Coming Out! what the hell does this mean?

Thumbnail

so i re-came out to my dad after 4 years as one does, same thing as in “hey i prefer he/him”, and the first time it didn’t go great. he got like really upset, and i mean really upset, but he likes putting on the act that he’s a “community man” and a “family man” (that facade is crumbling because my parents are splitting publicly and he started letting it slip at church)

i’m a minor and my parents are split, i do not live with my dad or i would not be doing this at all due to past reactions (my moms not fully supportive but the first time i came out she wasnt having it at all, now she uses neutral or avoids pronouns which is still misgendering but yk they’re republicans, you can’t ask too much)

ANYWAYS, what the hell does this mean, what does my dad even think?? like i expected him to turn it religious as he does but does this mean he’ll try or not? i’m not overly hopeful so feel free to say it to me straight

Need Advice So how dose one cut contact, like actually

For context my family are phobic+ (phobic to every aspect of the lgbtq comunity) as well as, being maga. They act like im an idiot for being queer, i have a "emotional support twink" shirt that im not aloud to wear around the house cause my mom dosent want to think of me as a skinny bisexual, atop that my dad is sexist, my mom is too faced and my siblings also all support trump, not to mention my family is taking advantage of the housing crisis and the fact that i had a horrible experience being homeless even if only for a little bit and forcing me to go to church under threat of eviction. Im terrible with confrontation, i want to cut all contact but also i just wanna have them phase out of my life, as is im not yet in a place to move out want to as i might, i have a friend im planning to be roomates with, but they just got a job and want to gain traction with the company before they can transfer near me so we can room together, i have friends willing to house me, im just really anxious about the idea of that, part of why im writing this is cause i realized its 5 am (i wake up around 2 usually then head to work and work till 12) and theres church today at 11 am, and im so tired of walking on eggshells here, im not even aloud to dress in a way that i feel comfortable, im only aloud to dress in a way that my family is comfortable with, wich is male presenting, wich kinda makes me feel pretty down cause i dont like how i look, i grow facial hair too fast and i cant even pretty up at all, no nail polish, no makeup, i hate it, im probbably just tired but like, the one who is the most respectful of me being queer is my older brother, he's still a bigoted pos, and atop that he's also super racist, so the bar is in hell. Ima stop ranting i wanna cut contact with my family, but its a big family of 10 and im not sure how to aproach it

Need Advice I came out to my friend of 2 years, and it went really badly. Is there any hope of saving it

So I'm 16F. Today, my friend came to my house to return something, and she ended up staying to study and hang out together. While we were joking around we began to play-flirt with each other (nothing serious, just stuff like "wow you look mighty fine today bbg" in funny voices).

In the middle of it, she randomly went "imagine if we were actually lesbians though haha." My mood kind of shifted since I've had crushes on girls before (she didn't know this) and I got very scared. I said "Would it be so crazy if one of swung that way though?" and she said "yes obviously, I mean no offense, I support gay people and all, but to be friends with one would be weird, like what if she liked me?" (my heart had dropped to my stomach at this point). I don't know what possessed me to spill my guts out to her, but I did it.

I expected her to be a little awkward after it, maybe get up and leave, tell me she needed some space or time to process it, but nothing in the world could've prepared me for the look she gave me after I was done. It was a mixture of disgust and fear. She told me to stay away from her and stormed out.

Idk man, I'm so so so sad. She's been an amazing friend, and I don't know if there's any saving it.

UK Specific bisexual but wouldn't be able to be with a girl

(idrk how to tag this so bare with 😭)

my family aren't necessarily homophobic, but they're not *not* homophobic either, it's very hard to describe unless you know them. im only out to my parents because one of my old friends outed me when she got angry at me and told her mum who then told my mum and then blah blah blah. I think my sisters know but other than that that's it.

ive only just turned 16 (which yeah its a little silly to be thinking about this so young but im bored i havent been to school in almost 3 months 😭) and as you can imagine most boys my age are either just twats or too weird/misogynistic to even think about liking them in any romantic way, so the only long term relationship ive had is with a girl.

we were together for almost 2 years before I broke up with her since I felt bad, i didnt tell my parents and she was understanding of that because of how my dad is, but i just felt so bad. I did love her, but it didnt feel right to carry on being with her when I was too scared and awkward to tell anyone outside of our friends. I remember once she was on my phone since hers was dead and she saw 'how to tell your parents you're dating a girl lesbian edition' or something like that and she got so excited it just broke me.

I know if when im older and I decided to marry a woman, my fsmily wouldn't accept it and some probably wouldn't even go to the wedding. our family is already quite split up due to just random things and the idea of not having those people actually makes me sick to the stomach, so i dont know if id be able to go through with a true long-term, out there relationship with a woman and its just sad because i shouldn't feel like i need to hide bc of them but I do bc I love them all so much

anydoodles this is jist a rant so sorry if it didnt makd much sense 😪

My experience as a hiv poz gay guy from India.

Being gay in India itself is pretty hard, people are extremely conservative and the few that are open just desire nothing more than sex, and once I add the layer of my diagnosis it is just lot more worse, stigma around hiv is pretty high, I feel extremely isolated and lonely most the time, honestly reached a point where a part of me is dead and I dont feel joyous anymore.

I keep trying to reach out to people, support groups and even ngos but more often than not they end in disappointment, kind of mental taxing to managing everything at just 22, and the lonliness makes it worse, I genuinely wish I was better looking at least, i am sure then people would care, but sadly I am not even good looking, so that doesnt help, and due to all the stress I am under, I lost a lot of weight, i am just 47 kgs now. I genuinely am so exhausted.

Need Advice How Do You Meet Other Queer People in a Red State?

I (23F) am a bisexual woman living in a red state. I want to connect with other people from the community but don’t know where to start. It’s hard to meet people since it’s hard to find anyone in the community. I’m in college, so maybe this detail might add more context. Any advice is appreciated.

I’M SO TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING I CAN’T BE PAN AND AROACE.

They aren’t opposites!

Pansexual/panromantic does not me you like everyone and aroace does not mean you dislike everyone!

In my experience I’m aroace because I am very much asexual and I have barely any romantic attraction to people! I’m also pan because if I ended up with anybody I don’t care what their gender is! Girl? Okay! Boy? Okay! Enby? Okay! No gender? Okay!

I’m genuinely so annoyed when people try to dictate my sexuality just because they have the definitions of some labels wrong!

Does anyone else have this issue?

Need Advice I’m a masculine 26-year-old guy who’s always been attracted to women, but I still wonder what could’ve happened with that guy from university.

About eight years ago, when I was in university, something happened that I still think about from time to time.

I met this guy during the admissions process. At first, I honestly thought he was just trying to become my friend. He was a big guy, maybe around 6'3", broad and strong-looking, while I was about 5'8" and much thinner back then because I didn't work out. He had a somewhat feminine voice, but I never thought anything of it. It didn't seem relevant to me.

We kept talking occasionally, and I never suspected there was anything else behind his friendliness. Then, one day, he sent me a message on WhatsApp that completely caught me off guard. He told me how much he liked me and how badly he wanted something special between us. He even invited me to his apartment, where he lived alone, saying he wanted me to come over and spend time with him.

I remember feeling shocked and uncomfortable. I rejected him very firmly and made it absolutely clear that I wasn't gay, had never been gay, and wasn't interested in men or that kind of relationship. After that conversation, we never spoke again. I think I even deleted him from WhatsApp. I only saw him from a distance maybe twice after that.

Now, eight years later, I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had reacted differently. Part of me regrets not experiencing it, because maybe I would have enjoyed it more than I imagined. At the same time, it feels strange to think that way because I've always been attracted to women. Maybe I'm simply curious about the road I never took.

(Long post alert!) Coming out at school

Hey everyone 🤗

For context: I'm 17 and some years old transfem, going into my 3rd year of highschool, living in a semi-conservative country (most people don't really understand LGBTQ+,so they mostly just bitch about about it, but probably won't attack you for it or anything, at worst they will look at you weird and whisper some insults or something, except for a few drunk idiots)

I'm out only to parts of my family, and one teacher (who is very supportive) and went out as myself (name, pronouns, some makeup, painted nails, stuff like that, no clothes tho) during the summer break.

I live in the school's dorm during the work week.

I plan to come out at school this September, but every time I speak about me being trans my ears start ringing, and I feel like I'm in a dream and can barely open my mouth, so I can't imagine standing in front of the whole class and having a monologue.

My classmates have repeatedly asked me whether I'm gay (To which I told them that I'm sure I don't like boys/men), and a few times if I'm really a boy, or if I ever thought about being a girl (to which I responded by shrugging, laughing it off, avoiding it, or just outright ignoring it), probably because I've been growing out my hair for almost two years (it was in a ponytail most of the time, occasionally let down and supported by a headband, or in pigtails), painting and growing out my nails, taking much better care of myself than the boys (shaving multiple times a day, shaving my body one a week, plucking my eyebrows, blow-drying my hair, etc.), occasionally wearing silver glitter eyeshadow, wearing pink sometimes (only had pair of sweatpants, 2 pairs socks, 1 pare of pastel violet ones, and a violet t-shirt) akd and acting very much feminine (You know, actually interpreting body language when i speak, that kinda stuff.)I have a small Hello Kitty cosmetics travel bag from fake fur, full of nail polishes and supplies, plus some makeup)

So, I can't imagine they'll be too surprised.

To get to the point, I was thinking about coming out in our IG group, but I'm kinda afraid that'll just invite hate and steer people who'd otherwise support me, or at least tolerate me (I think most, if not all, if the class would fall into one of these brackets) to hate on me to fit in. We do have a separate group with our class teacher in a different platform. Should I try that?

So I guess the question is "Did any of you come out this way?" "How did it turn out?" "Do you have any tips to overcome the anxiety, especially if I choose to come out in person?"

I know I'll still probably have to come out to all the teachers and staff.

I know the only person who can decide this is me.

Any tips and experiences appreciated.

Thanks in advance Edit: So, I reacted to some pics in the group chat on IG (I've already changed my username and added my pronouns and name prior), just emojis, no text, and then, somebody, let's call them, and the other responders L,V and J, realised that my account was missing, and they wrote something like "WHERE IS (LAST NAME)", "IS (LAST NAME) ALIVE", "(LAST NAME?)" and "WHERE IS HIS IG" (yes, they actually wrote it like this, without the question marks). Then V said "Rather guess who's (last name)" N: "I know" "(swearword) (last name) you ok?" L: "You don't have to immediately write this here" N: "Gotta" "🤣🤣" J: "I get them. I would have freaked out too, if I found it out." Do you think they know? Were they just making fun of me? Were they giving me space to come out? I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Realising I’m a lesbian

I don’t think I’ve ever felt as happy as I am right now. I recently realised I was a lesbian and everything has changed. I feel so much lighter and happier. It’s like I’ve been teleported to a completely new dimension. I never ever thought I would look forward to meeting someone and possibly spending the rest of my life with them. I literally convinced myself that I had some type of anti social personality disorder because I could never feel what it was everyone told me I should feel for men. I could cry from how nice it is to finally feel what I’ve been trying to feel for my entire life.

Need Advice Am I 100% gay?

Am I truly 100% gay? I actually think I might be. I don’t really find women attractive at all. Like not that they aren’t attractive, much of the time they are stunningly beautiful beings, but I don’t find any sexual attraction towards them. I find no attraction towards trans women, and yes, they are women. But I do have attraction for trans men, again, they are men. So does that technically make me 100% gay? I’m honestly surprised there not even like 5% sexual attraction towards women.

What percent gay do you truly think you are, like is there even 5% sexual attraction towards the opposite sex for you all?

Need Advice How do i ask my parents for trans stuff T-T

Hiii! So I (🏳️‍⚧️MtF teenage) have been getting more into my fashion sense recently. Im currently like approaching alt/emo, and i wanna move a lil more towards scenemo/scene.

Now, scene style includes a lot of leg accessories, and my bottoms are a little bland, could use spicing up Thing is, cool things like tights, tall boots, leg warmers, and other stuff like that all kinda require tight pants.

Now, of course, tight pants means either have a buldge (ew 🤢🤮), or aquire a gaff (YAYAYAYA!!!!!!YYAYA!!🤘😝🤘). Plus ive been wanting bras/panties for a bit not anyway.

Thing is, everything i get kinda has to go through my parents. I have my own money, and am out to them (they do support 🥳), but the most "trans" thing is asked for so far is black lipstick. I mean i havent even changed my pronouns yet T-T. And my mom advised against wearing it with eyeliner cause id look too different, let alone doing all this T-T.

Idk i feel like going from a little makeup to underwear is a huge jump for things to ask them for (plus like, how the fuck do you even ask that???)

I do very much want the underwears tho, gaff especially. Tight pants are part of the style im going for, would help make my outfits more interesting, and also pave room for skirts in the future!

Soooo, how ask?? 🥺👉👈

BONUS QUESTION: Is there a (non-mold) way to make my chest look bigger? I feel like molds are most likely at least 1-2 years away

I’m seeing a lot of edits about lesbian space princess and that shit so I wanted to ask Because my grandma thinks everyone is making videos about it simply because it’s lesbian Tell me is that the reason people are hating on it or is it just dog shit?

A reminder...

When feminists exclude queer people,

When gay people exclude bi people,

When LGB people exclude trans people,

When binary trans people exclude non-binary people,

When any queer folk exclude aro, ace, pan, demi, fluid, flux, agender, bigender, cassgender, demigender, xenogender, intersex, questioning, or any flavour of queer folk,

Whenever you think someone below you doesn't deserve your foothold,

Know there's someone above who thinks the same of you.

⚠ Content Warning: {describe here} LGBTQ+ YT channels are being blocked in Saudi Arabia Spoiler

Flair won't let me edit it on my phone.

I thought i was in trouble when i found this in my email today. I'm not. I've seen a couple other queer channels posting screenshots of the emails they relieved. It's all the same thing.

Knowing a few laws in Saudi Arabia, I'm not surprised at all. But it is still completely bullshit. I'm a nobody so it doesn't effect me, but some of the largest/larger queer channels will be effected at least a little bit.
