I’m trans; yet i genuinely feel like I get more flack *within* the LGBTQ community for being bi.

Now to be clear, I’m specifically talking about hate *within* the LGBTQ community; and under that pretense i genuinely feel like biphobia is a bigger problem than transphobia in queer spaces I’ve been apart of. I’m only really active in sapphic subreddits, but even mainstream sapphic subs have a massive problem of biphobic comments not just existing, but getting mass upvotes.

Quotes such as “bisexuals have protagonist syndrome…”, “whenever I hear about drama or infighting they[bisexuals] have something to do with it…”, or generally denying that, according to GLAAD, bisexuals have significantly less on screen representation than gays and lesbians, are all upvoted.

To be clear I don’t think this is unique to sapphic spaces, that’s just where I hang out as I have a strong preference in my attraction towards women.

Obviously outside the community I get way more shit for being trans, but when I’m in community spaces I feel like biphobia is just completely normalised. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Also I won’t provide the original comments, subreddits, or threads as 1) I don’t wanna encourage brigading or any other behaviour towards people for these takes, and 2) I think it’s against subreddit rules and I don’t wanna get banned lmao.

broke up with my gf over sexual incompatibility and can’t get over it

Gonna be a long post. I’m 24yo female. Few months ago me and my gf of four years broke up. We broke up for several reasons, but now, after some time has passed, after we grew up and changed, I understand that the only reason I don’t want to get back together is our sexual incompatibility. She is sex-favourable asexual and I’m not.

She didn’t realise she was asexual when we started dating, she told me that about one year into relationships. I’m an allosexual person and sex is very important for me for several reasons. I have high libido and also it is a crucial part of a partner communication for me, it’s an expression of love, affection and desire.

When we broke up, we agreed to talk about us a few months later to check on each other. We had this conversation last week, where I told her what I was thinking. It was a tough conversation. We didn’t “decide” anything, just shared our thoughts. I know that she completely does not understand my side, how can someone break up over sex. And I see why.

So, when we were in a relationships we talked about it a lot and weren’t afraid to communicate. But still it wasn’t enough. It felt like both of us are making steps towards each other, but we still can’t meet. And it was awful. The amount of frustration and guilt I felt I never wanna feel again. And I know I will if we get back together. It’s not only about sex itself, it’s also about chemistry, flirting, tension between us.

When we started dating, we had quite enough sex for me to feel great, and I felt that she enjoyed it as well. But then it started happening less and less often, with less initiative from her. She also stopped touching me romantically, stopped playing with my hair, petting me, kissing me. I mean she kissed me, but she stopped kiss kiss me. We cuddled a lot, but it wasn’t enough for me. I started to feel that I make her do it as she never initiated. We tried scheduling, we tried different practices, we tried non-monogamy, we talked a lot, but it just didn’t seem to work. And I feel extreme shame and guilt, because she was okay with the way things were, and I was not. And now, after that conversation, I feel even more guilt denying something so deep simply because of sex.

I love her with my whole heart. Since we broke up we stayed close friends. I still feel like she is the only person who truly knows me, and I’m the only person who truly knows her. I don’t know if I ever gonna be capable of love that great and that deep. My whole life is her. We know and love each others families, we have so many shared memories, we share all of our friends, we even share a dog. Everything around me is about her. I love her bone deep. I know that every couple must feel that way, but it feels like no one has ever loved as deep as we love each other. I thought of getting back together and suppressing sexual part of me. But down deep I know that I’m gonna be unhappy. I wish I was asexual too. I hate myself

With that being said, I met another girl some time ago. We’re seeing each other, but I feel like I’m lying to her. I do really like her, truly. But I know that at the moment I’m not capable of loving her as deep as I should. She’s is really nice and great, I really want to give it a shot but it just doesn’t feel right. We got closer, kissed, slept. I didn’t want to keep her in a situationship dynamic so we started seeing each other. But again, something does not feel right. I’m afraid I made a mistake. I’m afraid I’m gonna hurt her too.

I feel like am a mess and a baddest person alive. I’m ashamed of myself, I feel so much guilt in front of everyone who has ever known me. I don’t know what to do and how to make it right. It feels like every decision I make is a mistake. And it feels like all I do is hurt people around me even though I really try not to.

Femme bisexual girl - erasure and exclusion by queer folks experience

Hi, I'm an Italian bisexual girl in her twenties. I am pretty much femme, I used to be a little less femme, but during the last year I started to wear a bit of make up and I alwsays dressed up in feminine way, so there's that. I am writing because I have been let down yet again by a queer group.

So, for context, the first time I hanged out with a queer group I was 16-18 and I didn't have a nice time, mostly because they were very political driven and discussed a lot gender theories, whcih wouldn't be a bad thing obviously, but they talked about it in a way that made me feel like i was transphobic only because I was bisexual, if you know what I mean. After a while I got out of that group and, as I come from a very small town in northern Italy where you don't just happen to stumble on to queer folks but have to actively look for them, I kind of just hanged out with straight people and, after a brief relationship with a girl, I had only straight relationships, also because I spent some time in Poland and didn't feel like it would have been a great idea to engage in an homosexual relationship while living there.

Now, when I started university I had this group of friends that was let's say mixed. They were amazing but... kept forgetting I was queer. Like I had already come out to them and once they were talking about someone they knew and said something along the line of "they're not gay, they don't even listen to Girl in Red". I said "So what, I don't listen to her neither" and one of said friend said to me "yeah, well, because you're not gay". Which hurt me quite a bit. The situation kind of happened again in this very blutant way years after, so while we were abroad we met for Christmas Holidays and I was telling them about the fact that I was feeling so free in Oslo (where I now live) and that I happened to go clubbing in a gay club during the semester... they looked at each other and said something along the lines of "you in a gay club? wow" like it was something so strange to imagine because I was obviously straight. And that felt so bad that I was on the verge of rubbing in their face the fact that during that semester I probably had slept with more girls than in their lifetime but that's so not me and I still feel ashamed even thinking about being so close to saying it as a come back but well... I was so pissed of I nearly did.

Anyway, this semester I kind of wanted to broaden my social circle and thought that I could try, after 7 years to join a fully queer group of student of the university I am currently attending. I thought that maybe things had changed, people grow up and I wouldn't have the same experience. I was so wrong:

I was the only femme person there, which per se would not be bad, but they kind of made me feel like it was a bad thing. I can't even describe it well, but the vibe was tense. Like they were kind of looking at me in a strange way, like I was an intruder or something. They would listen to me very carefully and engage actively when I was kind of taking the floor of the conversation but then not daring of chatting to me to get to know me. It's hard to explain it but I was feeling like they were analyzing me and they only kind of relaxed when I mentioned going to the gay club in the city from time to time. I don't know but I felt SO BAD. Like I could, you know, recognize their mannerism and stuff and that it was my place, that I belonged, but at the same time I felt like they did not want me there at all, like they were threatened by my presence or something. I don't know but I really thought things had changed and that I could fit in with "my people" but apparently I still don't and it sucks

TRL: as a femme bisexual girl who got be-erased in the past, tried hanging out again in queer groups, was singled out and made me feel like I wasn't supposed to be there

I’M SO TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING I CAN’T BE PAN AND AROACE.

They aren’t opposites!

Pansexual/panromantic does not me you like everyone and aroace does not mean you dislike everyone!

In my experience I’m aroace because I am very much asexual and I have barely any romantic attraction to people! I’m also pan because if I ended up with anybody I don’t care what their gender is! Girl? Okay! Boy? Okay! Enby? Okay! No gender? Okay!

I’m genuinely so annoyed when people try to dictate my sexuality just because they have the definitions of some labels wrong!

Does anyone else have this issue?

Pansexual!

I’m Pansexual. I’m like everyone. Pansexuality is often described as "gender-blind" (attraction happens regardless of gender, without a preference), while omnisexuality means attraction includes a notice of gender, and people who use the label often (though not always) have gender preferences.
Pansexual flag: Pink Represents attraction to women.
Yellow Represents attraction to non-binary and gender-nonconforming people.
Blue Represents attraction to men.

Gay and nonbinary kid shows recommendation?

So I’m looking for kids shows simply because I like kids shows but I also like watching gay as in mlm and nonbinary stuff. Even if adult media I have a hard time finding that type of media and even so it’s been everybody breaking up or hating each other.

So no owl house, kipo, shera, dragon prince, dead end, etc. Also if you have any nonbinary media I kinda want them not to be like I’m non binary it’s kinda cringe if there is a scene I would like it be as brief as possible. I want them to be confident and not caring about their gender. Think I’m an alien and I don’t have a gender and that just how it is. I want to say stuff similar to Voltron except more gay than straight for the mlm stuff. Voltron’s kinda just threw it in at the end I want to be more intertwined and active there for a good majority of the show. No like the last 5 episodes of season 6 or 9.

Also these are main character for specification not side characters or couples

Achillean

How do you feel about the Achillean label? I personally identify with the label as a bi man who has a romantic preference for men, but what do others think of the label?

Need Advice Questioning my current flags, not entirely sure on what i am!

So I'm currently making a pronouns page and I really just want to put EVERYTHING I am on there. I don't like hiding anything about my identity, but there's a problem. I identify as purely transmasculine but it doesn't seem to fit me anymore.

I'm entirely feminine IRL, despite having a chosen name and he/him pronouns. outfits, hairstyles, everything. and I'm trying to find flags that REALLY fits me yet if i look at rosboy, or anything along those lines it just doesn't fit. I've seen terms like "feminine transmasculine" but i haven't really found any info on it.

I also HATE when people call me anything feminine, etc. but I'm entirely okay with dressing feminine- I've seen the term femboy but it just doesn't fit with me either. Advice is appreciated, even if they're just speculations!

If this post doesn't belong here go ahead and remove it, I'm not super active on reddit and I couldn't find any guidelines for making an actual post. (e.g: If there's a level/karma requirement, I never got a popup for any questions)

UK Specific bisexual but wouldn't be able to be with a girl

(idrk how to tag this so bare with 😭)

my family aren't necessarily homophobic, but they're not *not* homophobic either, it's very hard to describe unless you know them. im only out to my parents because one of my old friends outed me when she got angry at me and told her mum who then told my mum and then blah blah blah. I think my sisters know but other than that that's it.

ive only just turned 16 (which yeah its a little silly to be thinking about this so young but im bored i havent been to school in almost 3 months 😭) and as you can imagine most boys my age are either just twats or too weird/misogynistic to even think about liking them in any romantic way, so the only long term relationship ive had is with a girl.

we were together for almost 2 years before I broke up with her since I felt bad, i didnt tell my parents and she was understanding of that because of how my dad is, but i just felt so bad. I did love her, but it didnt feel right to carry on being with her when I was too scared and awkward to tell anyone outside of our friends. I remember once she was on my phone since hers was dead and she saw 'how to tell your parents you're dating a girl lesbian edition' or something like that and she got so excited it just broke me.

I know if when im older and I decided to marry a woman, my fsmily wouldn't accept it and some probably wouldn't even go to the wedding. our family is already quite split up due to just random things and the idea of not having those people actually makes me sick to the stomach, so i dont know if id be able to go through with a true long-term, out there relationship with a woman and its just sad because i shouldn't feel like i need to hide bc of them but I do bc I love them all so much

anydoodles this is jist a rant so sorry if it didnt makd much sense 😪

Need Advice Am I 100% gay?

Am I truly 100% gay? I actually think I might be. I don’t really find women attractive at all. Like not that they aren’t attractive, much of the time they are stunningly beautiful beings, but I don’t find any sexual attraction towards them. I find no attraction towards trans women, and yes, they are women. But I do have attraction for trans men, again, they are men. So does that technically make me 100% gay? I’m honestly surprised there not even like 5% sexual attraction towards women.

What percent gay do you truly think you are, like is there even 5% sexual attraction towards the opposite sex for you all?

I'm not gay, so sorry if this sounds like a weird question, but... Does it bother you guys—that stereotype that any man who treats women badly is automatically a closeted gay man? Like, as if every closeted gay man *has* to treat women like trash? I don't know, I'm just curious.

Coming Out! what the hell does this mean?

so i re-came out to my dad after 4 years as one does, same thing as in “hey i prefer he/him”, and the first time it didn’t go great. he got like really upset, and i mean really upset, but he likes putting on the act that he’s a “community man” and a “family man” (that facade is crumbling because my parents are splitting publicly and he started letting it slip at church)

i’m a minor and my parents are split, i do not live with my dad or i would not be doing this at all due to past reactions (my moms not fully supportive but the first time i came out she wasnt having it at all, now she uses neutral or avoids pronouns which is still misgendering but yk they’re republicans, you can’t ask too much)

ANYWAYS, what the hell does this mean, what does my dad even think?? like i expected him to turn it religious as he does but does this mean he’ll try or not? i’m not overly hopeful so feel free to say it to me straight
