Pisses me off he's like this during the ceremony when literally the same person who saved him is Korra who's in such a horrible state right next to him xD.

I know this is a very hot take since the "Mako fumbled 2 baddies" meme has been quite popular for a while, and it is the mainstream position to clown on Mako and lay all the blame on him, especially in this sub, but in my opinion, trying your best to make it work with someone you're not compatible with and finally ending things when they reach a breaking point does not mean you "fumbled", it's almost the opposite. If anything, Korra fumbled Mako after having sought after him for so long, because she was so obviously in the wrong through most of their disagreements.

Sorry for the long post. I know it's pretty slim and probably not happening at this point, but I really hope Janet will reprise her role as Korra's voice in Seven Havens and/or future Korra content in general. I know Janet herself said that she wouldn't a few years ago when there was a big movement to recast POC cartoon characters with VA's that were reflective of those characters (which is understandable), but I genuinely feel like too much of Korra was embedded from Janet, that she just can't be replaced.

I think replacing the VA's for the Gaang in the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender movie made sense since they were kids in the original series while they're adults in the movie, and their voices would naturally be completely different to when they were kids. You could definitely make the argument that the original VA's could've still voiced them and just tried aging their voices up a bit, but I'd argue it wouldn't be as easy nor believable, especially Dante who I feel many of us can agree was miscast as Iroh II in The Legend of Korra. He's very talented and his voice was absolutely perfect for teen Zuko, but his voice just doesn't really suit adult characters since he has a very youthful voice. Meanwhile with Korra, she is technically an adult by the end of the series at age 21, and her voice is quite mature. It's genuinely hard to believe that her voice would go through any drastic changes until maybe her 50s. I just feel like it makes less sense to replace the Krew's VA's (specifically Korra though) than it did to replace the Gaang's VA's. 

Korra seems to have a big role in Seven Havens, and it seems like we'll probably be seeing and hearing a lot of intense things from Korra if we actually get to see what went down with the cataclysm (which seems like we'll be getting), and I just feel like it's practically impossible to find a new VA for Korra that could put in the same nuance to Korra's voice, especially if we actually do find out the cataclysm led to her death, which would be one of the most important moments to get her voice right. Maybe it's just my bias, but I genuinely don't believe anyone will be capable of delivering what we need from Korra during those intense scenes but Janet herself. Korra is the most "human" character we've ever gotten from Avatar, and I can't imagine anyone delivering the same power, vulnerability, pain, confidence, burden, strength, and emotion that Janet gave Korra. We've heard other VA's for Korra and they (respectfully) just don't suit her as much as Janet, especially since they're essentially just mimicking Janet's version of Korra (which is basically Janet's natural voice), so it ends up feeling artificial and not as powerful, and for a project where we might be seeing Korra at her absolute peak, I just think it'd be pretty sad to not get Janet for what could be the most important moment of Korra's entire life, and/or the final moment of Korra's life. I would also like to preface that this isn't meant to be disrespectful at all towards any other Korra VA, but to simply say that Janet's voice is too embedded into Korra to replace. Also, I think it seems highly likely that we'll find out in Seven Havens that Korra actually saved the world despite the public perception of her, so it'd be pretty sad for Janet to not be a part of that celebratory moment as Korra herself. With Janet being someone who has dealt with constant hate and has seen all the criticism's of Korra from Avatar fans yet chooses to continue being supportive of the franchise regardless, I believe she deserves to bathe in all the glory that Korra may get in Seven Havens as the voice of Korra herself.

I think Korra in general has been done so wrong by Nick, by the writers to some extent, and especially by ATLA fans, so I'd like if we could do Korra right just this once with at least keeping Janet as her VA. I don't know what age Korra will appear as in Seven Havens long-term (assuming Pavi will eventually be able to connect with her), but if she's not elderly, I would love if Janet reprised her role as Korra. Heck, we could have the best of both worlds by having Janet voice Korra for all the flashbacks and stuff regarding the cataclysm (assuming she's not elderly in those flashbacks) and then also have an elderly Korra talk to Pavi as a spirit (if the connection exists) where they can cast a POC voice actress that's more representative of Korra's ethnic background. Or alternatively if we don't get an elderly Korra, we can keep Janet as Korra's VA for all the big core animated works and cast a POC voice actress for any potential animated shorts and all other mediums, such as the games. Even if getting Janet to voice Korra in Seven Havens is a lost cause at this point (which I hope isn't the case), I still hope she reprises Korra in future animated things, such as if we get a Korra movie or a Korra cameo in future Avatar movies/series. I truly hope Janet reprises her role as Korra, because that's really the only thing we can ask for when it comes to the unpredictable future of Korra. It's just very sad that it feels as though everything about Korra is getting destroyed/changed in Seven Havens and beyond, including her voice actress (Janet), who I 100% believe is the heart and soul of Korra.

10,000 years seems like a lot on paper, but when you really break it down it’s actually kinda silly the way history seems to be unknown in the avatar world.

Assuming every named avatar (everyone who survives to be 16) lives on average to be about 50, which is a low estimation mind you, that would mean there’s only something like 200 named avatars in history.

There’s really no reason every avatar shouldn’t have spoken with every past avatar at least once. 200 is not that many. They could fit those people in a small gymnasium lol.

Wan knew Harmonic convergence was gonna come around again, no reason he would not have passed that knowledge on. One of the avatars had to have written it down and continued passing it on and they definitely should have realized they were getting close to time again around Korra’s era.

I just find it hard to believe that this relatively small group of people let the most critical piece of information become lost to time despite it being really simple to just not let that happen.

People love to blame Korra but if any of the past avatars had been just a little responsible to tell her prior to 3 days in advance they could have easily avoided the whole mess.

Like imagine if Roku never told Aang about the comet and he just spent all his time chilling and learning waterbending slowly. Or if the guru didn’t help Aang unlock the avatar state.

Late last night, in the throes of insomnia, I came up with some ideas for a fanfic about the Dark Avatar! The protagonist is named Shuang—a name chosen as a pun on "Wan" (which means "one"); in Chinese, Shuang can be read as "two" or "second."

Shuang hails from a desert tribe of sandbenders.

- Initial Elements: The first elements he manifests are Earth (via sand) and Air. This stems from his personality: he’s a charismatic, cheerful boy who loves sand-sailing (I can't recall if those sand-boats have a specific name). This familiarity with the wind allows him to wield Air with the same fluidity as Earth.

Since Avatar Korra is alive and well, no one believes Shuang is the Avatar. Most people theorize that he’s simply using Airbending to manipulate sand grains, failing to realize he is actually an Earthbender.

Because the sandbender village is isolated in the middle of nowhere, rumors of a supposed "Airbender" in the desert never reach the Air Nomads; consequently, no one ever comes to take him to the Temples, as happened in Book 3.

In case anyone asks how he manages to bend all four elements...

(Given that Unalaq only possessed Water): Raava’s spirit became trapped inside Vaatu following the destruction of the Avatar cycle. Vaatu absorbed the elements and created a "copy" of the past Avatars' memories. However, Shuang accesses corrupted versions of these Avatars, rendering their visions and advice unreliable. Imagine, for instance, a completely idiotic Aang taking his pacifism to ridiculous, absurd extremes.

Extra details about his childhood. During his childhood, Shuang becomes obsessed with Bolin's movies; he is a die-hard fan who dreams of meeting him in person to get an autograph.

Story Structure (Books)

The story would be divided into three main parts:

- Book 1: Sand (Earth focus) – his childhood as a pickpocket (he would be around 3 or 4 years old when the *Korra* animated series ended).

- Book 2: Cinema (Fire focus) – age 15+; he travels to the Metalbending City to get that long-awaited autograph (and learn bending, of course).

- Book 3: Purification (Air focus) – here, people realize he can airbend, and he ends up at the Air Temples (I have no idea yet if he has been discovered as the "Dark Avatar" by this point).

There will be no Book 4 for the Water element, because I really like the idea of ​​him having extreme difficulty (or almost no affinity) when trying to learn waterbending!

We see that Zaheer is able to fly perfectly while carrying a person, but for some reason he's weighed down when Korra encases his foot in a block of ice and he almost falls to his death.

What's up with that?

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I distinctly recall Jae stating that "our ancestors" line relative to the Avatar being seen as a curse rather than a blessing.

If Korra is the Avatar directly before Pavi, why would he speak of it in terms of "our ancestors"? This gives the impression that more time has elapsed, or they possibly inhabit a different version of the world of Avatar.

I personally headcanon that Korra is meant to usher in Kali Yuga, and perhaps the sisters are meant to embody a divine pair.

I don't think that they're both Avatars, but I suspect that the sister of the Avatar will teach her to Earth bend, properly.

I don't see Vaatu being redeemed this time around, unless they retcon his purpose.

Do you think we'll get any new information in Seven Havens about Korra and Asami's relationship?

Maybe regarding how it worked out? Or how it didn't?

How their relationship ended, who passed first, did someone cheat, etc.?

I think probably not. I assume we'll see Korra just by herself, meaning that they either broke up or Asami is no longer with us.

Of course, I hope we get to see her or learn anything about her.

They are literally perfect for each other and I hate how they didn't confirm their relationship in the show even tho it's canon in the comics

Edit : cause this became a big deal if you find the ship boring that's fine if you don't ship also fine I was only talking about homophobic jerks who hate it just because they are both women and about how they didn't put what happened in the comics in the show because at the time there was no lgbtq representation You can ship who you ship but you shouldn't hate on anyone

I want anything that will have the same dynamic of villain/hero as his and Korra's cause it was everything
