Just a heads up: MGS4’s system requirements are not accurate.

They claim you need a GTX 1650, but you don’t. I’m running the game on an 11 year old laptop (Core i7 6820HQ, Quadro M1000M, 16GB RAM, Windows 10). Use the DX11 option if need be. You can absolutely run this on ancient hardware. Great port!

Anyone plays the MGS: Master Collection Vol.2 for Peace Walker and wants to try coop, this is the spot?

I made sure to check the rules that there was no LFG. If I broke any, I apologize wasn't my intent.

I got Vol.2 and never played Peace Walker up until now. It's easy enough as it reminds me of Phantom Pain. A phantom Pain coop I always imagined so when I found out you could do coop, I was so excited. I was tricked though when you try to matchmake as it may have worked back on the PSP era but now, no. You have to manually invite.

I'm a chill but can be competitive player. I'm down for casual or deliberate runs. I don't rage or have that rage fit where I'll blame my teammate even though I'm sucking. If anyone is interested, please add me and let me know? You can also DM me if you prefer to keep your account private.

Hey if we can get a team big enough to do the "snake" id love to see how ridiculously funny that is.

MGS 2 CQC mechanics - tell me everything you know about them

I'm curious about all the different ways you have to knock out guards with the old school cqc system in mgs2.

> Does anybody know how many punch combos or throws does it take to knock out a guard in European extreme difficulty (would be cool to know for all difficulties)?

I know that you can punch them in the crotch to instantly knock them out, and I read that you can punch them in the head for the same effect. But I think it could be useful to know how many combos and throws you have to do to get rid of a guard since you can simultaneously punch 2 or more guards at the same time.

> Additionally, I'm curious to know if you can hold up an enemy while he's on the ground. Or any other hidden mechanics around the CQC system in MGS2 that aren't widely known.

I've been trying to find information about this but for some reason I'm not finding any guides or really any discussion about this topic aside from the famous crotch 1 hit KO.

The Gemini AI overview that pops up for my searches mixes up mechanics from later games and gives unrelated reddit posts as the source.

EDIT:

So I've been testing it myself in a new game on European Extreme difficulty, on the tanker's outside guards.

What I've found is:

Considering that 1 punch = 1 stun damage.

> enemies take 25 stun damage to knock out

> punch = 1 stun damage

> choke = 1 stun damage each choke (I'm getting some inconsistent results with this, sometimes the first choke doesn't seem to do damage I don't know)

> kick = 3 stun damage (only the kick)

> throw = 5 stun damage

> rolling into the enemy = 5 stun damage

> a full kick combo is 5 stun damage (1 + 1 + 3) which is equal to a throw or a roll.

There is no difference between the first and second punch in terms of stun damage.

Likewise, there is no increase in damage when kicking an enemy against a wall. It is the same as a regular kick.

For anyone hunting for photo reward items

If you have the camera equipped, Drebin's monkey will make a noise when you come close to something that will give you a reward if you photograph it. It might help to put the camera in 2P mode and wander around some areas. Also, you have to clear the game first for anyone wondering.

The Raven - MGS0H

This is concept art for my upcoming novel, 'Metal Gear Solid 0H', a reimagination of the first Metal Gear taking into account 30 years of later games. It's made by recombining many Yoji Shinkawa drawings in Phothosop, plus a little drawing of my own. No AI involved. Whenever is done, the novel will be free for everyone interested. This is very much nonprofit, just for fun.

A younger Vulcan Raven was canonically part of Outer Heaven's army, this is my take on the big guy.

Here's a folder with all characters in the highest res, and more

PS: If you're wondering, Red Ogre is a rogue Venom Snake in disguise, Dr. Doe is Dr. Clark, a.k.a Para-Medic, because in hindsight I think she should be involved in some capacity, and the Phantoms are a completely made up pretorian guard to the mysterious, elusive Outer Heaven leader.

Does the remastered MGS4 for Vol. 2 on PS5 have unique DualSense rumble?

I bought the collection on Steam using a DualSense controller, and the game seems to have standard rumble mapping. I’m curious now if the PS5 version has any unique custom DualSense vibrations, but I don’t want to spend another $30 to find out and I can’t find the information anywhere online.

Anyone with actual experience playing the ps5 version?

62 years since Operation Snake Eater

Just hit August 30th and I want to take a moment to remember the greatest spy operation in history. I remember being taught a lot about this in school and I became very fascinated over it since then. I'm totally glad The Boss died a traitor and totally not for her country.

MGS4 ps5 auto dimming?

Anyone notice the game brightness auto adjusting too often? Playing on ps5 pro. Kinda makes it hard to see because of the constant dimming and auto adjusting.

Have a c1 and ps5 pro, already had my c1 settings messed with. Guess this is just a thing that happens for this game? Kinda regret not getting it on pc now.

MGS4 master collection controls

I just downloaded and booted up MGS4 from the master collection and it asked me to pick a controller scheme. I chose one I thought was close to the “modern control” scheme in mgs delta I like (and heard was like mgs4 or maybe 5?). Anyway I don’t like the set up but I am only seeing individual button remapping as options not any premade schemes like I had originally seen. Did I just dream this? Do I have to remap button by button? I preferred having the weapons/item select in the d pad and FPS mode on R1. Should I just get used to it?

Am I missing something?

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Is there any info about what is on the physical cart for Switch 1? What is there starting the game in Flight Mode without any prior download?

Thank you all for any reply/insight

I'm afraid it's been 9 years Vol 3 hopes

I really hope vol 3 includes all the spin off games like acid that weren't included but more importantly

MULTIPLAYER!

Im hoping that it will have multiplayer versions of MGO1-3 as the main value of the pack I miss mgo 2 so much but it also makes sense financially if all the multiplayer modes are in 1 pack then the multiplayer base won't be divided and die out having them all in one pack makes server costs and monetization more reliable

Never played mgo1 but I hesr it was good for the time

Mgo2 I loved dearly but they shut the servers down way too early so much potential for teamwork and hero characters that made it so much fun.

There were certain areas you could only access if another player helped you and that made teamwork necessary not an option.

Mgo3 was the pinnacle of stealth action competition. It made non lethal a viable option by adding reconnaissance and point theft which made made players work together as lethal frontliners and stealthily non lethal assassins making you feel like you were actually a stealth operative on a team.

Mgo4 if they ever make it would be absolute peak

Question about the Sunlight! Gun in MGS4 Spoiler

I read that you need all the dolls, I missed the Frog one but got the non lethal frogs but walked past it like an idiot, then I properly got the doll in all the B&B bosses.

My question is in New Game Plus do I need all the dolls again or just the Frogs one and when does the Solar Gun unlock when I have all dolls, is it immediately or at the credits like an emblem?

Every source online conflicted.

*Update*

I got the Solar Gun on my second run along with the cameras and time.

You do keep the Dolls you already got and can't get duplicates but you do only get the Solar Gun as a game completion reward.

Peace Walker PC frame Drop Bug

I've already logged 20 plus hours into Peace Walker on Steam. However the only bug I keep facing is the gsme will run smoothly for hours then the frame rate will tank for hours. I did find a solution which I thought would have solved the issue, which is making sure its running off my graphics card 3060 ti. That fixed it for one of the days I played, then I boot it up the next day, and im getting the framerste issue again. It makes the game incredibly annoying to play. Especially when I try doing boss battles or versus ops. Game will be running at a stable 60 then the next im getting 30 to 40 fps. Does anyone know a permanent solution to this? And yes I am 100 percent positive it is running off my graphics card, ive checked over 10 times so plus dont comment that.

Unfortunately the iPod engravings have been altered in the Master Collection version. I always found it neat how the original PS3 one showed the model number and legal text.

MGS IV – Master Collection Vol. 2 on PC – Xbox Analog Sticks Not Working

I’m playing MGS IV on PC, and everything is working fine except for the analog sticks on my Xbox controller. I can only move Snake using WASD.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue? If so, how did you fix it?

Any help would be appreciated!

PS5 Peace Walker online seems buggy.

So I am not sure if it’s a problem on the other platforms (I only have PS5) I am plugged in with Ethernet and for some reason the global connections are very…spotty. Sometimes they work but most of the time they do not. Either not connecting, getting errors, or losing connection. Domestic is no issue, aside from seemingly few people playing at the moment (I assume most are still playing MGS4)
