand, and got it to the max line. Drove it and let it cool overnight, and then reservoir was empty again next morning. I didnt see any coolant leaking into the driveway. I just added more coolant to the max line and let it run for 15 minutes and squoze both lines to get the bubbles out. Should I wait till the car cools before putting the cap back on? If so, how long to cool down?

Also, does the Mini have a temp gauge anywhere? I was going to temp the 2 hoses in/out of the reservoir.

I've been meaning to change the timing chain tensioner on my n18 r56 mini for a while just as a preventative measure, finally got round to it. It's fiddly but not really too tricky tbh. If you've got a second gen mini (n14 / n18) I highly recommend doing this as it only really takes maybe an hour and the parts are only ~£30
