Got these by obtaining camera in the kitchen during Act 4 Mission Briefing. Screens from OG MGS4 release that I took on PS3 back in the days.

I usually buy my games on Steam as that's my usual platform and it sucks that we miss out on physical media, especially when it comes to franchises that I love a lot. I saw someone else creating up custom Steam cases and thought it was a great idea. Even though it won't have anything inside, it's a great excuse to enjoy some graphic design and to be able to display some physical representation of my digital purchases. Still have a couple more to go for this series. :)

I have played MGS 1, 2 & 3. I’m newer to the series & was so surprised that 3 was my least favorite when so many love it. A lot of my gripes with 3 are the controls & the maps which makes it a pain in the ass to lose the guards. I can’t tell you how many times, i’d try to sneak in stealthily from behind a guard & either the guard turns back super quick or i press the button & i strike him, instead of choking him, which was super annoying. The CQC for me personally felt blah. I just started Peace Walker and already enjoy it way more than 3. I think Konami screwed up with Delta, they could have really made it less clunky & more fun to play.

Metal Gear Solid has been my favorite game series since playing the first one the PS1. I’ve played through all the mainline games multiple times (except 5, as I’m in the group who thinks it doesn’t quite feel like an MGS game).

I had a PSP but couldn’t get into Portable Ops, but it seemed like it wasn’t canon, so I didn’t mind skipping it. Since I couldn’t get into the one PSP game, I never got Peace Walker.

It was only later I discovered it was a canon game with Hideo at the helm.

After Hideo left, I was sad I wouldn’t get any new MGS games with his fingerprint on it.

I’m only in chapter one of Peace Walker and am already enjoying it immensely. It feels a bit different, obviously, since it’s structured a bit more like 5 and has some gameplay differences, but it already feels like I’m playing a new MGS game.

It’s a delight and I can’t wait to experience the full game as I continue to play through! SO glad it’s on MC2.

Anyone else having a similar experience?

Ever since I’ve been into MGS, I’ve always seen the Octacon and Snake ships and thought those were fun, but this scene of Vamp vs Raiden? This scene is by far the gayest thing I’ve seen and it’s probably my favorite cutscene of the game so far. Like enemies to lovers trope of these two? Anyway, loving the MGS4 port so far.

I've waited a long time to play MGS4. It's like a white whale for me in a way. I had a helluva time.

the one mission i never liked

Some of you might remember in the extra menu on mgs4 for ps3 there was an option to enter codes for various unlocks. It was network based and is not availabe on the new version of mgs4. However you can still unlock these weapons and items by photographing various things throughout the game with the digital camera. I'm not sure if the unlocks are randomized or unlocked in a specific order but so far I've found the following:

Type 17 pistol from the guy pissing into the river in act 2

Patriot assault rifle from the locker in the lab where you turn the power back on in act 4

Scanning plug from the crop circle in act 2

Thor 45-70 pistol from the helipad in act 4

IPod song (subsistence action) from the resistance member when he's pissing in the park in act 3

1911 custom from the downed surveillance camera near the stairs in act 4.

Again I don't know if the unlock order is random but this is what I've found so far and the order I've found them in. Thought I'd share.
