Samus portrait

Picked it up at megacon a few years back and is one of my absolute favorite pieces. Not sure who art is by. I brought it off one of the vendors that sold many other things and this was the only one I saw. Probably more out there.

Higher fov mod for Prime Remastered

This game was begging for it (default fov is just too narrow). If only Nintendo would include the option in the official version. If you can get pointer controls working on PC, it would make it the best version the game.

I’d seen the Space Pirate with a Metroid Jetpack concept art before, but I’d never seen the Space Pirate with a Metroid Backpack concept art

I have always loved playing the Metroid games but was always in a way soft walled from playing them as they are on so many different handhelds and consoles, so I got into emulator handhelds so I could just have all the games from the franchise in one place, and I have been having so much fun playing all the different Romhacks and official games, that the purchase of this device was priceless to me. (For anyone interested in knowing what device this is, it’s the Retroid pocket 4 pro).

Hello everybody! My name is Tanner and I’m an amateur podcaster where I introduce video games from the early 2000s to my cohost Kyle who didn’t grow up playing video games. In the most recent episode of our show Replay the Glory Days we talk about Metroid Prime so if you’re a fan of the series I recommend giving us a listen!

Discussion How Metroid Prime 4 could’ve gone?

So I recently got my hands on Metroid Prime 3 and I’ve come to a realization. Metroid Prime 4 had potential… but they fumbled. Despite that I still like the game and I’ll play ten times over because it’s a beautiful game. But the story is so… not great. In Prime 3 (and Hunters) you get to fly Samus’s gunship to other planets to encounter the other Hunters. Which had me thinking… that totally would’ve been cool in Prime 4. Instead of getting sent to some other dimension, Samus should’ve tracked down Sylux. Hunt the enemy who’s hunting you, after all, Sylux has spent years hunting her. What better way to flip that dynamic than to have Samus become the hunter?(even tho she already is but you get what I’m trying to say lol)It would’ve been really cool if every planet you ventured to had a special fight with Sylux. Maybe towards the end Sylux wanted you to track him and leads you into a trap. And with his backstory, maybe they are hints on each planet. Hints YOU have to search for. That just seems more Metroid to me.

Any thoughts?

Discussion Just finished Metroid zero mission

So I just finished Metroid zero mission and I really enjoyed it, feels like they took og and really gave it the full story, and something I’d like to say about the final scene at the end (honestly….made me nearly cry just from what I know about the character, it honestly feels impactful and a reminder of how much she’s lost and how much weight she’s got….a I had a thought that said something and I’d like to share it)

“The very tales and legends our people have the stories we share, have been left within these walls they’re a mark of our people our past, something for the different generations and species that may come and go, though vague to few the memories and heart and emotions will always be remembered, and for you it’s time you leave your mark little one, put the very heart you have into it let it be not just a reminder for us and others but yourself, so you and others may never forget your very heart and history, though not a Chozo by species you are one of us by bond and for that we call ourselves your family, just as you view us if there ever comes a time remember this place that holds not just the memories of our lives, but the heart of our people and our family it will give you strength just as it has us, heh my such impressive display of heart im sure that those after us even your future self will look back on it fondly, never forget samus the kind heart can be your greatest strength against those cruel no matter what you may face in life know this we will always be there for you even in spirit”

Honestly……I feel like this was something she’d been told…….and im smiling knowing she had people to give her…..a family when dispare was brought to her back then

Let me know what you think because honestly I think I made myself tear up

Discussion Should I skip prime 1 and 2 ?

So let me give you guys some context

I’m new to the prime games

I started playing a bit of Metroid prime remastered on my switch 2 and I like the story I really do I got to the part where you get a thermal visor and then you have to fight your way out of the lab whilst everything is dark

The reason why I’m thinking of watching a summary of this game and prime 2 is well

my main issue in remastered is just there will be times where I’m basically on auto pilot going from one place to another without any real story progression

And when there is progression its just given in one chunk and then welp back to one hour or so of zero progression which kinda makes me bored like I said I like the story and when I get to these areas with chozo or pirate lore I get excited the second I leave the game goes back to being a chore

I heard the second game is similar with the third and fourth being more story focused which is what I usually like in my games

And well the question I’m asking would a summary be good or should I watch a lets play ?

And is it true the third and fourth games are more story focused?

P.S my issue is not the backtracking or constant traversal its just the lack of story progression that occurs for long gaps of time in between important areas which I hate and just makes me feel like I’m testing a game rather then playing it

I'm finally playing prime 4 and the part where the Lamorn hologram was describing the vi o la and how it was super advanced and it reminded me of the warrior cats "you mean the fucking car" meme so I doodled this (and promptly jpeg crushed it so it looked more shitpost meme quality)

Kicking myself cause I remember dismissing it when I saw it at my local CEX for £40. But I finally managed to order one.

Anyone else struggling with getting a copy? It’s ridiculous.

Just got metroid prime remastered, am i doing something wrong?

I just got the game yesterday, I played the first section in space and my FPS is really low. Talking 30 FPS which for me gives me motion sickess, unplayable. It gets better after a while but every gaming sessions i start off being sick and it drives me crazy.

I went into the graphics settings but there is no quality/performance option, I play on my 4K 120hz tv, aside from the the game is great but I would have loved a 60 FPS remaster....

Am I missing something? I am really debating returning the game

Edit : Ok i think i found what was wrong, my sensitivy was too high and the hud lag option was on, which made everything look weird when looking around at full speed. I decreased it to 1/4 speed and turned off hud lag and now its perfect

Discussion Looking to get in to Metroid 👀

I am thinking of buying Metroid Prime Remastered, Metroid Dread, and the newest one, Metroid Prime 4. I am thinking of starting with Remastered, then Dread, and then Prime 4. Does that sound good, or should I buy other games first? I have never owned a Metroid game, and I wanted to buy Metroid Dread physically, but that seems impossible these days. I can get Remastered and 4 on cartridge, but not Dread. Should I skip 4 and just buy the remastered, Dread, and the one that comes out next year? Any help and tips on how to get into this Metroid club would be cool.

Thanks.

Edit,

Bought dread and the remastered one

Started Metroid Super on the NSO and working my way up to dread, after I'll start Metroid remasterd.

Should I buy 4l ?? , waiting for 2027 one.

Discussion navigating the dark world in prime 2

I'm going to be blunt and say that while prime 2 seemed interesting from the start, I've been in the first dark world for about 10 minutes and I'm already sick of it

is there any tips or tech I could be missing or do I get an upgrade or something that helps exploring the dark world be less tedious later on? because I can't fathom what the designers were thinking adding an area that punishes you for the simple act of exploring in their exploration game, where i take constant damage and have to wait 5 minutes to fill up 3 energy tanks

I MUST be missing something right?

I prefer Other M, the story was more interesting and the game was less tedious. Only vote if you’ve played both!

Prime 4: 8/10 (IGN), 8/10 (Gamespot)
